I'm glad I came across your channel about a year ago. I've been tossing my wood in a bin. I'm in Florida, and oak is drying to 15% in 6 months. I appreciate you!
G’morning Chris. Hello Fellow Firewood Fanatics. Super fast stacking, just like the old days. Sweeet action. Those will be great fer da fireplace. GoodNightIrene
Thanks for giving me a rough guide lines on how make and sell firewood. I've started with a chainsaw and a log splitter and a bunch of awesome pallet wood bins. I'm an electrician during the day and when i finish, i spend an hour or two outside doing firewood, i love fitness and enjoy getting payed to keep fit haha. im from New Zealand and thanks for all the entertainment :D I've done about 150m3 of wood and still going strong
Great job. At least everyone who watches this no that you are spot on when you just throw wood in your trailer. Packing it up proves that you have the right amount of wood what they ask for, and a bit extra.
@@InTheWoodyard As you get better looking in life you start not wanting to do the things you use to. For me when I was younger I use to love to climb widow makers and ride them down to the ground and jump off. Now that I am much better looking I have no desire to climb a healthy tree. Just my luck I would forget to jump off lmao.
I’ve been stacking wood all week. And I don’t get payed, well I sometimes get a sandwich for dinner. 🤭🤭. So that’s good. This is our own wood and I’m stacking at my son’s place. So three of us burn wood out of these piles. Should be done of the softwood tomorrow. Then onto the hardwood. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Good Morning. Still have that Magic Hand. I will watch this again, this time listening to Thriller. You need black shoes, white socks and a silver glove. Nice job.
That was a great video you can see the man is a real professional how he knows how to make the ends like Kris Kross columns Dani layes the wood in great video
I love stacking wood, in my own wood stack next to my house where I can look at it all year. End of winter it gets empty and I cannot wait to fill it again 😁
Yes a cord of wood measures 4x4x8, that is in the round before bucking and splitting. Here in Maine, there is a firewood law for commercial firewood delivery that a thrown cord measures 180cf. Once stacked it will actually measure 110cf. +/-.
It's nice that you make it a little oversize, because the criss/crossed ends have less wood per cubic foot than the wood stacked in the same direction.
When you first started selling with the borrowed trailer, did you stack the wood in the trailer or just throw it in? If you stacked it in did you find yourself unstacking it into customers racks without a charge, or you just hand unload on to the ground/floor?
Without all the extra exercise of stacking, are you going hunting more or procrssing more wood? Or time with the grandkids? Time with the grandmids sounds like a winner of an idea.
Nice video Chris. Stacks look nice like the Benjamin’s in your wallet. Still working on and off on a woodshed at the river. 4’x8’ 6’at one eve & 7’ at other eve (enough for next years fire pit season). Construction is slow because I’m siding with 30 yr old rough cut 1”x12 ash boards. Boards were sawmilled live edge and stored in a hay barn all this time. GNI
Hello again. At what point do you inform customers that you don't stack for free? Do people sometimes place an order assuming that you'll stack it when you deliver? How do you handle the situation?
Had a customer who wanted it stacked till I told them it would be extra, even though it's advertised as extra, second delivery, paid me to stack, stated it was too hard for them!!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
There was recently a spirited discussion on line, that despite the caricature of the snobby impossible-to-please rich person, that actually the high end customers are less trouble
When the locust arrives here will you also do that so neat stack for us ? 😁😁It's hard to understand why some of your clients don't want the needed exercise to simply stack a full cord ? Not many like that Downeast. Hey Chris, it is business for you. Smart MBA stuff.
I was still on my first cup of coffee while reading your post and thinking what the heck does locust (grass hoppers) have to do with firewood , when the coffee kicked in
Totally fair proposition paying you to stack the wood. If i earned 100 an hour doing what i do best, why would i waste 2 hours of my time and cost me $200 doing a crappy job of stacking the wood, when i could pay you $60 or $100 to stack it twice as well in half the time, as that is what you do best?

Glad to help! Thanks!
I never doubted you when you said you put more than a cord in your trailer, but it was nice to actually see it and put the tape measure to it.
Thanks!!

I did it just for your kids!
stacked like a champ., good day to you and yours Chris

Awesome! Keep cuttin'!

I have not stacked wood in years and to be honest I don't miss it but when I was younger I use to stack wood almost every day.
Yup, I understand!

Chris, another excellent video on stacking wood 😮😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks great Chris. Wish I could stack like that
You can do it!! Just start!

Awesome, keep at it!
Got to believe, you know what you are doing!👍👍🇺🇸
I try! Thanks!

A cord of wood in New Jersey is a 128 cubic feet stacked
Nice looking stacks Chris 😉👍
Glad you enjoyed it!

yup!
Nice neat stack 🪵
Thanks!
Nicely Done
Thanks!!!
It’s a beautiful thing!👍👍
Yup, just like a art sculpture!
Lucky customer👍👍👍
God customer!
When you first started selling with the borrowed trailer, did you stack the wood in the trailer or just throw it in? If you stacked it in did you find yourself unstacking it into customers racks without a charge, or you just hand unload on to the ground/floor?
I had to stack it to fit enough in. I put it where they wanted it, most of the time it was tossed off.
Beautiful
Like a fine sculpture! Ha!
Without all the extra exercise of stacking, are you going hunting more or procrssing more wood? Or time with the grandkids? Time with the grandmids sounds like a winner of an idea.
More hunting....no grands yet!
Hi Chris nice stack good video ( Ty Ron
Thanks!!!
Fewer touches, fewer steps… that’s the way to maximize profit. I’m glad you discovered the tremendous benefits of not stacking in the woodyard.
YUP!!!!

Sounds nice!
I used to get a lot of dead oak from farmers, but my place now is mostly hickory. I do have 2 large red oaks on the ground now, but that is uncommon.
Hickory is great wood to!
A guy I delivered to the other day paid me to stack then told me to toss it on the ground. It’s important to keep your customers happy.
Yup!!
Hello again. At what point do you inform customers that you don't stack for free? Do people sometimes place an order assuming that you'll stack it when you deliver? How do you handle the situation?
I tell them and or ask them on the first order.
Reminds me of a Red Green show 😂
Ya, I get that a lot! I do like my duct tape!
Had a customer who wanted it stacked till I told them it would be extra, even though it's advertised as extra, second delivery, paid me to stack, stated it was too hard for them!!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yup, most people are allergic to work!
There was recently a spirited discussion on line, that despite the caricature of the snobby impossible-to-please rich person, that actually the high end customers are less trouble
Yes they want and are willing to pay for SERVICE.
I noticed that about you…you like getting paid. 😄 me too! 💵
Yes I do!

@@iffykidmn8170 Locust= very high BTUs.
Try single malt instead.
I will stack it as soon as I get there...soon! Ha!
ha!
Hey… you still remember how to stack😂 Thats what Evan use to charge per FC to stack! Now that he is gone I hope no one asks me😂 Take care Sir Chris👊🏻
Yup, 20-30$$ a face is about average.
Good Morning Woodhounds!(-:

Yup, I like to hire a lot of people who do things better than me....well that would actually be everyone!
Hello everyone.
Hello Stanley!!
I found that my breast-bone is to the the 4 foot height ; I'm 6 foot. And my hand span is 6"-6", so my tape measure got lost on deliveries.
Yup, that sounds right!
Dumb video good by😅
Thanks for watching!
Stacking not my favourite part of firewood! But gotta do it nobodys gonna help me!
It does look good!
I'm switching to bins not just because of the time saved, but because my stacks usually fall over. I seem to be missing a skill you obviously have.
I have had them fall over, usually because of frozen ground thawing out on the south side in the spring.
