    I should be embarrassed to admit this in public since I'm an artist/silversmith but I never thought of removing the clip-back to tighten it. I've always used a small tool to make the adjustment while the earring was intact. This way is so much better. I thank you for a very clear and concise presentation.

    I have been trying to tighten my clip-ons for years, but the efforts did not work. This video is simple to follow and understand, and I am most grateful.

    I too am in the trade...and just tightened my first paddle back clip on..after a few attempts..it was successful....I got the spring action and firmness back again...I am thrilled to bits....I too tried adjustments..leaving the clip on the lug...it makes sense to start from scratch and level out all the prongs..nifty way of doing it too..anyway it just takes practice...and of course nimble fingers.....thanks so much for sharing your knowledge..it has really helped

    Thank you very much for this video, really clear and useful. I was able to purchase a pair of 1940s clip on earrings that the snap had gone out of one of with confidence because I knew that I could fix it, and sure enough I have. 👍🙏🏻😊😊😊

    Thank you for this clear & helpful tutorial!
    I have an earring that's clip is different. It has a permanent "circle-joint" like a grommet. I don't like the idea of bending the earring, and/but I'm not sure how to proceed. I'd post a photo, but YT isn't image-friendly.. 🤨
    Suggestions?

    Bought a pair of screwback earrings from eternal collection and they feel really loose. Shook my head a few times and it almost slid completely off. This is my first time buying screwbacks, 'cause I thought the screw would help keep the earring in place, but maybe my earlobes are just thinner than I thought. Not sure if there's anything that I can do about it, since I don't think I saw screwbacks in this video...

    • @debmauritson5016
      @debmauritson5016 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had trouble too; it wasn't clear how the middle prong needed go back on when re-attaching the paddle. I just scraped off all the silver foil on my vintage earrings and got it back on, no tighter. SO, I used some tiny foam nose protectors for glasses and cut it in a tiny circle then added to the back which is now as tight as I need it. Messed my thumb nail up too. Used jewelry pliers which was too sharp for vintage silver metal. Oh well. I can always go out and buy more '50's rhinestone jewelry I guess. Anyway, foam protectors may work for some if you gap/slack isn't too great.
