Whitney Houston was not just one of the most beautiful BLACK women, she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Whitney was pregnant during the making of the Bodyguard movie. She miscarried and dedicated "I Will Always Love You" to the baby she lost.

Took the words right outta my mouth, she had crossover appeal since her Early modeling, pre-singing days before the mid-80's!!!

    K. Kostner cried at her funeral, and his speach at the funeral was very touching.
    BTW
Rumor has it that the original Bodyguard movie was originally supposed to star Steve McQueen, and Diana Ross; but something went wrong and the movie never got made.

I could see it being true. Whitney was beautiful, talented and from what others say, very down to earth. R.I.P Queen. Her voice is undeniable and recognizable all around the world 🌎

I love this song, but the track that makes me cry is, I Have Nothing. It’s the only song that can make my tears fall in an instant, it’s such a beautiful song!

I always thought Kevin was in love with Whitney…. I was 11 or 12 years old when I first watched this film, and I thought they were in love even then. Kevin was always so handsome to me. It always made me sad to see who Whitney chose to do life with 😭😭😭

She wanted Eddie Murphy but he did not want her. Read Robyn Crawford's book.

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was that girl! I remember how Kevin Costner got choked up at Whitney's funeral, so him falling for her is very believable.
I get sad every time I see her image...her death will never sit right with me. #RIPWhitneyHouston 🙏🏾🕊️❤️

@hmm-zoolol you had to see it to believe it. The sad part was to witness the affects (drugs) it had on them. She could've did the show by herself.
In 2025 Bobbie is still here and Whitney is gone. I wouldn't wish any of that on anyone. Whitney was beautiful and she definitely had the right to pick/choose any one including Kevin but not Bobbie. We know who to blame.

Always intriguing, provocative subjects explored with intelligence, wit, and élan. BRAVA!
Of course, Whitney Houston, I believe, is more than a legend: she's an icon. She was a superb singer, a musician's musician (the session musicians whom I know that worked with her all came away impressed with her professionalism and musical technique, irrespective of whatever the issues in her personal life beyond the studio). As for Kevin Costner: well, OF COURSE, he was in love with her. He still is.
CASE IN POINT: there are actors who have great chemistry, indeed, but what makes The Body Guard such an enduring classic is not the plot, or even the classic-in-its-own-right soundtrack (although it certainly helps), or the skills the two fine lead actors demonstrated -- and Whitney was a very good, intuitive and charismatic actress with range, even on this, her first major film effort. What makes the film a classic is that we see in near realtime something far deeper and far more electric than mere good connection and ease between the leads. Whitney and Kevin were the perfect, the only actors, for this role. But that is the power of this film: they're NOT acting. That thing between them mesmerizes, and you can see it, feel it, know it. It's all there, from the first moment they encounter each on the screen for the first time to their iconic closing shot. No leading lady in any of Costner's films and television performances EVER elicited that thing, that vibe, that gaze, that longing, that presence from Kevin the way Whitney Houston did.
Enquire of any of the original viewers of the film, film professors in every school from Howard to Harvard today, and kids seeing the film for the first time: none of us might remember the finer points of plot, the elaborate set scenes, the fashion-forward costuming, the allusions to Diahann Carroll and Paul Newman, the very fine supporting cast.
But we will NEVER forget that thing between Whitney and Kevin. It all pivots on them.
As to their being together in that way, that is probably the best-known, most recognized "secret" in the world. And so, it really is neither a mere rumour nor a secret that anyone could keep, really. It's all there for everybody to see, plain as day, in that film.
