Nesting and fledging Upupa hoope

In this film made in Corte Franca campaigns, Cavarzere (VE), you can observe the life of three young Upupe few days before flying away.
The parents take turns feeding the little ones, they are brought larvae of various species and in an occasion also what appears to be a small beetle.
The three young Upupe in the first days of filming remained inside the hollow of the old willow tree, then as they grew older they are increasingly exposed much that day
before fledging they were standing at the entrance of the nest trying to hunt ants passing on the trunk.
Thanks to these locations has been possible to document for the first time the nesting of this species in the company, observe its behavior and feeding of small.
Now the three young people will have time to acquire all the experience required for migration they will face at the end of summer, next summer, if all goes well, I will have again a fantastic opportunity to be able to observe this wonderful bird.
