The amazing thing is that the animation was, as stated by another comment, all done by one person. He used a combination of 3D models combined with excruciatingly detailed hand drawn textures to give it that 90's anime aesthetic. Working on it every free weekend took four years to finish.
Media: “The Disney Star Wars is perfect the way it is and the standards of Star Wars fans are impossible.” Me (A Civilized Intellectual): (Shows T.I.E. Fighter fan film) 1 person on a budget of 0 made this. Disney has no excuse.
Except for this is only one example and some fans of whatever movie or genre are impossible to please and hate on something before even giving it a chance. Am I an advocate for Star Wars 7-9? NO, they had signi8ficant issues. Were they entertaining? sure but that in no way excuses the issues these films have, which are many. I would prefer they not be considered canon, though I will reserve judgment to see what becomes of the rumored Director cuts editions that may come out in 2023 which is supposed to completely rework these. - All that being said, stop hating on Disney. While fan films are great, they cannot compare to a multimillion-dollar budget. Disney has pocketbooks to bring out consistent content of high quality. Rogue One was good and while there are mixed feelings about Solo, I thought it was great. Are you going to say I am not a true fan because I did not jump on the hate wagon? - Again Episodes 7-9 were very disappointing. But you know what I am also getting through Disney? Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau with more Star Wars Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, An Ahsoka series coming, A Obi-wan series. Star Wars VISIONS and so much more content. Disney stumbled out of the gate with episodes 7-9 and did not know what to do with the franchise and Kathleen Kennedy who was in charge of directing the franchise through Disney clearly had her own agenda that did not stay true to what made Star Wars so big in the first place. - But to claim Disney has no excuse when Disney is clearly creating an actual universe that no fan fiction youtube video could ever create is not telling the whole story. Your comment is just a quick soundbite to trash Disney and this is what is meant when we talk about fans being impossible. Look at the all-female Ghostbusters, people hated on that from the getgo before it was even released. Yet it was hilarious and had cameos from many of the living stars of the original Ghostbusters. There is just no pleasing some fans and you know what? that is fine, but instead of them throwing a tantrum and blaming everything on Disney, then why don't these fans just do what the individual who created Tie Fighter has done and make their own fan fiction story exactly how they want it.
This guy "Paul Johnson" made an incredible job. Tons better than any cgi Star Wars series. And what he also did, we see the Pilots as people. Not "the bad guys in dark uniforms/suits" it´s time to realize and accept the empire are full of humans who fight for there families and friends..not just the "good rebellion"
If I understand this is about just one of the many times the rebels got caught and smashed to show why the rebels preferred hit and run not stand up fights the movies imply they do
If you enjoy Star Wars you should definitely check out Darth Maul: Apprentice it’s a really good fan film! That is if you haven’t already ready seen it. Keep up the fun videos! I am enjoying watching them!

That’s incredible. The amount of creative effort put in for this. Amazing.
