First time for me see a “heating coil”. Do YOU have one and are they costly?? I recently took a Basic, Beginner Blacksmithing Class and this was not mentioned!! Cool video tho!!
I love the simplicity of the knife and the true "craftmanship" that you possess. Most people that have knife forges and thousands of dollars worth of tools cannot come close. I agree with Jon Bottoms, true master of the power hammer. If you have flat dies in it, you would not have even had to pick up your hand held hammer. Great job and awesome blade.
Hes actually pretty armature at best , he was hammering that shit cold in places, like he ran past where it was heated , my honest reaction as somone who makes knives was this guy is either new or is using that power hammer for the first time , there was enough steel there to make a sword... but nah he just made a kitchen knife 12 sizes too thick lol honestly your comment shows how little you know about knives because this is pretty shit work to be frank , it won't cut because its too thick , it can chop sure but then why not make it a chopper or cleaver? Why kitchen knife? Sure it can cut shitty pot metal nails because the metal he started off with was harder than the nails , and seriously this is the first time in my 15 years forging knives I've ever seen somone do a water, oil AND sand quench 🤯 Really is sad when there's people like me in the United States that make far better blades but all you people that don't know any better see some third worlder using bullshit and think its incredible lol 😂 😥

Have to give this a thumbs up well done and he's got to be a true master, he never worried about steel breaking or being brittle. Anyone watch forged in fire, that heating coil something else. But this is the true mark of a master. When a craftsmen break's out his personal Identification stamp and puts his mark on his work for everyone to see. Yeah. I don’t know, maybe it’s very difficult to find a piece of rail in his area and he bought it somewhere. But when he sawed the rail with a disc, holding it with his hand, I tensed up a lot.

What amazes me is how something that is going to be cut, mashed and smashed is wrapped so it doesn't get scratched.
Because when transport it you dont want it to destroy other packages. Kind of opposite safety packing.
