not sure if you know about this already or not but one good spot in hanamura is on top of the building to the left of the bell temple if you're offending. gives you good view of defense entrance but not much cover. you can back up enough to cover using the roof and the full heal is right behind it! :3
On the first point of Hanamura offense, there was a bridge-like thing (up the stairs) that gives you a better view than the higher ledge on the left. :) Anyway, great videos! :)
there's a plat form you can stand on in kings row from the attacking side. It is directly to the left of the opening attached infront of the building. It's a really high vantage point for the attacking side you can snipe any defender at the wall not just the ones behind the right wall.
+xingx355 Oh that's right! It's funny because I remember putting a kill that I got on a Widowmaker that was at that spot, in my montage.....it IS a high vantage point, can't believe I forgot that one :x Thanks for mentioning it!
You can hook to get on top of the boat (to the right of the first choke) outside of Attacking spawn on the Temple of Anubis map. It may not be the best sniping spot on Anubis, but can work if you're wanting to be very aggressive.
+Hizzer Yea that is also a possible spot to snipe from. You get a decent view from the side, but I find it very dangerous. HOWEVER, if your whole team is being aggressive and past the first choke point, it would be a good spot for you because your team would have their attention, and you could just snipe away! :)
Thanks a lot ! I really liked Widowmaker during the beta but i was so bad with her. I didn't know where were the spots cause all the maps were new for me. This is going to help me soooo much !
On King's Row, a less known spot, at least that I have not seen others using it yet, is the roof to the right of your stated "last spot" in defense (above where the healing pack spawns); it might have less visibility, but compensates with excellent obscurity from enemy and constantly catches them off guard regardless if offense or defense. Unless someone makes it a point to go up there, snipers can get plenty shots before it likely becomes prudent to shuffle location. Pharah can use the spot as well but far swifter is given attention from the steady stream of rockets launching from the rooftop.
Ahhh yes, you did mention a pretty good spot! I'll have to put that in my next video, when I get around to updating these :) People are starting to come up with newer ones I didn't know about when starting out, so thanks for the help and support +Ryv Mutsu!
Aye, glad it can be of some use, and much gratitude for your videos on training reflex accuracy with Widowmaker and your Overwatch videos on whole \(^w^)/
there's a few spots left out like Anubis in the temple there is another ledge right at the gate that's good both on off and def and gives fair coverage. On kings row there is one last great defensive spot on the right side it's higher up than the last spot he showed on it.
Hey +Hayden Havok! Yea, I do realize that many more places have been discovered since I made this video! I really wanna try and see if I can do an updated version of this one, but I've been pretty busy lately :(
Thank you, this was the guide i was looking for! I really love the sniper gameplay but felt so lost due to not recognizing good spots on the map, oh and the bad aiming aswell haha!
+Mysterious715 Yea, one of the main aspects of playing Widowmaker is knowing the maps in and out, along with commonly used flanks and passageways! Hope it helped you out to get started (: there are always new spots coming up, so there's ALWAYS room for improvement as Widow, which I like!
I have found a new sniping spot on Hanamura Offense, it give a good view and is never used but vulnerable at the same time. At 12:55 right above you there's a air conditioner or ventilation machine: You can hook there w/o any fancy tricks. Widowmaker can control many entrances. I'm sorry wanted but not able to describe further due to lack of vocabulary :s
+CeeCee Lam I'm not sure what little space you're talking about actually! But I do know there's a spot in the building you can snipe from. Is it near that area?
+Satya Symmetra Vaswani Hahaha YES! Unexpected spots are always the best. However, that place really has no cover, and I would have been scared to stand there :p but I'm glad it worked out for you! haha :)
Hey Biggdwarf! 100+ latency isn't entirely TOO bad, but anything above 200 is going to be really hard. However, because of the way that Blizzard works around lag with "favor the shooter", it's quite possible to still do very well as WM. The thing is, WM usually gets the first shot off, since she's farther away and harder to see, while her scope allows her to easily find targets and shoot at them quickly. So, as long as you're keeping yourself hidden and aiming at the right spots to get the first shot off before your opponent does, even with 100+ latency, you can get a lot of kills. I've done well in a few games with 150-200 MS before, so it's not entirely impossible. :)
+Thomas “Rithm” Wayne Yea, someone mentioned it in the comments! It is a good spot, however it's pretty far forward, and I consider it to be very high risk. You can easily get flanked very quickly by those who spot you, but if they don't it's a powerful spot.
Again a very good guide Dibz! Thanks a lot for your work. =) And compared to the Tracer guide its a much better speed rate. I could understand you way much better this time. =D
+Marracon haha I think I talked 94234x faster in the other one because I was talking about/playing Tracer, and she's fast as hell :P JK (maybe) Glad you found the speed better :)
thete is one more realy good spot at 6:34 that ledge that he was on there was the door way and at the top of it there is a big tile if you grapple above it there is room for widow to stand and you get a view into both exits of their spawn I have gotten so many plays of the game by just standing their and picking them off hope this spot works 4 u guys
Hey Dibz, now that the game is out and more spots have been discoverd, to you plan on making an updated version of these videos? I know a few spots personally that I rarely see people use and they are great
I definitely could actually! However, I'm not quite sure about which spots you are talking about, and would have to start taking notes and figuring out what spots are decent. Leave a suggestion though if you'd like to contribute :) Thanks!
Well hard to describe all spots but id sure be willing to help and contribute. Perhaps I can post some imgur links in this reply when I have time and you could check them out.
imgur.com/a/ydpf7 Heres an Album with some Sniper Spots Ive used since beta and I rarely see people use em so it gives the "upper hand" in some situations, some better then others, but its still good spots imo. So for a short TL;DR on the spots Spot 1 = Alot of Snipers are aiming for the top entrance when they are defending, playing as an offensive widow this spot can be reached from the ground and gives a overview of the whole area . Spot 2 = is in the staircase in the building next to the point. Its fairly good since people expect the enemy widow to be on the ledges on the outside or between the statue legs, standing in the staircase also puts widows body out of view and only showing the head, so shes very hard to see. Spot 3 = Unreachable Spot for alot of other heroes , pharah can also land there and it gives a great overview of the point and abit further, very risky spot, but high risk high reward id say. Spot 4 = Just another block to stand on as defense on temple of anubis but a spot often not looked at since its so far to the right. Ive used this spot alot when I know the enemy widow is looking too pick me off and I want an advantage. Spot 5 = This spot can be used to flank from the offense side or stop flankers from the defensive side, Overall great spot and hard to reach and not expected by alot of people. you can jump around on the ledges aswell if you want to. Spot 6= a Spot most people dont look for, im standing in the screen but I would most likely crouch here, swapping between here and the roof you mentioned in your anubis video next to the point is very good for having an advantage over the offensive widow if any. Spot 7. Very risky spot, but high risk high reward again. Cant really be touched and you are able to leap and grapple back to the center entrance if in a pickle. Normally I would use this spot If im feeling very confident that I can pick off 1-3 people in the start and then I would just move back. Also a decent spot since the mid entrance is where people expect you to stand. Sorry for the long comment, but I love your videos and your passion for helping people new to overwatch and id thought id contribute as a fellow Widowmaker!
Hey man, thank you so much for your contribution! I found some of these spots after a while of playing during open beta, and will definitely use them in my next video when I put one out! I really appreciate it :)
Its really good spots :D (But while I saw your video there was some many things you also can hide as widowmaker) but If I write it, it will be too much xD
Widow is my main (26 hours) and I get hate comments lmao. My friends say I'm good at her. Sometimes I get out sniped by a Hanzo when I'm playing peek-a-boo with him. ;-;
Yea, people flame a lot of WidowMakers out there, and it sucks :( But hey, if you can get pretty good with her, I'm sure that you can show them otherwise ;) As to Hanzo, he's pretty annoying to deal with, as he can peek out at you, and basically kill you without you being able to see him, if he can time his arrows correctly. A good Hanzo will be REALLY annoying to deal with as Widow.
+Lincness Monster Of course! I've been thinking about doing that video for quite a while though, but with all the new halloween and milestone coming up, I've been spending a lot of time on those big projects. I will do this one soon if I can :)
+michie123 Yes, the first prestige (after reaching level 100) gives you a star. Here are all the portraits so far: www.overpwn.com/news/152-tracers-over-the-shoulder-pose-removal-drama-all This is a bit outdated, as they took out the first silver one and made the bronze border the starting prestige, but other than that, I haven't found an updated one. All 190 different borders! XD
+Chris Brauer top left of offensive spawn higher than the first spawning doors? At least i think that's the one you're talking about! :p if not, I'd like to hear it!
Haha I noticed it pretty early on in closed beta when I saw someone get up there: th-cam.com/video/6lqpXB2tbE4/w-d-xo.htmlm9s Didn't go over it in the video though :x ahha
XD yea that's why it's tough to play Widow! You should change your position once they figure out where you are, so you don't get flanked :) Use those hooks to reach different places quickly, and be unpredictable! :)
Dibz But almost all the time the other possible place for me to go I need to walk a little bit and then use hook and they see me again :D How can they kill such a beautiful Widowmaker xD
nice tips. but i wont be playing her anytime soon not unless I love receiving verbal abuse from teammates..Im just one of those people who suck at sniper class..used to be good at it to in CS era
+jaja1818 Haha as long as you have fun! People verbal abuse quite often, and I've gotten used to it and just ignore it. It does ruin the fun, I admit, but if you can't do that, I'm sure that with practice, you won't give them a reason to abuse you! (:
Yea, I would say this is good for countering her, as well as helping those who are starting out to get ahead :p So....yea, it could honestly go either way depending on how you use it haha XD
+Daniel M continuously change your position. If they come at you one at a time, your game sense/map presence should alert you, and you can take them out. However, if they are continuously coming at the same time and shutting you down, you should switch. McCree would be a decent pick against those 3.
+Leviathan If you go to the main menu and then PLAY, you go to CUSTOM GAME - > SETTINGS -> ABILITY COOLDOWN MODIFIER -> 0% . I explain how to do it in my hook-shot tutorial: th-cam.com/video/hxR8sBWAGR8/w-d-xo.html
No. At exactly 5 minutes into the video, your crosshair is located about a centimeter to the left of a surface that you can hook to. However, after using this again, I've realized it doesn't have quite the vantage of the other positions you've showed. But it is slightly sneakier I think.
LOL you CAN still one shot one kill, but it has to be a headshot now. She used to be able to one-shot body kill Tracer and Zenyatta. Now, it has to be a headshot all across the board, which is a good thing though I think!
Overall great video, great content but a side note for making future videos better you should watch out for over using the phrase "as well" not a horribly big deal but you did over use it.
Thanks for the feedback! I do know that I have that problem :( It's just something that I've grown accustomed to saying whenever I feel like I'm trying to give advice. Will take note though, I'll mix it up next time :) Thank you again !
I completely understand I know quite a few youtubers whom you share this problem with. Sometimes being simple is better, just using "and" or "also." if you really want to you can even script what you want to say. Scripting it could also keep you more organized as a whole.
+Metalhead 831 haha yea, this was pretty early on actually, and a lot of new spots have been discovered since then! Maybe I'll do an updated one when time allows it :)
Amax Playz On temple, there's a window above the room to the right from the attackers first spawn, on kings row there's a spot after the first cap, to the upper right is a little balcony that people don't really use, and hanamura theres a roof near the first objective that you can hide at and get some good shots on the gate, and at the second objective, there is a bunch of spots up top for hanzo, widow, Genji, and a good reaper potg setup spot
+Remy Blas LOL yes, you can buy Pokeballs with your coins earned from loot boxes, too. However, if you actually have a Junkrat on your team, you can alternatively use his traps to catch them ;) just be careful though, he gets kind of crazy sometimes and just kills it before you can capture it :x
+Dibz Prepare for trouble and make it double. To protect the world (blah blach etc...) Junkrat! Roadhog! Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light! Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
+Remy Blas Omg.....when I read that, I completed the entire intro out loud to myself....The reminiscence of childhood T_T Good times, good times :) I'm guessing D.Va would have to be the Meowth of the group, since she's the most cat-ish of course :3......D.VA! THAT'S RIGHT!
Yea, if you're typically where expected, then you can get picked off easily. If there's not health near you, that's why she has a hook to escape or get to one quickly ;)
Yea, it was meant to cover most of the spots that are good to start off with. I plan to update them with more spots, because honestly, if I did ALL of the viable ones, the video would be way too long. So, I decided to just stick with a few ones that I found decent, even though I knew there were still tons of other ones out there. Maybe I might make one video per map in the upcoming series and explain more.
not sure if you know about this already or not but one good spot in hanamura is on top of the building to the left of the bell temple if you're offending. gives you good view of defense entrance but not much cover. you can back up enough to cover using the roof and the full heal is right behind it! :3
Ahh I see, yea that's a decent spot! I'll add that to the next video when I start doing an updated version of this one :)
you deserve more views
Yeah u deserve more veiws
N word agreed
On the first point of Hanamura offense, there was a bridge-like thing (up the stairs) that gives you a better view than the higher ledge on the left. :)
Anyway, great videos! :)
Ahhh thank you! I'll be sure to check that spot out :)

+Léa H (Niwelz) Yea, positioning is definitely a super important aspect of playing Widowmaker, and I'm glad you found it useful! Cheers :)
Best overwatch channel ever! Glad you're on TH-cam, u earned a sub!
Thank you thank you! I'm glad that you found this video helpful :) I'm planning to update it sometime in the near future as well!

Dibz I had realized you made another video and commented before I had watched the other. Keep up the good work buddy, you're my widow idol.
LOL....Will do ;) Thanks buddy!
I wish I saw this when the beta was still out. Great video.
+Kade Deason Thanks man :) Glad that you found it helpful! Hopefully it gives you a good headstart when the game releases!
Solid content! Really like your tracer guide.
+Eddy Ang Thank you :) More guides coming as soon as I get footage in ^^
in hanamura on the def snipers u can get pick off on the bridge there is a small gap on the bridge where the attacking snipers pick u off
+NICHOALS LIM oOo I'm gonna have to check that one out when it opens up again! Thanks for in the input and additional location :)
Hmmm that seems like a pretty good place :o I'll have to check it out! Thank you :)!
in hanamura offense you can go to the right and there should be a little space enough for you too see their entire team near the gate
+CeeCee Lam I'm not sure what little space you're talking about actually! But I do know there's a spot in the building you can snipe from. Is it near that area?
Nice video once again! This info will br very helpful when the open beta starts!
+Moist :D even 1 week seems so far away >
Dibz ikr... exactly a week from tomorrow.. omg.
great upload. and very nice commentary . keep it up bro. u r doing an awesome work.
+Occence Media Thanks a lot man :)
For King's Row..I actually stood on Mondatta's head...no one expected me to be there...got a lot of shots :3
+Satya Symmetra Vaswani Hahaha YES! Unexpected spots are always the best. However, that place really has no cover, and I would have been scared to stand there :p but I'm glad it worked out for you! haha :)
Very constructive, thanks!
thanks for the guide i really apperciate it
this video was really helpful, thanks!
Any time :) Glad you found it helpful!
nice 17 ms ping ;) also, in your oppinion is it real to play WM on 100+ latency?
Hey Biggdwarf! 100+ latency isn't entirely TOO bad, but anything above 200 is going to be really hard. I've done well in a few games with 150-200 MS before, so it's not entirely impossible. :)
thanks man
in Temple of anubis, there is a flying boatship on the left side of the attacker's spawn, it's a great spot you forgot to mention
And compared to the Tracer guide its a much better speed rate.
I could understand you way much better this time. =D
+Marracon haha I think I talked 94234x faster in the other one because I was talking about/playing Tracer, and she's fast as hell :P JK (maybe)
Glad you found the speed better :)
+Dibz
At least 94234x faster! ;D
you should also try sniping from the ship on the right side.no one will notice you that quickly beside pharah.i think
Ty for this guide and all the others they are really good good job
Thank you thank you! I'm glad you found them helpful :)
+Dibz Now I just need to practice Widowmaker and learn to do headshots
thete is one more realy good spot at 6:34 that ledge that he was on there was the door way and at the top of it there is a big tile if you grapple above it there is room for widow to stand and you get a view into both exits of their spawn I have gotten so many plays of the game by just standing their and picking them off hope this spot works 4 u guys
Great video, thanks for the input
I'M YOUR 2000TH SUBSCRIBER 😃
Hahah WELCOME ABOARD Dazlin Dodd :D

Hey man, thank you so much for your contribution! I found some of these spots after a while of playing during open beta, and will definitely use them in my next video when I put one out! I really appreciate it :)
on anubis you can get on a floating boat near attacjers base
Yea, that's true. However, it's really risky, but does have good benefits if you can actually escape! :)
Dibz thats true aswel
Its really good spots :D
(But while I saw your video there was some many things you also can hide as widowmaker) but If I write it, it will be too much xD
Yea, this was in the early stages of Overwatch, so there have been a ton of other places discovered as well :) Thank you though!

Can you do Eichanwalde next. It has a great snipers spot right above the entrance to the castle.
+Lincness Monster Of course! I've been thinking about doing that video for quite a while though, but with all the new halloween and milestone coming up, I've been spending a lot of time on those big projects. I will do this one soon if I can :)
this is great tip video
Very helpful.
Glad you found it helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions or need any clarification :)
lucky... you have Noire widow!!! i want that skin!!!
im going to guess that the bronze star underneath your level is a prestige marker, correct?
+michie123 Yes, the first prestige (after reaching level 100) gives you a star. Here are all the portraits so far:
www.overpwn.com/news/152-tracers-over-the-shoulder-pose-removal-drama-all
This is a bit outdated, as they took out the first silver one and made the bronze border the starting prestige, but other than that, I haven't found an updated one. All 190 different borders! XD
How come your hook thing dose not take 13 seconds to reload
Ps great vid
I actually did this in a custom game, and changed the cooldown to 0%!
I have a really great spot for an offensive Widowmaker on King's Row. I've watched a bunch of videos but no one covers it.
+Chris Brauer top left of offensive spawn higher than the first spawning doors? At least i think that's the one you're talking about! :p if not, I'd like to hear it!
+Dibz Yes actually, I always thought it was a rather obvious spot but no one ever finds me there. Even other Widows.
Haha I noticed it pretty early on in closed beta when I saw someone get up there:
th-cam.com/video/6lqpXB2tbE4/w-d-xo.htmlm9s
Didn't go over it in the video though :x ahha
hi dude can you tell me what is your dpi u are so good thx for the video
I have 1000 DPI, 6 in game overall sensitivity, 30 horizontal, 15 vertical, and 15 zoomed (Default I think). :)
oki thx bro u are a beast its insane !
NICE
No matter where I am as soon as I shoot they see the red line and the whole enemy team starts chasing me xD
XD looks can be deceiving! That's all I can say bahaha
Do some Ana sniping spots
Hmmm that is actually an interesting idea. I'll jot it down! Thanks :)
At 5;22 I always go there
It's a very nice spot ;)
Hey. All these spots are amazing, but you forgot an offensive spot on Kings Row.
Yea, there are quite a few spots that people have been discovering lately, and I will possibly update these parts with them in the future!
He sounds like Redmercy :o
I've heard this before! Never heard of him beforehand though, but that's pretty cool :)
Holy shit your a good sniper
sorry this comment is so late but what is your in game sensitivity and dpi?
I have an in game sensitivity of 3.0, with 2000 DPI and 35 relative sensitivity for snipers.
Do you lisp Dibz?
Nope, at least I don't think so :p haha
nice tips. but i wont be playing her anytime soon not unless I love receiving verbal abuse from teammates..Im just one of those people who suck at sniper class..used to be good at it to in CS era
+jaja1818 Haha as long as you have fun! People verbal abuse quite often, and I've gotten used to it and just ignore it. It does ruin the fun, I admit, but if you can't do that, I'm sure that with practice, you won't give them a reason to abuse you! (:
The guide's also for people who aren't playing Widowmaker, though. Have to know where she's going to snipe from to take her out.
Yea, I would say this is good for countering her, as well as helping those who are starting out to get ahead :p So....yea, it could honestly go either way depending on how you use it haha XD
what do you do if ure up against 3ppl like phara genji and reaper coming from behind the whole game
+Daniel M continuously change your position. If they come at you one at a time, your game sense/map presence should alert you, and you can take them out. However, if they are continuously coming at the same time and shutting you down, you should switch. McCree would be a decent pick against those 3.
never thought about changing since almost all heroes are feeling kind of too easy
22 ms de ping, que maravilla.....
Hey does this work for Ana in anyway?
Or can you make a video of Ana hideouts and secret spots?
1:17 I paused and her fingers were lloooooooooooooooooooooooong
how you can throw your hook so much times sorry for bad lnguage 2:00
+Leviathan If you go to the main menu and then PLAY, you go to CUSTOM GAME - > SETTINGS -> ABILITY COOLDOWN MODIFIER -> 0% . I explain how to do it in my hook-shot tutorial:
th-cam.com/video/hxR8sBWAGR8/w-d-xo.html
You missed a spot on Anubis. You even look right at it. The window before the last spot you show.
+Walabinx oo you mean the pocket right on the point? That's a decent spot too, I'd assume. I'll be updating this video when I can, thanks!
No. At exactly 5 minutes into the video, your crosshair is located about a centimeter to the left of a surface that you can hook to. However, after using this again, I've realized it doesn't have quite the vantage of the other positions you've showed. But it is slightly sneakier I think.
Interesting, I'll have to check it out. Thanks! :)
How do I crouch at the same time?
+Mycenaea If you're playing on PC, ctrl = crouch. If you're playing on PS4 and Xbox....then I'm not sure, you'd have to check the options.
+Dibz If my memory serves well it's pressing the left stick.
I'm just here to see if there's a sniper in overwatch
Yea, there is a sniper! Her name is Widowmaker, but she just got nerfed recently. Still playable IMO, and I still do pretty well with her :D
Dibz WHAT SHE GOT NERFED?? Does that mean you can't one shot one kill? T-T
But again great video with amazing information.
I see, I'll keep that in mind! Thank you again for the tips and suggestions :) They're highly appreciated ^_^
You missed the best place on temple
And kings row
And hanamura xD
+Metalhead 831 haha yea, this was pretty early on actually, and a lot of new spots have been discovered since then! Maybe I'll do an updated one when time allows it :)
Metalhead 831 where sorry?
Amax Playz On temple, there's a window above the room to the right from the attackers first spawn, on kings row there's a spot after the first cap, to the upper right is a little balcony that people don't really use, and hanamura theres a roof near the first objective that you can hide at and get some good shots on the gate, and at the second objective, there is a bunch of spots up top for hanzo, widow, Genji, and a good reaper potg setup spot
3:07 Pikachu can come through that door? Can I capture it??
THAT'S RIGHT!
show us hook snipe again
+김준현 Stay tuned! I will make a tutorial of it once we get access to Overwatch again :)
thats kew
Kew kew
WHAT! can't be easily seen? haha. no where near health.
Yea, if you're typically where expected, then you can get picked off easily. If there's not health near you, that's why she has a hook to escape or get to one quickly ;)
You only cover the obvious spots. : /
Not even chairs on King's Row.
