Agreed, I do feel that State Azure consistently improves a lot of TD classics that I really liked a lot when they came out. I think it is because there was a slightly frenetic and intense quality in many TD passages that SA mellows, slows down a little, paces differently, develops the emerging tracks more slowly, and fades them out more slowly. Sometimes the difference is small and sometimes a little more obvious, but I like SA's touch being added in both cases.
DAMN -U Beat Me 2 It!😈 This is a song I've wanted 2 cover 4 over 30yrs -It's ONE of the main reasons I got into synthesis back in the early '80's! Excellent Job!👽

Thank you John! The creepy opening was fun to do, since I didn't have to worry about keeping anything tonal, it's not supposed to be even remotely close to the original opening (that would be incredibly difficult), so I just did my own thing. Merry Christmas!
@@stateazure The interesting thing about cover versions for me, is that they shouldnt be exactly like the original anyway, allowing the artist's interpretation and the chance to improve part of the track that may have flagged, but also to retain the essence of the track. I would say that from this cover and LOART, you are very good at syncopated rhythms and have captured the essence of 'Remote Viewing'. As for the eerie opening, TD's remix titled 'Light Of Creation' in 1983, did away with the eerie opening, and probably would have been easier to replicate for you. That withstanding, I then listened a 2nd time on headphones, and thought the last 3 mins were very ethereal and gave me goosebumps. Also the fact you did this live, as opposed to covering it privately, is very commendable, and gave us 45 mins worth, TD's versions are only just over 8 mins! If you were to perform another live stream of a TD track, I would recommend 'Silver Scale', which in my opinion was performed best by TD in their 1980 concert in Preston. the track is over 20 mins long, but is one of those tracks that could be extended even more. Anyway, well done, thanks once again, and hope to hear more from you soon :)

Now, i you're prepared to continue taking requests, I'd like to suggest one hour versions of Phaedra (the title track) and/or Rubicon, Part 1 (given there's plenty of scope for extending both of these). I appreciate that these are not your original TD era but your take on them would most definitely be appreciated. And then, of course, if you fancy delving into mid-70s Klaus Schulze as well ... !

I appreciate the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind, but I do have the next few TD tracks already planned which once done I hope to release officially as a cover album, so any others will be a long way off if I ever get to them. My last two uploads to Bandcamp 'Cyclical Space' single and 'Sea of Clouds' track from the Painted Skies album were heavily inspired by 70s Klaus Schulze. I don't think I'll ever attempt an actual cover of Schulze, as they mostly seem to be improvised, which is what I've done myself with those releases.

Wow, so weird. I've been a huge fan of this track ever since you released it and it just so happened to come back up in my recommended list because I've been looking into astral projection and remote viewing (the title of you track) a lot lately. Maybe that's why it has resonated so strongly with me, I just didn't know why at the time! :) I have AP'd twice since starting the techniques a month ago (most recently was last night) and have practiced remote viewing but haven't had any good target practice results yet. I'm not giving up yet, but just sharing my story. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing music and please keep making it for us, please! The DAW I use is Studio One Pro 4, lots and lots of software both synths and FX, too many to mention!
@@patrickmacnaughton192 The only hardware synths are the Prophet 12 and Quantum in this one, everything else is software. Can't tell you exactly which soft synths I used, no doubt Omnisphere, PPG Wave, Diva and possibly Serum..probably a few others too.
This is one of my favorites. I highly recommend watching the movie "Wavelength" it has the TD soundtrack and its a real cool movie regarding aliens etc. super cool flick. hard to fi nd though. Remote Viewing is one of the tracks in that movie.
