Frankie Knuckles made a masterpiece out of this. Michael Jackson is one of a kind. I actually love this remix to death and I couldn’t stop playing it at all. R.I.P. Michael Jackson & Frankie Knuckles!!!
Michael Jackson, you are intensely missed. I am so grateful that I was alive when you were to know first hand the spell that you cast on the world. The world is a better place for you having lived and created the art that you did. You gave us so much joy and happiness. Respect to Frankie Knuckles. Thank you for sharing all your gifts with us!!
It all started here baby - It all started in Chicago's Southside in 1977, when a new kind of club opened. This new Chicago club called The Warehouse gave House music its name. Frankie Knuckles, who opened The Warehouse, mixed old disco classics and new Eurobeat pop.
I wake up this morning only to find that Frankie has gone,The Godfather Of House who was on a mission to bring ordinary people together from all walks of life to let go of their worries,to dance and rejoice in the celebration of life through his music.Mission accomplished Frankie,Rest In Peace...
Hearing this for the first time luv the intro, thinking if this is Frankie Knuckles where's the drop, 1:40 in and bang there it is you never disappoint Mr Knuckles magic pure magic 🥰🥰🕺🕺🔥🔥
A true masterpiece from Frankie Knuckles..even more so today than ever.. Thank You Michael for all of these years of making people smile, think and dance.. You will never be forgotten.. LONG LIVE THE KING..R.I.P.
...Yet another FANTASTIC remix by Frankie Knuckles that takes me down memory lane! It's hard to believe that this song is over 30 years old and I still want to get up and jam today just as much as I did during my childhood! Priceless, timeless & always fabulous... May both Frankie & Michael RIP! Both legacies will live on & will always endure the test of time...
R.I.P Mr. Knuckles... I use to sneek out in the middle of the night to go listen to Frankie do his thing. I use to see just about every notable DJ in the city there to hear him. And none of us were old enough to be there
I forget the dj but they played this in the DoLab at coachella 2014. Blew my mind. Love Frankie knuckles and MJ’s music but had never heard this. The energy in that tiny area was damn electric. The dj drew out the intro and teased other mj vocal licks while only the drums where playing. The crowd went f’ing nuts when MJ started screaming. 2-3k people singing and dancing along in perfect unison. Ohhh and that breakdown, switch into a different song and then loop right back around to “rock with me”.
miss you Mr Knuckles, I am so happy that you touched my musical life. I will always remember you. Take this track, how the hell do you imagine this in the first place, this is just wonderful.
Unbelievable music from both Frankie and MJ! The melodies intertwine like chocolate and peanut butter candy. Ageless and sweet! RIP Frankie and MJ. Heaven is going to be fun!
The mix at the beginning is simply the middle of the song with new music dropped out and a beautiful string arrangement by Frankie and great piano by Peter Schwartz or Terry Burrus...
Shocked hearing the news at 8am this morning. Just 59... True pioneer of Chicago House Music and one of the main reasons I got into House in the first place around 1987. 'Your Love' the inspiration for Candi Staton's version - sublime record. What a legacy he's left behind.
Wow I remember the first time I heard Frankie play this, it was one of his reunion parties at the Crobar in Chicago. He also busted out with his remix of Earth,Wind & Fire - Reasons.
Dear Mr. Knuckles, Please transport these words of LOVE with you as you transition out of this world. I thank youuuuuuuu sooooooo much for your genius through your music and prductions. From the first time I heard "Tears," I was hooked on your music and house music as a whole. I had just broken up with a girlfriend and I heard the song on KJLH in L.A. . This song saved my life because the rhythm, lyrics, production, harmonies. mixed with your LOVE and genius spoke to my soul in my time of despair. I just wanted to say 'thank you' even though I have not met you. May these wods travel with you into the beyond. Condolences to all of his family and friends! The "House Music World" and Music Industry mourns with you. Let's imagine we were at the WAREHOUSE or Traxx New York dancing our cares away. I shall forever LOVE and cherish you for changing my life.
I was there that night too--though I believe it was at the Soundfactory Bar at the time...still an awesome night and an awesome remix by the incomparable Frankie Knuckles...
R.I.P. Michael - I hope to hear some new grooves, when I´ll see you back in heaven! This remix becomes my favourite since his dead-it got soul, emotions & ties up the past with the present! This man has never anything done to any child & any other who claim any other opion is a bad bad liar. Michael got some personal opions, which didn´t fit into today, but he was a good father & a wonderful, great artist. You´ll live on with your music & I´ll love your sounds till the end of my time!
@williewill037 you are so right! michael jackson was and still is KING OF DISCO, Motown Records should have a Kings and Queens of Disco World Tour, to cherish and honor the best disco artists, the Jackson 5 should be there with visual images on large plasma screen of Michael. There should also be a Michael Jackson museum
Simplesmente Lindo! Grande legado Deixou Frankie Knuckles, e conheci através de Dj Même Programa Festa da Cidade (Rádio Cidade RJ) bons tempos, anos 90.
It´s a shame, the world lost his biggest music entertainer. After nearly a week I can´t believe this has happened & sometimes it seems Michael had enough of this miserable world. The 50 concerts was a big pressure he couldn´t stand! he wasn´t any more in his twenties or thirties, he was 50 without the regular training! It´s a shame!
I will always remember our laughs in your DJ booth and your music which has always transcended me on the dance floor. a loving friendship of 23 years was a gift and I will forever cherish that. Thank you, Frankie for the beautiful memories. RIP my friend.
To me Mike was given to us by the hands of god, since birth till his death this man made us believe, made us have hope in life with his music. the earth has lost a very very important human being. yes we miss him but if you believe in the after life..we shall meet him once again not for 50 yrs but eternal..thanks Mike for everything.
Se me puso la piel chinita al leer éste comentario. Y si, es totalmente lo que yo también creo, una persona que revolucionó el mundo de la música y gracias a él, inspiró a muchos artistas a sacar su música.
There is a mix where the drums don't come in until almost the very end. It's basically strings and pianos (absolutely gorgeous) but Sony never released it. The plan originally was for a Double CD of remixes to come out as a companion the HIStory but it was shelved when MJ's legal troubles started. I'm sure that all of this will now be released. RIP MJ.
A classic soul funk classic from 1980 by the legendary Michael jackson Rock with you remixed by the godfather of House music Frankie Knuckles RIP to both of you sadly missed today. thankyou for the memories your status will live on forever.
This is a wonderful master work of the original! But It has an almost mystical quality to it as if Michael is far away in another dimension, able only to break through enough to be heard for one last time. Very intriguing remix!
Michael, you´re gone & you took my youth with you. Your albums "Off the Wall" & "Thriller" was the best period of my life & you were a big part of it. I´ll miss you & this fantastic time! R.I.P
Loved you MJ. Your music lives on and no one will ever ever come close to the quality and the funk that you produced! Im so lucky to have seen you once in concert in Dublin back in 1992.
Wow! My two idols combined in one great song! Thank you Michael Jackson and Frankie Knuckles for your fantastic music. You were both genius and ahead of your time! Miss you so...😢
Thanks for reinventing House and bringing the world closer as they groove, Frankie Knuckles! Your work inspired so many artists in their basements and let them know they had the creative power to disrupt industries and to change the world.
THE most beautiful MJ song remixed by the best mix master, the godfather of house music, Mr. Melanacholy Frankie Knuckles. I LOVE THIS SONG AND ITS CLASSIC REMIX forever and a day!
He released this version back in either 1995 or 1996. I remember picking up the edited version of this remix around '96 at either Musicland or Camelot Music.
This is how you remix/cover a song. Put some creativity in it, not just Kareoke fug it over. Yeah it's MJ redoing his song but Frankie put DAT FOOT in it! Kicked it to another level!
The intro alone is mind blowing...
Pure Frankie Knuckles. He is the only one who can do an intro like that. May both rest in peace!!!
