same thing happened to me. I was cutting a watermelon with one of my really sharp knives and I didn't even realized I cut myself until I felt something thick and sticky, that couldn't be juice.

It might just be that her knives are very sharp. If your blade is sharp enough, you often will not feel it when it initially cuts you.
