There's Billiemania now. I went to a one night movie of Billie EIlish's 2022 world tour and not only was it crazy onscreen but many in the theater audience were is the aisles most dancing, singing and yelling for Billie the whole time, and not only teenage girls. This was a recorded concert, not live. See Billie at last months 'Global Citizen' concert. 3 acoustic songs with her brother. It's funny, in the Beatle era you might have millions of viewers on Ed Sullivan but today top artists can have billions of streams on one song and perform live for huge numbers on a tour... I adore the Beatles and have read many history books about them. They changed music and the world in ways that must be difficult to understand without living through it, but my favorite group at the time, or actually, a year or two later was The Lovin Spoonful.
I suggest that you react to something just a little older, one of the actual inventors of rock - Chuck Berry. Good songs would be "Johnny B Goode" or "Roll Over Beethoven." He wrote his own music, which was unheard of for a performer at the time.
