That scene between Pippa and Sophie was a genius performance by Debra and also scriptwriting perfection. And when Sally came in to cuddle Sophie... Any British or American soaps wish they could!?! 👏🥰
Hardly any teens now, there's WAY more adults. I think Bella and Ryder (who is nearly 20) are thr only teens left. Most of the rest of the current cast are like 25-30 with the exception of Alf, Marilyn, Palmer, Leah, Ziggy, Ari, Nikau and Tane.
That is Guy Pierce whom played Mike in Neighbours, and Sofie was played by Rebekah Elmaloglou whom now plays Terese, cannot believe that’s her voice on the tape - it’s so light. I remember this episode well.

I was in my late teens during these episodes and I had a massive crush on Rebekah Elmaloglou. I looked up her videos to see if time has made think any differently and I haven't changed my view at all. She's lovely. Probably a bit insensitive to say it at such a bad time for her character but what the heck. She should be over this by now.
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, Suzanne, but Rebekah remains in a different hemisphere. That could also serve as a metaphor for her level of interest in me as well.
Phil B She plays Terese on Neighbours now and her character is engaged to Paul Robinson which makes his 7th Wife, although his other Six are conspiring together to stop the marriage from happening by the looks of things.
all of this could have been avoided if that useless guy in the car with Karen just grabbed the handbrake or did something to stop her. Instead of talking to her. Always need to take action
I never understood why Michael didn't tell Sophie about David's death. Even though I think Sophie's feelings for David could be best described as teenage infatuation, denying her the chance to go to his funeral was wrong. I'm pretty sure she referenced it some years later when she came back and reunited with Blake.

Sadly not. Karen returned from the detention centre in 1993, just a few days after Sophie left the Bay. Many fans are curious about why the writers did this. It's unclear whether the producers simply couldn't make the actor's schedules work to have an onscreen reunion, or whether they deliberately waited until after Sophie left so as to avoid doing that story.
Back then they had the best cliffhanger. Wow 😮

I love the fact that they combined the two big storylines of the time into one big event. It was such a shocking moment!!
Agreed. It's rare to have separate storylines intertwine now.
It was a surprise to me
Sophie and Karen never met after that? Never confronted or reconciled?
Home and away shopie
She more like Bobby
I’ve only just realised here that Guy Pearce was in Home and Away as well as Neighbours wow
Guy Pierce was in Home and Away too!!! WOW😮 He's synonymous with Neighbours didn't know he was in Home and Away too!!

Pippa was never the same after Michael died.
Yeah, and I read somewhere back then that Michael was played by the second Pippa's real life husband.
was never the same after Tom died. in fact she became a completely person not long after.
