- Endwalker brought out a lot more lore on Omega than I ever expected! So I revised my previous script to fit the new lore, and I'm very confident in its presentation now! I really do hope everyone enjoys this as I return to my usual content!

Something worth mentioning, omega's still kicking. One of the written side stories about him imply he uploaded his consciousness to that "toy" that follows Alpha

I thought that was implied in Stormblood as well, but yeah, Omega is still around.
@@TheAzulmagia it was but I feel like the short story really sells what he was thinking in those final moments and what he intends to do from there on.
All Omega wanted in the end to return home but sadly there was no home to return too.
And they imply both of them have a soul

The parallels between Garlemald and the Omicrons are eerie. Perhaps Alphatron can be interpreted as a glimpse of what a Garlean dominated world might've eventually developed into?
I feel the second zone of the Dead Ends is the world the Garleans wanted. A world under one ruling community with seemingly a single human race and advanced technology.
@@thecatboy7494 If the final rejoinings were to occur, then the Convocation would have resumed control of the star. “Garlemald” as a distinct polity and culture would cess to exist. Assuming they survived 6 more rejoinings in the first place.
more like what the Allagan wanted. Garlemald juat follows what Allag did and Emet Selch did not know anything about Alphatron
@@ninboy01 That was the Ascian plan but the emperor wanted to use the rejoinings to get the power to overthrow the Ascians.
Man, it’s kind of a good thing in hindsight that the first Omega video got redone. Especially because of just how much Endwalker brought to Omega and the Dragonstar
Agreed! The lore is much more solid now and I had a blast revisiting my old script!
What I find most interesting about Omega is, like Gilgamesh, most of Omega's appearances are implied to be the same being in its different appearances throughout the franchise. If this remains true and considering the few scraps of its origins from older games indeed still holds up to the FFXIV's version, FFXIV might've let us see the full origin story of one of its few recurring characters, which is quite special.
Ya but this one feels different from the rest of them since the others were created to fight Shinryu not Migardsormer. If they hadn’t written that in I would say that this is the same one.
I like how the Omicrons show that technological development isn't a single pathway in the FFXIV universe. On one end, you have the synthetic Omicrons; on the other, the magically-inclined Ascians/Ancients of Unsundered Etheiys.
That said, the Omicron story isn't over. We'll see where SE takes the Last Dregs questline.

man one part of me thinks omega should be thankful he doesn't have a home to go back to because imagine the absolute roasting he would get:
omicron leader/leaders: so did you manage to kill midgardsormr?
omega: I almost died to several sentient potatoes, at least a dozen lanky groomers and at least three catboys in French maid outfits
leader/leaders: *que that one meme reaction* you, WHAT
I just realized: Omega's aetheric replicator is functionally identical to creation magic. He can create objects, locations, even living creatures from abstract concepts, though much less so for him considering his perception and thoughts are much more objective and analytical, and he can even create beings imbued with (or capable of developing) a soul, as seen with Alpha. Makes me wonder if we could've somehow rediscovered proper creation magics through deeper study of Omega...
...Although considering where that got us before, it's probably for the best that he just sorta follows Alpha around as a mini now
Using Omega to “rediscover” creation magic would be kind of pointless. The Lopporits do possess true creation magic like that used by the ancients of Etheryis. So a means to learn it through cultural exchange already exists.
And it’s not necessarily an ability that needs to be “taught” in a traditional sense. It’s still an innate ability that the modern people of Etheryis have. It’s just that the process of conjuring concepts takes an incredible amount of concentration that isn’t easily achieved by sundered beings.
Hence why the Ascians devised the modern summoning method, which replaces the management of concepts with religious fervor to manifest creations. Albeit this technique was developed specifically to destabilize cultures and aetheric balance.

Ishikawa did say that we should do the Omega raids before Endwalker. Now so see why. Maybe we’ll get to know more about these creatures in the next expansion?

Great video! I’m glad they took this opportunity of space travel to give us more lore on Omega and Midgradsormr and their worlds. If they didn’t it would feel odd.

The Omega Raids storyline is grossly underappreciated in the FFXIV community.
I love how square took all of the worst nightmares of what could become humanity and made them a living, breathing area in final fantasy 14.

I literally just watched through the entire raid last night after getting to the 5th zone in EW. I'll be back once I'm done.
I personally like the versions of the story where Omega actually exists in higher dimensions and the omega's we see are like probes meant to gather information and send it back to the true omega. That's why there are so many omega's that seem different. Each of them is built for the specific universe they are sent to. It also reminds me of how gods have multiple aspects across different universes or worlds and each version is just a different aspect of the whole.
Omega was basically the Zenos to Midgardsormr.

I was just thinking of looking up lore about Omega and this video suddenly appears!

So in an interesting twist, in order to become stronger the Omicronians let go of everything that made them 'alive' and in its course to try and destroy US, Omega re-learned all of that all over again.
And as was mentioned, it is still alive. Two of the sidestories in the official lore corroborate it. One being a story from its perspective and another about the ones who got left behind after the Crystal Tower did its thing where a reawakened Midgardsormr confers with it.
Huh I totally forgot the battle with shinryu and omega. I remember post arr talking about the 3 alliances fighting in the flats because like ultima, omega laud dormant then there was omega from sb and wondered if it was the same or how it got there xD besides that, didnt know about the its origin from another star, thought it was an allegan creation
likewise, I forgot about the story from SB and wanted to know more after EW....
The modern Allagab waa derived from Omega by using Omega's technology and reverse engineer it. Why do you think it tool 15 generations of Iron works to finally match Allagan technological advances? lol
@@Yokai_Yuri yes I am aware of that now, like I said I initially thought it was alleg creation but in reality Omega taught the Alleg and probably helped them recreate him
So in the nutshell, omecrons are people who desire of cybernetic upgrade and eventually suffer from cyber-psychosis

What to tackle next indeed? Besides the Samurai video, Endwalker gave us a feast for thought. Issue would be where to start and with what we now know, what could be further explained. Maybe a video on the moon?
I had an entire video ready on the different Limit Breaks but Endwalker kinda set that on fire! The video is technically all true still, but I KNOW that if I post it the comments are gonna be nothin but saying I'm wrong and that it's all Dynamis. lmao
@@SynodicScribe But it’s not. Not entirely. If they paid attention, Dynamis is an abstract force that has no effect on aether unless in massive quantities. It’s just potentially applicable, not a 100% thing. Yet some people act like it’s the new explanation?

@@acgearsandarms1343 to be fair, the final boss's reaction to it definitely implies that dynamis at least has some part in it. Like perhaps it's aether and then somehow dynamis is used to augment it or something. Idk, all I know is the boss acknowledged it and that's enough for me to question it.
Omicrons are basically if the Borg and the Adeptus Mechanicus had a lovechild
I think it's actually debatable whether or not Omega thinks there exists such a thing as "good and evil"; i think that the fact that it made us fight only villains in the raid series attests to omega believing in a concept such as "bad guys who are beaten by good guys". the answer only lies in the question: did omega make these Villains to be what omega itself could test its own strength against, because it saw itself as a hero? or did it create these villains to signify itself as a villain to be fought by us, the hero?
or, well....i suppose the answer lies with the fact that omega knows what a villain is. after all, it also made us fight Midgardsormr, who it ostensibly saw as a villain to defeat. the fact that the omicrons were paranoid that there were villains out there who wanted to hurt them.
I believe he was trying to figure out what made us strong. The villains that we fought in the trials had great power and omega didnt understand what made the heroes win against overwhelming odds. So even if he made us fight the heroes he couldnt recreate what made them strong, like their spirit and power of friendship amd stuff lol.

The Omicrons are the only species able to successfully discover. Replication is a key tool in order to accomplish this. They are seemingky able of instant communication anywhere and if you want to discover all there is in an unimaginably big universe you need to create self-repkicating scouts so over times they can grow somewhat exponentially dependon in what they encounter.. to spread even to other galaxies tho it will depend heavy on speed and power source.. still it would take possibly millions of years even for our own galaxy

I wonder if there's any relation between Omega and Eureka. Also, how is Omega able to view other universes, if that aspect is even Canon?
If you're referring to the FFXIV references he used in his raid fights. Those are just "stories" he gave life to. They're not officially part of the FFXIV canon. lol
As far as I understood the adventure through the Interdimensional Rift, all of the simulations crafted by Omega that we were pit against through combat were adaptations of fairy tales known throughout the realm. Exdeath, Kefka, Chaos, and even the Ghost Train - these entities have some form of folklore or mythological backing on the Star.
Given what we have experienced on the First, notably the existence of Locke, Lenna, and potentially Bartz as heroes summoned by Elidibus during the Heroes Gauntlet, we cannot rule out the possibility that the villains of those tales were real at some point, and by extension that the worlds depicted in the simulations are just as real. Be they Reflections we have yet to visit, those that have been lost to the Rejoinings, or separate Stars that yet struggle forward, we are left with myriad possibilities but scant few answers.

It's weird. They're still individuals(kinda) but they operated in like a digital hierarchy. They answer to the superior robot and only do as instructed.

If you think of modern society now, we’re sorta hive mind-ish. With access to the internet and mobile phones, we have access to a collective knowledge.
Additionally, messages and news can spread to millions almost instantly. And we seem more conditioned to think the same.
Twitter, Reddit, TH-cam, Discord, etc.. All of these connects the words and minds of millions together.
Someone in Korea knows the same joke as someone in Alabama.
Despite this, we still retain our individuality, though seeing my nephews connection to social media, I’m wondering how much is shaped by the internet zeitgeist.

What do you think would happen if you/ the player/ introduces omega to the omicrons that 'exist' in Ultima thul (endwalker area).
Do you think it'd stir some stuff up or what?
Two things have been bothering me recently. The first is unrelated to this specific video, how did Elidibus as WoL use limit break? I thought complete souls are too dense with aether to use dynamis. Secondly, and possibly related to this....what's the heart of sabik? The Ultima weapon is based on what the allagans learned from Omega but Lahabread said the heart existed before the allagans. Is there some explaination that I missed somewhere?
1. Limit Breaks DO use aether, don't take the final trial in the expansion to seriously. I have a video on Limits breaks ready but I dunno if I should release it because of this confusion. lol
2. Ultima was based off the Allagans which was based off Omega, but its CORE was something much older. A "gift" from the Ascians.
I may temember wrong but wasnt the heart of sabik a kind of auracite given by the high seraph since she is the original creator of the ultima spell that the ascians learned
@@Searaphinn I don't recall that lore at all. We honestly know very little about the Heart of Sabik. But hey, I might have missed something! Wouldn't be the first time.
@@SynodicScribe i scoured the internet a bit and i think i recall that one of the ironworks engineers in the emerald weapon questline theorises that the core could be a chunk of The high seraphs original auracite tho nothing gets confirmed. Thats pretty much all i could find without researching deeper but as said i could be missremembering.

I want to dedicate an entire video to that, and how it relearned about emotion from his time as mini-omega. Such a good story!
Something worth mentioning is the fact that like gilgamesh, this omega is the same omega we have seen across all the titles given that we have its origins now its safe to assume that Omega started out in FFXIVs universe and also ended in FFXIVs Universe. Now my question are Did he travel universe while he chased midgardsomr and how tf does Gilgamesh do the same thing through what is called the "Rift"
This Omega was constructed in this universe and isn't a realm walker. Gilgamesh only pops up in other titles cause Exdeath banished him into the space between realities. What a way to set up cameos. lmao

I got confused about something in middle of endwalker, that apparently happens in omega, so came to understand what I missed here that made me confused... And see this will spoil something at end of endwalker. Welp, guess I just stay confused for a bit longer. Really wish someone would just go through what happened in the raid story wise...

So Omicrons used to be organic. Became machines and now seek to dominate the universe with super advanced tech. I think Games Workshop is gonna sue somebody.
