He understood what Stan went through at that low moment and saw the best out of it. That's what Stan needed, someone to understand and empathize with his pain and give perspective, something his other friends werent able to do in the episode.
DaveyLeeRiot Thanks. 😊 And I really agree with your original post too. I just had to watch this scene again, because I really feel like butters right now. It’s so relatable. I’ve fallen in love with someone that doesn’t love me back. 😔 And it hurts so much, that it’s made me cry so much today. 😥 And I don’t want to give up on love or living my life because of it. 😣
I had tears when Butters cried. Despite South Park being all about crude jokes, this episode actually hits home. From experience, a break up is really tough. But you take the bad with the good, and you learn from previous relationships to prepare you on who your next partner will be ( which hopefully leads to marriage one day).
yeah.. South Park IS a comedy and most of it is jokes but there’s some episodes that are so sad- and beautiful.. like Raisins, Kenny dies, etc. they really hit hard, almost every episode Kyle, near the end says “I learned something today..” and he did, the show is actually full of lessons and emotional moments despite it being funny aswell
Amen to that. Despite all the heartbreak along the way, the moment my wife said "I do", all that misery, all the sleepless nights, all of it became worth it.
That's the beauty of the show. It's informed humor told with crude jokes. I've learned so much from the show inadvertently. I'll go to look into something more an realise, holy shit, that got it all right
@@barbosa7068 Thanks Barbosa! I try to inspire other people. Life is one day at a time. You take lemons and make them into lemonade. Like Butters said: “you take the bad with the good.”👊🏾
You have to respect Butter for knowing his identity especially in highschool where a lot of people pretend who they're really not. I respect people like him.
They say "The best revenge is a life well lived" because at the end of the day moving on and getting stronger through your trials and traumas is only going to lead to better things. Plus, exes hate seeing you doing better than when you were with them.
Butters was absolutely the most precious don't get me wrong. But how soft Stan's voice was when he saw that it was Butters crying was also absolutely beautiful. Plus "no. No that's not dumb at all" with his voice still soft was precious as well.
I always loved that Stan still reaches out to the goth kids after this. Even if he doesn’t wanna be in their clique, he still wants to continue being friends on some level
Honestly, this episode deserved an Emmy and so did Butters for his entire performance in it. ...well, I mean the third-grade Hooters aspect of this episode probably made that impossible, but I'm just saying, overall, there was some amazing stuff going on. 🤣
It feels like this show has been around forever, and it sorta has. Pretty amazing to think that several generations have grown up watching it, and there's a ton of people watching it now that weren't even born when it first aired. Pretty sure we all went thru a 'South Park is life' obsession at one point or another in our lives. All that being said, who woulda thunk that Butters would be so awesome when they were first introduced to the character? It takes a while to hit you, but when it does it's undeniable, as this great clip demonstrates... Butters. He's the f*cking _man._
100% agreed. i’m obsessed right now lol, my step-dad grew up watching South Park and introduced me to it, it’s really strengthened my relationship with him. pretty much my whole family loves it. Butters is definitely an amazing character, he’s been through a lot of bullying and all sorts of trouble, and his parents.. but he still smiles and makes us smile, he *is* a fictional character, but he does have an impact on us, they all do, love them.
This episode is so perfect with the tandem storylines of Stan getting dumped and Butters' exhiliration of new love. Butter's revelation "I love life" amid the pain of being dumped is the perfect payoff
As much as I would choose to join the goth kids I really do think Butters is amazing when he said that he still wanted to not give up on life and I think in my opinion excluding Wendy and stan South Park Butters should be the only one in South Park to find his special someone feels true love because he really does need it he has been through so much in his life it's like no one cares for him in south park besides Kenny but besides that I think in future I hope for butters to find someone who truly loves him for just being himself
This made me cry but at the same time it made me happy because i learned a valuable lesson that is what always butters do. be happy and always try to not be sad Extra: 1:51 that moment was TOTALLY DESERVED Token right here buddy 🖕 BUTTERS IS THE BEST CHARACTER ON SOUTH PARK AND MY FAVOURITE (i think)
Ok I know this is both really touching and pretty funny but is no one going to talk about the hot fire Butters spat at the goths at the end? Seriously! That was an epic burn followed a power move of an exit
It's true. Life will dose you with equal parts joy and sorrow. It's physics. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You must understand - our emotions do not exist outside the universe.
Like many, I've left pieces of my heart in many different places throughout my life. Especially early on, the break ups were painful, and as life went on, they became easier to accept, but now, I am with someone who brings out the best in me and thankfully gets the more finished product than those before her. But without those mistakes of the past, my blessing of the present wouldn’t be. I am grateful for the broken roads that I have traveled on throughout my life, because they led me to my true soulmate. The moment she said "I do", the pain, the heartbreak, the misery, and the sleepless nights all became worth it. This is one of my favorite episodes for many reasons, but without a doubt, the ending message is what will stay with me forever. And the cherry on top was Stan using Cartman’s line on the goth kids, showing that, for all of his enormous flaws, Cartman still matters to Stan. He still values him as a person, even if he shouldn't, and he realizes that he still has so many that care about him and still so much to live for, and that is wonderful to see.
We just lost our family pet today and I searched this video out. Fucking South Park man…they really have a knack for stumbling backwards into some wholesome, uplifting shit.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Butters. Sure he’s been stupid and annoying sometimes but he’s also a very wholesome character who just wants to be happy
Think about it this way, when your sad you should be happy because you have something to make you feel that sadness you bring the bad with the good and there is going to be a lot of painful moments in life you have do your best to get through it.
Yep it really hurts to be heart broken like u don't know what to do anymore but cry all the time. but sometimes i need to learn that everyone went and will go through pain and if they can handle it so can u and me :> THANK YOU

Butters literally helped Stan and a lot of depressed people

Reminds me of that scene where Stan is crying that Kyle could die and Kenny gets pissed so he screams "Screw you guys, I'm going home"
Butters completely changed Stan with just his words. Edit: I’m glad the Goth kids didn’t make fun of Butters. They felt empathy for him.
The goth kids seem to actually have empathy for people
Worse though is that despite the Goth Kids showing empathy for Butters, he decided to make fun of the Goth Kids.
Most goths are actually sweet and caring
In a way it seems like they're empathy is toxic. They want to keep wallowing in the misery instead of growing from it. That's not really healthy.
This is why butters is the best character on the show, hes so pure yet so relatable
and in South Park, the purest of hearts get the most pain (physically and mentally)
Stan took wisdom from Butters, and cartman. Screw you guys, im going home
