I’ve had the Hyper boom for 2 years now. I take it on every vacation , back yard bbq, yard sale, camping trip ,car wash, golf tournament after party ,baby shower, anytime I’m in the garage ,small family gathering ,fishing trip with the guy and when we go to the park.Packing it in the suv is very space saving This is the main reason why I bought it. It fairly durable. It very fashionable for home décor also . I use it in a 30x30ft living room and put it in the corner n(use the wall to bounce the bass) and raise it up to 4 or 5 ft and it sounds like you’re at a 2 million $ house party. Everybody is impressed. I feel that this speaker is a stationary home speaker .I put a rubber pad on the front corner when I sit it dow on rough surfaces due to where the handle is located. I agree that the charging cord port could be more compatible with other cords. I can’t wait for the new upgrade and I hope it still pairs up with this one.
This is the one I want too, but waiting for the Hyperboom 2, if there is such a future model. USB-C port, Hi-Res Bluetooth codecs, top handle, a speaker mount hole, built in charger so you don't need a brick and wireless device charging would all be great.
@juanpecan I listen to my Boombox3 more than the Hyperboom but because the Hyperboom sets up vertical and the Boombox3 sets horizontal I keep the Hyperboom on a bedside table and that's where it stays. I definitely prefer the Boombox3 plus It is better when you take it outside or wet environments. (Poolside, beach or get caught out in the rain) Hope this helps. Don't get me wrong they are both great speakers.
As I hear the Hyperboom playing, the Stero effect with the loudspeaker arrangement in that way creates an Echo effect which in stereophonic listening turns out to be an anomaly. The JBL works tight but more sculpted and precise. For my tastes JBL, moreover having released the new software with graphic equalizer it is possible to file with more precision based on the type of song you are listening to.

Needs power brick as the boom box doesn't JBL BOOM BOX 3 pros: Sound is awesome just like the hyperboom The solid handle is waaay better than the hyperboom Both have a solid battery life The dual plug is very simple and can basically use any dual plug ie Playstation powercord etc as I think the powerbrick is built into the boom box 3 so you don't need to carry that around with you Cons: The footprint.. its very long and takes up alot of space if you're placing on a table Can't link with boom box 1 as I tried with my old jbl boom box and even stated on website it can't link with it Awesome bluetooth speakers and recommend both
@Blockah honestly, you wouldn't notice the difference between the 2 in sound quality. They both have similar sound and bass. I'd say the JBL build quality is more sturdy than the UE if you're using it outside. But if you have other JBL or UE products then that should be a deciding factor.
Hyperboom is still my favorite Bluetooth speaker, I bought it in 2020 and it still sounds just as good and the battery still lasts forever!! I highly recommend it 😃👌
I just picked up the BB3 and currently have the HB. Both are nice but I feel like the HB is more of a home speaker vs the BB3 which is more of an outside speaker. Kinda sucks that I can't pair my BB3 to my PB310. One thing that I do like about UE speakers tho is that I could remote wake and turn it off. I love Sony as a brand but their speakers are a mixed bag imo. Their speakers are great but more in the middle of the road for my taste. If you dont care so much for bass then they're perfectly fine. JBL are for bassheads. UE are similar to Sony but generally have less bass. I think UE hasn't released anything new cause of the chip shortage. I could see them doing something new next year tho.

Great video i own the hyperboom and its my personal favorite. But quick question i understand the crazy price but the new diamondboxx xl3 it will be the biggest most expensive speaker you will review. Just consider it
Also, if factor in the fact that the Boombox is of similar loudness to the Hyperboom at less volume, would that mean it has similar battery for loudness level?
Sony XG500: too quiet lots of bass and sound a little shallow boombox 3: has a bright sound signature little too harsh and it can destroy your ears when you play it at max volume hyperboom: best sounding has good instrument separation just like a boombox 3 but this one doesn't sound harsh the best and most balanced sounding speaker here
Did you use an LDAC equipped source/player when you tested the Sony XG500 - if not I can see why it sounded a bit like garbage. When I bought a LDAC equipped tablet my Sony SRS XB-43 started to sound a whole lot better so I figure the XG500 will be the same, but it might not still outpeform the JBL BB3. If we only could get the BB3 with a better (hi-res) codec (like LDAC) I would be all over it...
But don't confuse high pitch and boomy bass as good sound. Just mess with the Sonys eq. I did. I had the hyperboom and the Sony gs500 after. The Sony wins if you turn all the bass and the megabass down but up the mids and the treble. I walked away from the UE and the GS500 and JBL by 40 feet, the GS500 wins hands down. The rest UE and JBL, are just loud high pitched. It loses instrumental properties. UE gave me a hard time switching from Spotify and TH-cam. A lot of times I had to switch screens until it worked again.
I realised too that most default EQs (Rock, jazz, dance etc...) have to much low frequencies turned to high. I made a custom one with low bass, mids just slightly turned up and then even higher treble. The sound is now just so clear... I need bass only for electronic dance music like techno or dnb. Especially for Metalheads the bass is killing the guitar riffs. And in rnb the vocals.
I love my Hyperboom, but when we're at the beach for a good 5-6 hours the battery lasts about 3.4 hours. We have the speaker at max volume. (we make ita a party) My question is, can anyone recommend a AC/DC Portable power supply for the hyperboom? I've seen some on amazon but dont want to get something that can potentially set my house on fire or mess up the internal battery of the speaker. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
@@ontdekuzelfDo you own both? Have you heard both? But from what I can tell from my Hyperboom it wouldn't be hard to beat Hyperboom is more a decent ok quality sound at a loud enough-ish sound outside It certainly has nothing on my JBL PARTYBOX 310 that I used to wheel around with a trolley and blast all over the place, that was a solid workout with mean beats!
@@Blockah i heard both, together. When you have the 310 then boombox 3 is of no use... It's just smaller, less loud, but the same sound. The hyperboom is much balanced sound, but you need to use the equaliser to gain the highest frequencies.
XG500 is too muffled, Boombox 3 is ear-piercing, Hyperboom is the closest to reasonable. Do EQ settings get saved on any of these devices or do they only work when connected to your phone?
Nice video but honestly I think the JBL Boombox 1 was enough to beat the UE Hyperboom. Although the Hyperboom has a wide soundstage with lots of punchy bass the deep bass is non existent. The Boombox 1 went down to 43Hz before it died off the Boombox 2 went to 38Hz before it completely died off and the Boombox 3 goes to 32Hz before it completely died off but each generation of the Boombox decreased upper bass to gain deep bass. Now the UE Hyperboom dies off completely at 58Hz... So the Hyperboom upper bass is very useful outside but the Boombox 3 goes 23Hz lower than the Hyperboom that's huge. The XP-500 has a good combination of mid and upper bass but the lack of highs is it's downfall but for 180$ refurbished it's a great deal.
I clearly agree, a comparison between these 2 speakers is a bit wrong. The upper bass is Hyperboom's only beacon of hope, but in terms of soundstage and frequency response flexibility, the UE Hyperboom has to admit defeat. The JBL Boombox 3 is definitely several notches above and the XG 500 at least equal. 180€ for refurbished is a brilliant deal.
Plus the JBL and Sony has dynamic bass adjustment at lower volumes which the Hyperboom just sounds boring until you crank it up. I think if UE really tried they can make some decent speakers for the crowd that likes there sound signature but ig the competition is just to much for em now plus the effort to make anything good is also nonexistent 😕
The amount of subsonic, or “deep” bass is negligible at these speaker sizes. The Hyperboom focuses on important bass notes, not, “palpable” bass. If you need, “deep bass”, set up a y 2.1 stereo system in your house. The expectations for some are too high for the amount of speaker.
Fully agree that the Hyperboom lacks a bit of deep bass compared to some of it’s competitors. With that being said, your Hyperboom cuts off around 58hz? How odd, in my experience using both a frequency generator app and also some test tones from Spotify I’ve had mine playing down around the 47-50hz mark with a decent amount of grunt behind it. Definitely rolls off pretty steeply after that though.
I Need help im never had a speaker heard that JBL is good but idk🤷🏽♂️ i just want a speaker that is loud and has good bass. For example i wanna take it to the Basketball court and hear it while balling up. What do y’all recommend ?
Heyyy gymcaddy, I'm a very big fan of how you review speakers I would really appreciate if you could review the onyx studio speakers I'm concerned how they would hold up in terms of real world use

Well after looking around and wanting the Boombox 3. Ring JBL in Australia only to find out theres still no ETA for release date into the country Soooo HyberBoom it is
An important factor is, a Hyperboom 2 is overdue, the Hyperboom has been out for almost 3 years now. I'm sure Ultimate Ears won't let JBL have a better sounding and bassier speaker for long, they're called Ultimate Ears for a reason, they're the best portable speaker brand. Hyperboom 2 will likely have a subwoofer too. A Megaboom 4 is WAY OVERDUE, it's been out for 4 and a half years! Ultimate Ears has just been slow releasing newer upgraded speakers, slower than the competition.
I compared boombox 3 with the hyperboom and with the soundcore motion boom plus..... It takes a lot of music to come to a conclusion... The hb is a very good speaker, but i misses the very high, the equaliser cannot help, the speaker is not there you can say. I don't miss the ultra low, it's less then the 3 but okay. The 3 is really a party speaker with its ultra low, but the midlow is too little and the midhigh is far too loud. It has the highest volume. 3 band equaliser is far too simple otherwise things could be corrected. The sc is a beautiful speaker, but it really misses a ultra low speaker, correction with equaliser lets the low speaker explodes, overdriven.. So no partying.. I would love to chose the hb but the (very) high can't be corrected with the 5band equaliser. The 3band equaliser of the 3 is a shame for jbl. The 9band equalizer of sc can correct a lot even the ultra low but not at a high volume... It really misses a ultra low speaker... With that it would be sublime. Maybe with a 10 band equaliser the 3 could perform much better . So for at home i chose sc, for a party i chose the 3. Still waiting for the best overall speaker...... 😇😥
Idc what speaker sounds the best, it's just think that all of them are really good in music, but I much prefer a jbl or a sony or I could with the hyperbole, but my preference is a jbl, but overall all the speakers does sound good in my opinion.
The Hyperboom will no doubt sound less scratchy and fuller at maximum volume. Although the Boombox 3 is better than the Boombox 2 in this regard that’s only because the 2 was absolutely unlistenable at maximum. If the price tag is an issue you can buy the Hyperboom refurbished from UEs site for under 400 dollars (last time I checked) No matter what you get you will be impressed by either.
@JBL King 2 The only reason it gets louder is because it boosts upper mids and treble. The Hyperboom remains flat all the way to max. The fact that it is only a couple db quieter is nearly unnoticeable but what is noticeable is how the Hyperboom seems to have more punch behind the bass and natural sounding treble at maximum. The boombox will obviously win out at the lower volumes due to the deeper bass the subwoofer can output and with the Hyperboom lacking dynamic bass adjustment for lower volume levels. The stock eq on the Boombox boosts lower bass and mids. This is problematic in some songs where the mids and vocals are supposed to sound distance. Don’t get me started on the Tribit stormbox blast since it is exactly the same situation except the fact that the stock eqs are even more horribly unbalanced. Thank god the Tribit comes with a reasonable eq.
I have both and the Hyperboom can handle much louder sounds if you use a fx or volume booster. I find it weird also how no one mentions the hyperbooms Bass eq setting which gives it a bass boost while keeping the same audio quality. Love them both, but feel much more satisfied with the hyperboom. Also love how it keeps the same audio quality when unplugged. This is my opinion.
The hyper boom in this comparison test doesn't even compare, not sure if I am listening wrong but it sounds too flat and really low, low bass and low stereo. Plus it looks like a suitcase like wtf can't seem to understand where the love comes from for your recommendations of the hyper boom. I have owned both the JBL BOOMBOX 2 and the Sony XG500 and can surely say they will win any day with Sony having better bass

I was wondering if I pair 2 hyperboom together, can they play in stereo?
Yes
I’ve got 2 boombox 3’s and I love them. Found them at a local Walmart for an insane price of 329$
Now they are 250 here
@@Beardman56got a boombox 3 for £279 🎉😂
500 in alaska
I love my Hyperboom, but when we're at the beach for a good 5-6 hours the battery lasts about 3.4 hours. We have the speaker at max volume. (we make ita a party)
My question is, can anyone recommend a AC/DC Portable power supply for the hyperboom? I've seen some on amazon but dont want to get something that can potentially set my house on fire or mess up the internal battery of the speaker. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Pecron 614
There are a lot of power stations... Expensive. 150 to 300
great review man. Thank you so much.
Hyperboom is crazy good. I would recommend it
Not loud enough
@@impalerss13 hmm, I recommend go with bigger portable speakers to avoid distortions when turning up the volume.
JBL sounds so much better all around.
Just for partying
Nope
I think the boombox 3 is a OVERALL best speaker to have cuz it does everything well
Sound test was awesome🤘🏽🤩 2yrs late lol💀
Is your money in USD OR?
But finally the Boombox 3 was able to out thrown the hyperboom but I agree that the hyperboom does sound more balanced
@IsahMyStudio-on-telegran
Bruh this has to be the most pathetic fucking scam attempt I have ever seen hahahah
I'd say, the Tufton is missing in this comparison. imo ^^
Sound test was awesome my ADHD loved it!.
The sony sounds muffled, the boombox ate it for breakfast
Nope
JBL is the clear winner for me.
I beg you, please test the haman jardon aura studio4 and the Bose soundlink revolve+ 2
can you pair the bb3 with bb2 and get stereo partyboost? or does it demand identical speakers in that case too?
You need two Boombox 3s otherwise they would only play in sync.
Sony stuff is always about clarity over boom
What one is louder or has more bass outside do you think? The Jbl Boom Box 3 or the Hyperboom?
Jbl for sure
@@ontdekuzelfDo you own both?
Have you heard both?
But from what I can tell from my Hyperboom it wouldn't be hard to beat
Hyperboom is more a decent ok quality sound at a loud enough-ish sound outside
It certainly has nothing on my JBL PARTYBOX 310 that I used to wheel around with a trolley and blast all over the place, that was a solid workout with mean beats!
Oh I don't have a Hyperboom but that's what I seen on measurements and lacking compared to its competition
Can you review the newest monster blaster 3.0 nd compare it to these speakers !?
Its some type of bad amazon chinese speaker... not even in the conversation
Cuál es la mejor para ti?
I'd like to have xg500 because i have xb33
Can you set the Sony at 90% volume
The Sony sounds muffled, or is it just me?
Nope bro sony got a update it is clear now
I Need help im never had a speaker heard that JBL is good but idk🤷🏽♂️ i just want a speaker that is loud and has good bass. For example i wanna take it to the Basketball court and hear it while balling up. What do y’all recommend ?
Boombox 3 is king!! ❤
Just picked up the boombox 3 and boy it doesnt dissapoint, i tried it in my car and the mirrors were shaking like i have a subwoofer 🤣🤣 shits cra z
Claro que tiene un subwoofer dedicado a las frecuencias bajas amigo yo tengo el boombox 3 wifi.
I thought the JBL3 had a mic jack?
I have the Hyperboom and its sound great.
Heyyy gymcaddy, I'm a very big fan of how you review speakers I would really appreciate if you could review the onyx studio speakers I'm concerned how they would hold up in terms of real world use
Hyperboom UE es el rey de calidad, equilibrio y alta fidelidad en sonido de bocinas inalámbricos.
JBL has pronounced mids, and clearly. I heard it so much!) Cool audio system, Gymcaddy... thanks for the review. But I don’t need such a huge bandura, and in Russia it costs more than 700 dollars ... I will take Extreme 3 !!! I liked it) I have never had a JBL ... Soon I will order ... oh yes!
OK :))
Import?
Boombox 3 is the best in all bass treble and loudness
is the rumor of ue hyperboom 2 true?
Its clear as day SONY IS THE BEST SOUNDING ONE HERE 👌 🙌 😌 . CLEAR CRISP SOUND .
How many watts is the sony?
Dont go with the sony just go with ue or jbl
30w
JBL BB3 takes the win by a mile
Well after looking around and wanting the Boombox 3.
Ring JBL in Australia only to find out theres still no ETA for release date into the country
Soooo HyberBoom it is
An important factor is, a Hyperboom 2 is overdue, the Hyperboom has been out for almost 3 years now.
Any reviews confirm that theory?
Thanks!
Sony just sounds sad. Hyperbooms not bad but it doesn't compete with jbl
Jbl 🎉🎉🎉 my dream
Good music test i have the headache
Woburn III pleaseeeeee!!!
Boombox go boom
Bb3 ❤❤❤
personally not pershonally there is no 'H' when spelling
I have the sony, very good and clear sound, for all kind of music, is not parameter to listen in youtube need to listen in ilve
Bias but honest love it
I liked the JBLthe most.
The boombox 3 kills the others in my opinion.
As DLX's shirts say, I'm
Justa
Bass
Lover
😂
Idc what speaker sounds the best, it's just think that all of them are really good in music, but I much prefer a jbl or a sony or I could with the hyperbole, but my preference is a jbl, but overall all the speakers does sound good in my opinion.
The JBL Boombox 3 sounds better than Hyperboom in my opinion.
The Sony sounds WHACK in comparison to the other two!
I waited for this video to help me decide between the BB3 and the Hyperboom and I still can't decide 😂
go with the boombox 3 because of the waterproof and its software updates will get better
The shape of the hyper boom doesn't make it ideal for taking to the beach imo, also not waterproof
The Sony is very muffled, JBL sound the most full for me
Sony ❤❤❤❤ jbl 😂😂😂😂😂
The hyper boom in this comparison test doesn't even compare, not sure if I am listening wrong but it sounds too flat and really low, low bass and low stereo. Plus it looks like a suitcase like wtf can't seem to understand where the love comes from for your recommendations of the hyper boom.
I have owned both the JBL BOOMBOX 2 and the Sony XG500 and can surely say they will win any day with Sony having better bass
everthing start with s is shhh for him .
Looks like I’m getting the boombox 3 lol looks and has better bass
Hyperboom better durability. JBL failed me a few times
Por favor en versión español saludos.
xg500 sounds like a mess
best overall boombox 3
Overall is the hyperboom, party is boombox 3
I love jbl speaker but their design is ugly especially the boombox 2 and 3
They look really nice in person
Boombox 3 is the best
