Thing is they're not really great sprinters out there this era... it takes a great a sprinter to push another great sprinter to break a record, like if there was a sprinter out there who goes 9.7, then Noah would actually work to beat him which might then lead to a world record...

If you paused the video close to the line he really ran 9.97 but they clocked 9.95 then put 9.96

Remember, the thing still has to react to you crossing the line. Slowing down the video and stopping it directly when he hits the line, or seeking to that point exactly will always be 100% accurate compared to an automated system. The system is faster than a humans hand, which is why hand timing is not as accurate BUT the system still reacting to you, although faster, is not better than me being able to literally seek to the point of contact with the line before the machine itsrlf can even react and stop its timer. I am infinitely faster than it with that ability
