great video mate, more great driving and skills on display! sorry to hear about the skip job but dare say council are very happy to have you back! you're doing well getting 1500 bins on a 2 x 10 tonne round, we are struggling to get 550 bins on a 26t dennis atm and having to split rounds up to mop them up with a spare!
Staffing is always a struggle However we do well with who we have Perhaps 1500 is an exaggeration but we certainly do 1000+ a day, many, many, many streets and estates of waste
I know what you mean mate but then you have people not paying any attention to you boys working through good knows ware and what not but know I have been in you position I can understand what you have to go through and I have got your back but I hope you and your other team member are well and hope you have a great day tomorrow
I'm starting this job on Monday through an agency £16.25 an hour and 6:30 to roughly 3:30. Monday to Friday and decent money. I'm a bit worried as I'm a new driver but I passed my assessment and my instructor said the main thing is to watch the overhang and swing at the back and to use all the space possible

How do you deal with people who drive around the truck as if there is no-one working around it? People drive like lunatics around my truck and it boils my piss. I get so, so angry about it. I try to ignoree it but to no avail
How anyone can reasonably expect to, shouting, swearing, full beams and horns! I have seen some mad stuff throughout the years on trucks & buses. Keep doing what you're doing my guy, shiny side up etc. 👋 🏴
Great content mate. Nice driving. We in Aberystwyth just had a Dennis some drivers are scared to drive it🤣I'd love to drive it. I've asked to do my hgv it's been three months still nothing heard about it.
Thank you for watching, you are too complimentary. Press home the point about HGV training, maybe if they sense you may move on they'll put yourself through it.
I love that you don't do stupid editing and no annoying background music it makes it so much more watchable right through. What is the actual rules regarding seatbelts for loaders? I realize it from a common sense point of view that it is slow speed for short distances but what is the actual rule?
Jump cuts, background music and trashy/cringe mugshot thumbnails are very much not my thing. Granted I don't have a hi-tech computer suite to edit with, I wouldn't stoop to that level of content. Seatbelts, if provided must be worn. Exemption for drivers for journeys under 50m or Doctor's certificate. Loaders? I don't imagine they can slide past that, I can sympathise the irritation they cause, especially the reciever poking out the base of the seat.
Hi I’m Dylan I’m a binmen too down in the East Sussex area working for Biffa look at 6.27 time how the bins are moved out to the road for you all ready to jump on to them get get them in the truck just an added advise put the handles near the road as you can pull the bin to the road spin them round and put them on. Thought it might help I work in Uckfield Hailsham or Hastings depos
Great video’s man. Just found your channel it’s great to watch for in bed n all. Could you put all the episodes in a playlist? And why do you guys have to manually put them closer to the streets? Here in holland you need to put your bin to the curve and people put 2 next to eachother, leave space, put 2 (they use an automatic arm which picks up 2 at a time) i saw a video of this in america and they will get the bin out of the front of the house all the way down the driveway and put them back there 😂
Hello friend, thanks for watching. Your playlist request has been actioned. We do it this way because it's the UK & little works properly. I consider myself fortunate they had wheelie bins than sacks of waste dumped at the kerbside such as where I live now. USA is built around automobiles and convenience, hence their 1 operator trash collection.
Grass wasn't greener on the other side, so I have come back to what I know. It was filmed in 1440p/2.7k, I imagine YT is still processing the higher quality
Absolutely Love it!! I'll be starting with Rotherham council next year, got several videos with all trucks:) and just noticed that's VX16 AUF, my regular wagon on General is VX16 AUR! Ahah
Biffa staff in Sussex were on strike recently. They're complaining about a few things, but one of the main things they're unhappy about, is that they're being given ridiculous, impossible rounds to do!
As an agency driver and they say I got a a job for you as a dustman can you choose what type of lorry you want to drive and the size of the bin you want to do or do you just get put where ever the council or the agency says
For checking there are no cyclists and pedestrians directly in front of the vehicle before setting off. Due to the height of the vehicle if you missed someone starting to cross in front you, there is a chance their height would be obscured by the dashboard
you shouldnt need to put handbrake on everytime you stop at a bin, I only put handbrake on every once in a whlle to give my foot a rest. Each to their own but that would do my head in. enjoy your channel other than that small aspect lol
The Harry Clark Glasgow incident shows why I practice handbrake discipline, any stoppage more than a few seconds warrants application (what I was taught years ago)
No prior experience necessary, quite a simple job to get into. Due to high turn over most councils will use a local employment agency to supply staff. No qualifications needed, just a deep reserve of willpower and no desire to earn lots of money. However, it has little responsibility or outside worries, it is "straightforward" and has decentish hour. Potentially very hazardous and you will likely be unappreciated and seen as the scourge of motorists.
@@GenerateGodx councils won't put you through a HGV test unless you're a reliable, long term, full time employed colleague. When I left, their desperation for drivers made them put some trust worthy loaders through their HGV 2.
For an extra household bin or garden waste? Extra tonnage has to be accounted for somehow. Strictly 1 black bin (no overflow or side waste) and 2 garden bins maximum in Chelmsford.
