My pool drinks acid like beer on a hot sunny day. I’m using 6 to 12 cups a week on a 15 thousand gallons pool. Is that normal? I put borax at your suggestion but didn’t seem to help. I have a salt water with a jacuzzi with a small spillway. I keep my alkalinity at 100 .How many cups of acid do you guys use per week in your pool? I’ve asked that question many times with no good response. And I’m using Leslie 30% acid Thanks
This is how I clean my filters, I went to Home Depot bought a medium size plastic trash can and a drain spout. So I took a razor and cut a hole at the bottom of the trash can and screwed the drain on the bottom of the trash can. I then put the trash can with a drain and sat it on my sewage drain at home to clean my filters. I spray my filters with the water hose inside the trash bin, everything goes down my sewer line.I did this because the DE powder killed my grass. Lol How do you clean your filters ? and where does your DE powder go when cleaned.
Yes. In the field I notice the 20 Mule Team Borax does not raise the Alkalinity by much. Just had a friend in AZ dumb in 25 lbs and the aLK went up only 38 ppm.
My new saltwater pool has very high PH according to the test strips so I added a half gallon of muriatic acid and I didn’t notice a change. Should I add more acid?
Great informative podcast. I am strongly considering adding borates to my vinyl in ground pool. Since my “sweet spot” (Pentair 1st generation) salt generator output has been set to 60% output perhaps I can lower it to 40% while maintaining the water balance. Thank You
What if my ph is 7.6 but alkalinity is 30ppm. Should I add an alkalinity increaser?
Yes. Baking Soda will only raise pH slightly
I have only been adding 12oz of Muriatic Acid at a time (every 4 hours). Is that the max I should add? Thanks for ALL of your great podcasts!
Might be too little. I don't add more than 1/2 gallon at a time.

Lower your Alkalinity to 70 ppm and see if that helps. Reduce your Salt system output to 50% or lower.

This was an incredible podcast. So many questions answered and learned a lot. Great job!!!
***Is it Still okay to use borax as the source of borates?

You probably will need to add more. But usually never more than 1/2 gallon within 3 hours.
@@SPL thank you for your input I really appreciate it. Once I get the PH under control do you recommend I start adding borates as well?

Where’s all the muriatic acid!!??
Everything seems to be running out...
This is unbelievable. People need to get back to work
