    My mom from Ghana, Dad from Montego Bay Jamaica, and I was born and raised in Georgetown DC, my first girlfriend now my wife from Ghana, we have been in Ghana for 5 times now building apartments for rent in ABURI MOUNTAINS just 15 minutes drive to the Nation's capital. Moving to the Motherland is the best decision. Why?because there's no place like African continent, the safest place on this earth 🌍🇬🇭🇯🇲

      @@offthewheel just came across your channel and love the information you provide. I am Guyanese and my wife is Ghanaian residing in Canada. She will be coming home after about 12 yrs in about 2 weeks.
      She will be there to get a feel of the land in terms of of buying land( commercial and residential) and real estate.
      We are in our early 40s and thinking and planning where we want to retire and what to do. Ghana seems to be a perfect fit.
      On a side note: love Mitai. Our (Guyanese) history is linked to Ghana - our national hero is Cuffy (Kofi) and there is documentation of slaves who were born in Ghana and brought to Guyana.

  • @GUYANAECHO
    @GUYANAECHO 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It's my opinion that Guyana is like a mini Ghana. Cuffy the 1763 monument in my profile is an Akan that was sold into slavery who led a revolt against the Dutch owners of the Magdalenburg plantation in Berbice Guyana. Dale you are a warrior!

    • @lovelaceowusu-asante1725
      @lovelaceowusu-asante1725 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just to put it out there that Cuffy is Kofi (a given name for a male born on Friday) . It’s definitely an Akan name - Ghanaian name . 2000 years of history cannot be wiped away so easily .

    Black people have their roots in Africa and whilst they have every right to return to motherand from the diaspora my concern has always been and continue to be the impacts local in terms of costs of everything as they move in with their dollars etc the economy becomes dollarised. We are already seeing this happening.

    • @offthewheel
      @offthewheel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is an issue that we aim to explore.
      As victims of gentrification at various times in our live (see video # 2) we are very aware of the impact we bring; both good and bad.
      Is the answer total isolation for all African countries to not allow in any kind of foreign investment?
      Is there not a game plan that we could create that would be a net net positive?
      These are questions we will cover in our video that I alluded to about the impact of the Black American Dollar in Ghana.
      If you are interested in providing your point of view for that video, please let me know.

      Good day,
      Price is relative.
      There are many places in Ghana we could not afford.
      So we all have to be financially responsible with what we have and we can stretch it over a lifetime.
      We have both lived in all kinds of arrangements here in the states; housed, condos, townhouses, etc.
      We just picked what we were used to and what made sense for US at this age/stage in life.
      Thank you for the comments.

    I just found you on TH-cam. I'll watch the remaining videos and decide if I want to join your group. Overall, I enjoy the videos, but I have a few suggestions.
    1. In this video, you talked about all the things you had to buy but didn't mention the cost of anything that you bought. THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT FOLKS LIKE ME WANT TO KNOW!!! In fututre videos, please tell us how much things cost. I know the costs may be outdated by the time someone sees the video, but it will still give us some idea of what to expect. Please give the prices in both Cedis and dollars.
    2. It's better if you let her talk more and you talk less. You speak very slowly and hesitantly and you have long pauses as you speak. It makes it hard to hold peoples' attention. I found myself dozing off when you spoke. She makes her point quickly and efficiently. If you can speak faster and make your point. It would be very helpful.
    3. When you cut in your videos of things that you do, make them longer. You just show the videos for a few seconds and then cut back to the main video. The segment of you on the boat going to the beach was good. Take that much time for all the segments you use in your videos.
    Please continue to show us your journey. It's very interesting. I'll be traveling to Ghana this summer and the information you're providing is very helpful.

      Africans listen more to Europeans, Chinese and any one whose skin is not black, than they would listen to black Americans so the fight will be on you. As soon as AA get involved they will be the first ones to be kicked out look at all the gold and diamonds that the Chinese are shipping g home. Did you see that big Rock on a truck the Chinese had loaded up to ship to China, they probably knew it had diamonds in side, what happen to it I don't know.

    Guys, I'm getting some vibes that you folks are somewhat looking for America in AFRICA ? ? Africa isn't America or Europe, don't go to AFRICA looking for America or industrialization on STEROIDS. Africa is closer to NATURE, still precious, much less tainted, and with more purity. America and Europe can keep their industrialization on STEROIDS, Africa doesn't need to copy and be just like them. When you're in AFRICA, learn to appreciate and VALUE the AFRICAN way of life and things. Africa don't need stores like Target, Marshalls, etc, that promote more environmental pollution in consumption of items such as, plastics for housewares, etc. Or maybe, I got the wrong vibe about you folks being a bit BOOGEE or so. Anyways, SALUTE 👉🏾✌🏾👍🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

    38 mins, I thought the fridge wasn't good at all, I was afraid that that is what you were going to say, but this "European" plug thing is not an Issue, you guys are too pampered,, I bought a water cooker and that has European plug and I had to buy a switch board to reconnect so dear friends, no big deal, in my opinion, but nice video and akwaaba

    ON the matter of the coke it takes different even for the regular coke because what you taste is not sugar but stevia which is a plant sweetener. You can even faintly taste the chlorophyll in the stevia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevia
