Im pretty sure you have figured it out cuz you probably played ahead, but to dodge you press x. to block attacks its L1 (rush doesn't block but parry and evade). R1 (lock to enemy) is wonky when facing multiple and can be bad for camera angles too. You can free roam the city anytime when you are not doing a story mission or when certain places are blocked. Just a little tip, brawler is your "normal" style in this game and is the most balance style, rush is good when you want to fill up your heat, some good combos, and get away. Rush is not that strong until you upgrade it more and you can't grab enemies. the last style is the heaviest hitter but the slowest of the bunch. good for taking down crowds.
Loving this playthrough so far :) Yakuza 0 is my favorite game of all time. (And I'm really impressed that you managed to get through the Dojima headquarters section without knowing how to focus on an enemy!)
I think my past comment got deleted somehow so lemme just touch on the pointers you may have missed: - Ah yes you can search the steam forums for a mod that changes the prompts to PS buttons - Holding R1 focuses your character towards a nearby enemy, so you always face them, great for 1 on 1 fights - Experiment with all heat actions! Keep an eye out for the Heat action icon in all situations. Using a weapon, grabbing someone, countering an attack and so on. You can check out all your possible heat actions in the Abilities menu - The thing that pops up when you do certain actions, like (Defeated 100 enemies X/100) are Completion points. When you do enough of a certain activity, you will get points. You can redeem these points at the shrine in town for many benefits! Don’t forget to speak to the clown too! 🤡
hey guys so I need your input: should I record substories or nah?
Record it all!
Yes
Substories are half the fun in these games! I vote for yes!
