Voltage drops under load. If you up that voltage a bit it helps with stability and max overclock :) keep it up! Huhn @3dcenter

    That hvac unit is typical with self contained systems/units in your local food markets. Very easy to maintenance, just keep the coil clean and make sure the fan is spinning, if the compressor is making noise its low on refrigerant. Thermostat modules normally go bad before anything else. Super set up my man, well done!

      interesting to note that the TDP achieved will probably pass the +304 W mark, i used CPUCalc 1.9.6 to have a rough estimation on the TDP that broke the compressor, so you literally had to dissipate the heat that an average nuclear reactor facility does daily (average is 100W/cm2) given that the chip has a die area of 214mm2 or 2,14 cm2 and about 304W estimated TDP for that OC. So the power density is given by (EnergyXtime/Surface) so it gives you at least 142 W/cm2. The comparison reached my mind when i remembered various articles estimating the power that will be dissipated over the next chips that intel will launch (post pentium 4) and couted the power density achieved on nuclear reactors.

    Great job for going to that 5G :D
    I think you should have went with 2x4GB sticks (less stress on chipset).
    Also, did you increased FSB Termination or play around with GTLs/Performance Level (a.k.a. Transaction Boost) ?
    PS. Memory test would be nice to see (bandwidth and latency).

    • @RETROHardware
      @RETROHardware  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried lot of possible and impossible settings and 5.1 is limit. RAMs weren‘t problem, they are high clocks and low voltage - overpowered for this setup.

      @@RETROHardware I would like to see all of that :)
      PLL Voltage increase didn't helped ?
      If RAM is low voltage, why put 1,85V into it (@12:00) ?

    • @RETROHardware
      @RETROHardware  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anytime is better voltage + for sure. This is one of xx settings I made, I can‘t show everyone during 2-3 days :-) Nothing helped to much get over 5.1. You got more TDP for nothing. In final a sent all voltages down and results were same.

      This is logical with water you are +/- 70 C up? All Quads CPUs are bad with TDP and needs best possible cooling for records. Compressor is not so good too ... this is place for LN2 only.
      Nice, you have fast RAMs too, so no problem play with them.

      They do, the 9900k goes insane at sub-zero (like 6 GHz). That may not sound like much, but you’re paying 4x more than a Ryzen for a 1 time upgrade (I’ve still got an SS that works from like 2006, many CPUs have been improved with it) for a similar gain. So fact check please! It still benefits modern CPUs.

    Hi, you should get a gigabyte P45 board like these :
    EP45-UD3/UD3R/UD3P/DS4/DS5/DQ6/extreme or the first 3 in "EP45T" (DDR3), best board for core 2 quad overclocking.
    Along with an X5470 and you could try to bench over 5GHz :)
    And also some very high frequency capable cas 4 stick for ddr2 (like 550 at least) and some elpida hyper for benching DDR3 775

    • @arwlyx
      @arwlyx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a EP45-Extreme and its great, the only issues I have with it is the finicky bios booting (guess that's a thing with 775 boards) and the fact that its DDR2, finding proper RAM for it is a pain. I need to get myself an unlocked CPU to play with it, my E5450 I bought to mess around with, as much as it is a better bin, caps out at 4.3Ghz at 520-530 on FSB, the clock skew messes up after that and Cinebench just doesn't run at all and Windows 10 says its corrupted.

    • @TheQuentincc
      @TheQuentincc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arwlyx It depend if you want to use it for bench or h24, it's hard to find good clocking 2GB stick, as for the CPU you probably don't need an unlocked one, a good Q9550/Q9650 or X5460/X5470 should be fine, with my EP45s I'm getting over 4.6GHz stable with an Q9550 :)
      Hgh FSB is very important on these quad core chip, the architecture is very limited by memory bandwidth which is limited by the FSB speed, it is less true on DDR2 stick but on DDR3 it's the case, although finding an EP45T which can handle both 550+ FSB and 2GHz DDR3 on dual channel is nearly impossible

      Those are nice, with FX-8350 at 1.7 Vcore (350w since the temp is so low) the max block temp after a while of is -35c under stress testing. My LCD finally went out recently (like most did with the flaky controller), so now I’ll have to get a new thermal display system but at least I know if it’s doing great with FX that any Ryzen will be totally fine and run colder.
      You’ll find that it’s very easy to zip tie one of the larger clam shells to AM4 if you do use Ryzen (same with AM2/3/3+). Unfortunately it’s not big enough for Threadripper, so I’m designing a new evap block for TR4 right now to CNC and then make a monster multi-stage cascade for when TR-64 core comes out (I’m wanting that at -100c as my next daily upgrade). I do hope they surprise lunch those chips soon!

    Tento setup nie je vôbec zlý. Veľa ludí poznám čo stále používajú Core 2 quad procesory. Jeden kamarát mal spravený server na minecraft s použitímCore 2 quad procesoru tusim to bolo to 2.66GHz Q6600 , v biose ho nataktoval na 3.4 a server mu zvládol utiahnuť aj 40 ludí pripojených. Dokonca som videl jeden benchmark na dusíku pretaktovaný Core 2 extreme 6 aj niečo GHz a v GTA 5 dal 70fps 1080p max settings s 1080tkou. Takže vôbec nie je zlý a čo sa týka cinebenchuR15tky tak 500 pointov na 4 jadro nie je vobec zlé. Moja i7 2600 3.8GHz dá 640 a je to virtuálne 8 jadro 4C/8T

    actually, the q9 series of core2quads are really still capable in gaming with newer titles. . I still rocking a q9650 overclock it to 4 ghz partnerd with 8gb ddr3 rams and a good p45 mobo then a gtx 960 4gb vc. . still can play most new titles such as far cry 5 and such. . :)

    Intel Pentium D 3.6 GHz на материнке P5WD2-Premium в своё время на воздухе разгонял до 5.0 GHz. Работал он стабильно, но грелся и через час-полтора выключался. Но на постоянке я сидел при 4.6-4.7 GHz. У меня и скрины были и видео, но винт сгорел со всеми фотками...
