You are wrong. Just saying 800kv motors is not enough. These s500 frames are heavy. Your common 22mm motors won't do. You'll need in the neighborhood of 32+ for correct proportionality for this frame and 11' props or you will get very little flight time with smaller motors trying to keep these heavy frames aloft.
I'm more of a software guy and don't have much experience with the hardware side of things. I have a CC ( Jetson nano ) that also needs energy from the battery. How would you connect everything plus the CC I just mentioned ? The CC receives 5v 4amps

Hello Mary. In this video I used PULSE 2250mAh 3S 45C battery to power the quadcopter. However, in the real flight, I use 5000mAh battery for better flight time. 3DR radios are devices that provide an air-to-ground data link between the autopilot and your ground station laptop tablet or smart phone. You can see telemetry information such as GPS location, battery voltage/amp, altitude, flight direction and etc. while you're flying your drone. I didn't include 3DR radio in this video, but I did upgrade my S500 with 3DR radio and FPV gear later.

Hi mate. I am in need of some help please. I have been following all of the videos on how to setup the APM, I have the APM Arducopter 2.8, I dont have any external compass's yet, so all i have is the receiver and a power module which is a GM ver. 1.0. So, when I move the Throttle stick to the right for 5 seconds to Arm the Controller, 2 of the motors spin at low speed but not the other 2, however, when I increase the Throttle Stick, the other 2 motors spin at a higher speed than the other two, which means that when you attempt to take off, it will tip up because 2 of the motors are spinning faster than the other 2. Obviously in accordance with the videos, when you Arm the Controller, none of the motors turn, so could anyone please help me to stop these motors from Spinning when the Controller is armed. hello, it's me again xD i did this project and i was setting up wires and when i was done and connected the power module to the battery, the power module went in smokes. what could be the possible reason for this? and how can i fix it? does it affect the rest of the parts of my drone?
most likely you fixed it by now but there was a short somewhere you will at least need a new board the rest should be good soldering can be a pain so always double check everything before power :)

Hi, thank you for the video, which motor did you use for your frame, I mean, do you have the link of the motor specifications? Sometimes the holes to attach the motor to the motor mount in the frame, do not match.
I know its a year late but here you go, and possibly for any other people who want to build one you'll need: 1 x s500 frame with pcb board (So you don't need to get a separate pdb) (Optionally if you don't get a s500 frame with build in pdb then, 1 x a pdb) 4 x esc's (I suggest a esc of around 30 amp and that supports 3-4 cell batteries) / these can be different ones depending on the motors you use 4 x 2212 920 kv motors / you can choose others though, but aim for motors with around 800-1000 kv 1 x apm 2.6/2.8 flight controller 1 x anti fibration mount (Very important when using an apm flight controller or else your drone might be unstable in flight) 1 x gps (Make sure it has a compas build in, since the flight controller doesn't, and that the gps comes with an arm to mount it on or you'll have to buy one separetly) 1 x apm power adapter 1 x Xt60 connector (Or any other type your battery might use) Atleast 5 x servo extension leads (Makes sure to get the male to male version, and more are needed if you want to add additional auxiliary chanels) 4 x 1045 props And that's all you need to make the drone itself, how ever you will also need: A radio controller, with a reciever both need to have atleast 5 chanels (Since the apm requires atleast 5, those are throttle, pitch, roll, yaw and 1 auxiliary chanel) A lipo battery, i suggest going with a 3 or 4 cell one and there isn't a real limit on max size, just look for something of atleast 3000 mah (But more is almost always better) And in case you want to add a camera to it for fpv you'll need to add A (small) fpv camera A VTX And antenna for the VTX And something to view the video on (there are lots of options for this one, going from fpv goggles to screens, or with a special reciever you can also watch it on your phone) Keep in mind that with drones that you make yourself, you can mix and match a lot, want a different frame? sure why not, just make sure that if it doesn't have a pdb build into the frame you'll need to buy one. Still if you want to build one i highly recommend that you look for more video's detailing how to build a drone, the chanel bananascience (th-cam.com/channels/Kl9Rvfkb5HyUC7cnUbBZ5g.html ) has 2 really good video's showing how to build a hexa copter (based on the s550 frame, just the hexa version of the frame used in this video), but almost everything said there applies to a quadcopter too, such as how to install the motors, where to solder certain wires to. SAme setup I got and me and my IT guy never could get it work right. Got a pixhawk controller and never could get the GPS to work on it and they would not replace it for me so I said hell with it. Spent too much time and money on it. He did get it to fly but other than that it was dangerous and all but uncontrollable.

I built one and never did get the GPS to work right the bought a Pixy Hawk controler and the GPS didn't work on it at all and we tried two different antennas. Took it off, put the old controler back on it. They refused to replace the Pixy Hawk and it was brand new and didn't work. So I have a pile of junk here on the desk beside me. I let my IT man work on it and he did for months never could get it to work right.
