there's an endless number of artist who if funded, could create visual experiences, toys, figurines, but....... what does all that really mean? What does it really do for Humanity and Culture. This type of artist is like a Co-sign artist. Would people care if a celebrity never co signed? its just random plastic figurines. I get the general message of creating non-white children superheroes? but is making plastic figures with goggles enough? I was hoping he would dive deeper into the details of his messages and idea with the whole thing. I can't seem to find much more about it on the internet either. and its not like white kids grow up thinking they can be Superman or Spiderman, and if they do, they'll grow out of that as soon as another kid makes fun of them. truth is, humans aren't superheroes, we have amazing potential, but we also have our faults. I feel like its not very deep of a message. KID Super is doing the same thing. doesn't mean much. if you get DETAILED about what the superpowers are? or just any details really, it will give the viewer much more to work with.
I can understand your wanting to know more about the thought process of why he created FLYBOY. It's possible that his motivation for creating FLYBOY was born out of his feelings as a kid watching superhero cartoons and that it really isn't that deep. Perhaps that simple concept draws people to his art, whether they are celebrities or not. Some artists create from intuition informed by their upbringing and that intuition can resonate with like-minded individuals. Just my two cents he could in fact have a profound concept behind FLYBOY.
