That Diamondback is such a beautiful bedcover, and so functional. Love it. A question. Do you know, does it get very hot if it's out in the hot summer sun all day, how hot to the touch, scalding being metal and all black? I really wonder about this. It's the only real concern I have. Thanks.

Dude I’ve had my diamondBack for two years and I absolutely love it. I’ve got a modified system put above mine that supports my James Borud roof top and I couldn’t think of the troubles I would have on my tundra if I didn’t have that on and to be able to support and lock down the things I want secured. The diamond plate is smooth but the workmanship is top shelf. You’re gonna love it.
I installed the alum Leer tri-fold prior to wheeling out in Utah, plus I already had the decked system. Was able to keep my traction boards and other gear dry & secure. Your 1st trip out to Moab when you got your camera gear jacked was the inspiration! Tri-fold kept everything dry and I knew that sand would still be an issue, yet the decked system stayed clean in the drawers. I'm too old to climb into a roof top tent so I've installed a commercial Leer canopy and will build it out so I can take my Lab with me when overlanding. Look forward to meeting you at those meet & greats with the Overland Truck store folks. Rock on Max!

I had a DB cover. Now I have the SmartCap which i love. I also have the Decked system. I would suggest to install the Decked System first or take the DB cover off when you install the Decked as you'll have an easier time reaching the back part of the bed. Keep up the good work!
