HOW TO MAKE WREWRE SOUP || GHANA'S MOST DEMANDED SPECIAL SOUP || MUSK MELON SOUP

  • Wrewre or the wild melon seeds is a perfect seed used to make soup in Ghana. This unlike the agushie or akatoa seed is very distinct , they are smaller, thinner and look like sunflower seeds and the final soup tastes like peanut butter soup with a little strong flavour. So if you are allergic to nuts, this is a great substitute for you.
    In order to pull off this soup, one has to be very attentive to details in order for it not to curdle.
    This soup is a well celebrated soup indigenous to Ghanaians( the Akans) and it is mostly eaten during big functions and special days like Christmas and New Year.
    INGREDIENTS:
    Any protein of choice but I am using:
    Smoked Oxtail with skin(Padua)
    Goat meat
    Red Fish
    Kotodwe( Cow feet)
    Habanero Pepper
    Fresh tomatoes
    Onion
    Ginger
    Garlic(optional)
    Wrewre ( Musk or wild melon seeds)
    Salt to taste
    Any seasoning cube or powder( use in moderation)
