You either get the sounds of a boat rocking or a steam engine running its like god forbid we get both engine running and ship rocking in the same video. The same goes for train sounds you either get the sound of tracks only or engine running only. Again god forbid we get the tracks and engine in the same video.
Best sleep l remember is (post ex) swaddled in diesel stinky truck cam nets in a 3 tonne,not sold? Yes, you're right, I've been on 3 cruises, although the sounds of the engines kind of fade into the background as you're going about your daily travels on the ship, it's not until the ship docks and shuts down that you realize just how much noise it was actually making. I loved going on the balcony in the early morning and looking at the rising sun. And just enjoying the peace of the sea.

Just imagine you're lying in bed in a big ship somewhere in the middle of the ocean, in the middle of nowhere. And you're in the middle of a great storm with the scary and dark never ending depth of the ocean right beneath you, but yet you're all protected and safe from that. Do this while lying in bed. Perfect for falling asleep.
Im an engineer on a ship in the North sea and every time i Come home i struggle to sleep the first nights because its to quiet. Its Just so weird not hearing the constant background noice from the engines and the ship moving thru the seas
I was a sea scout, mixed junior girl troops/boy troops, learning to master the wind & glide the waves from early on in life with your best mates was truly a blessing & a big adventure, we slept in the small sailboats & sometimes we went ashore to make a camp & sang songs & told stories around the campfire & star gazing, i learnt so much about camraderie & maintaining good spirits in every weather & setbacks, it was truly a lifetime experience trying to solve your way out of stuff if things didnt go according to what one had in mind, and we built a lot of our stuff too just with wood & rope. @@blastfromthepast7119 I was in an aircraft carrier, my bunk was in the back of the ship but pretty close to the water line. You can't hear the water, the ships have ac units and sometimes they are loud. You can feel the waves rock you and it makes you fall asleep. When you go out for a smoke, that's when you hear the ocean and the power of the water is a different sound. No audio on youtube can duplicate what it really sounds like.
This helps me a lot with my writing. I;m writing about a cruise, and at one part my ship is travelling within rainy cloudy, cold weather. These sounds make me feel that I'm actually on board! Thank you.

I remember when I was in practice as an a Engine Cadet, we were going from China to Panama, and we didnt have storm, we just had heavy rain and 3meter big waves, and trust me before sleep, it is so calming and relaxing.... The most peacful place for me is on the ship, I'm made for job at sea... 🙏
First cruise I went on with my family it rained and thundered, the ship rocked all over the place, my Sister was seasick, so were others with us, we were tossed around a lot, I said to the Butler we had when he came around "Now I know what a pepper shaker feels like". I wasn't too much as I remembered something a friend in Day Camp once told me on a fishing trip at Captree on Long Island where I live, he told me "If you're ever seasick, look out on the horizon, you know why? It's the only thing not moving". It worked, Thanks Adam.
I wouldn't call myself a sailor, but I've been in a crew of a ship once, when others couldn't sleep at night because of heavy swaying and the loud sound of waves crashing against us, I was calmed by it, probably the most well-slept person on the ship lol.
I’m a sailor from the JMSDF and I’m amazed how accurate this is. Is sounds really real the pouring rain, waves splashing against the hull, the sound of the engines, the rolling and pitching of the vessel together with the wind and creaking bulkheads.
Thank you so much. A lot of efforts goes into the sourcing and the making of these soundscapes. I try to be as faithful as possible to the real thing, though people - on the internet - will expect the real thing to actually sound better than it is in reality. I have to find a good balance to please everyone.
This one wins strangest comment section for today. Maaaybe, it's the noise making everyone weird. ha ha ha hmmm. Having said that, I like this sound and quite a few others here. Went to the thing-a-ma-jiggy site but just made me feel really dumb. Too complicated for this little old brain of mine, ("old" being the key word) Some of us old far...people, did not grow up with computers or phones glued to their heads and, yes of course, we just do not understand the world of technology. We try like hell but then again, who WANTS to understand "the new world order? I know more than I want too! Anyway, I honestly, seriously think your channel has the best sound I've heard on any video I've listened to on you tube. Really, fantastic. Would like more 10 hour videos - Wind with just a dash of low pitched wind chimes. Older Trains rumbling down the tracks. Ocean Waves - Crashing waves, not little lapping against the shore waves. Hunters Beach Maine. My personal favorite sound. Found it on Spotify. Could't believe it was there. It is in Acadia, Maine. Very unique sound. Any and all nature SANS birds! How often do you think, this would be perfect without the damn seagulls, crows, ect. I love birds just not when I'm trying to sleep!!! Ok my old lady rant is done. Again, Thank you so much. Great channel and incredibly beneficial to so many of us who can't sleep or just can't stand people noise. Night all.

Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into her side, Chief. We was comin’ back from the island of Tinian to Leyte. We’d just delivered the bomb. The Hiroshima bomb. Eleven hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in 12 minutes. Didn’t see the first shark for about a half-hour. Tiger. 13-footer. You know how you know that in the water, Chief? You can tell by lookin’ from the dorsal to the tail. What we didn’t know, was that our bomb mission was so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didn’t even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin’ by, so we formed ourselves into tight groups. It was sorta like you see in the calendars, you know the infantry squares in the old calendars like the Battle of Waterloo and the idea was the shark come to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin’ and hollerin’ and sometimes that shark he go away…..but sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark looks right at ya. Right into your eyes. And the thing about a shark is he’s got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn’t even seem to be livin'…..’til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then… ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin’. The ocean turns red, and despite all your poundin’ and your hollerin’ those sharks come in and…..they rip you to pieces. You know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I don’t know how many sharks there were, maybe a thousand. I do know how many men, they averaged six an hour. Thursday mornin’, Chief, I bumped into a friend of mine, Herbie Robinson from Cleveland. Baseball player. Boson’s mate. I thought he was asleep. I reached over to wake him up. He bobbed up, down in the water, he was like a kinda top. Upended. Well, he’d been bitten in half below the waist. At noon on the fifth day, a Lockheed Ventura swung in low and he spotted us, a young pilot, lot younger than Mr. Hooper here, anyway he spotted us and a few hours later a big ol’ fat PBY come down and started to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened. Waitin’ for my turn. I’ll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb. ~ Captain Quint, Jaws

Strangely...that's my kind of happy place... to imagine shits going wrong but, if I stay in a specific way, I get this tingly feeling in me that makes me feel nice and good. Strangely enough, is increased if I need to pee :/, like, it's like you feel like you cant go because somethingll happen, and it's not immediate of a need, but it I guess increases the... good? Anxiety? If that's a thing? I'm weird I know that much, but I'm sure theres an explanation to it. Lol. But yeah, tldr, I agree with you with that feeling, and that its strangely my go to happy sleep place in my mind.

I wouldn't want to go to slleep. I'd be wide awake, lifejacket on, checking my radio beacon for the umpteenth time, working out the quickest way from my cabin to the lifeboat and trying not to think of Titanic or Cast Away.

I am a sailor, the most present sound is the purring of the engine, the small vibrations that propagate in the hull. It's very nice.

I wouldn't want to go to slleep. I'd be wide awake, lifejacket on, checking my radio beacon for the umpteenth time, working out the quickest way from my cabin to the lifeboat and trying not to think of Titanic or Cast Away.
