Another Early Episode of ATHF you can tell because the house looks different and the Aqua teens actually solve mysteries instead of doing random stuff.
It must have been so surreal watching this late at night in the early 2000s and having no context whatsoever. The earlier seasons have a certain charm in their low budget animation
Early Adult Swim was great but not out of the norm or unique. The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy on Fox and Comedy Centrals Dr Katz and Southpark were all airing new episodes at the time. MTV had something similar with Liquid Television in the early 90s, followed by Beavis & Butthead in the mid 90s continuing with other adult themed cartoons. To me, the most surreal and out there was Spaceghost, which had been on for years before Cartoon Network created Aduly Swim. The genius of Adult Swim was using the off hours to cater to a different demographic just like Nickolodian had done previously with Nick at Night. That 1st run of Adult Swim was the best though. Spaceghost, ATHF, Home Movies, Sealab, Harvey Birdman, Cowboy Bebop. Amazing lineup.
@@mfcamillus211I love how so many ATHF fans were kids who would stay up late at night and caught this block, similar to Nick at Nite. It's like we're a little club of misfits. 😂 I honestly miss those days before streaming and networks had to innovate to keep viewership up at weird hours. It gave some of the best shows.
This was probably not only the first episode of ATHF I ever saw, but maybe the first of anything on Adult Swim as a kid I still remember hearing Frylock say "Go down to the damn park", thinking that was weird for a show on Cartoon Network, before realizing this was definitely not a kids cartoon around the point of the line "What in the hell is THAT?!" Been a fan ever since 😌
My dad found me watching this show, years and years and years ago. He thought they were supposed to be a McDonald's happy meal until the serial killer invited them to the attack and he seen the corpses lmfao
Everytime Meatwad complains about Shake's antics to Frylock, he always acts as if Frylock doesn't believe him, even though Frylock already is aware of Shake's antics.
My favorite episode. "The real rainbow! I did it! I brought love and joy to us all!" *Rainbow rips Carl's house from foundation* "...well I gotta go, see ya later then."
I like the episodes where they actually use the whole "aqua team" plot. Most episodes seem like just random madness while there's some where they actually carry out "missions"
Most of the show is spent skirting the elephant in the room, which is how to update the premise of animate food objects. It started off with having them interact with Dr.Wierd's inventions with a loose emphasis on Shake spearheading operations But then we get into the nitty gritty of how non human creatures survive or identify with basic human needs, like where they shower or go to the bathroom. How they pay rent or abide by city codes, and what counts for 'nutrition' for a ball of literal meat Frylock is the most enigmatic because it's established that he's flesh and bone under there and has an engine as the source of his powers So while Shake is the most outspoken, only Frylock has the organizational skills to keep the lights on. He's a beast of burden There is an infinite number of ways to portray this dynamic along with Carl, the baseline for human reason
"you are not even a leprechaun!" "Look. I already told you when we first meet I was half Korean and from Rhode Island and you said it didn't matter, and I'm the only one who looks normal enough to go in to town to buy us food!" That "leprechaun" was such a mood
Ahhhh what the hell is that?! You know this whole plan is just attracting a bunch of goobers! What do their shoes look like? Seems kind of stupid for doing this whole thing for shoes….. It’s not just for shoes it’s it’s… Then for what?! This banana Rama tape with no case? We really scored big on that one buddy…..
God damn! I remember the early ATHF voice acting was rough, it took a while before the Carl voice was fully fleshed out as well as the characters, for example Shake isn't as much of a piece of shit, Frylock still cares and act heroically and selflessly, meatwad on the other hand is still sorta meatwad, he'd get plenty over on shake as the show went on. I'd say I'd give this an 8/10, the leprechauns I think only comeback for the moonenite team up episode maybe? Unless they died here in which case we never see then again, the CGI house is uncanny and it all still looks weird, I'm glad they went with a flat surface in later episodes and just fleshed out the setting as time went on and the budget got better. Fucking funny episode still to this day.
It's the first ATHF episode that feels like one :P. From there it never changed a single bit :P. Kinda impressive to do that from the second episode of a show lol, no?
1:30 I'm not sure why but that's just really funny to me for some reason, it just seems so ridiculous & dumb. I really miss the black hood narrators the show had in the first season.
Hero(Achilles) Philosopher King(Virtuous Soul) "Gold for the Bronze ~ Bronze for the Gold" The elite shall have no Gold and create no soul ensuring Bronze always turns to Gold & Gold to Bronze... Dr. Gord aka Carl ATHF
Usually when I say to myself that I'm gonna wait ten more minutes or so for something, I'll finish the rest of what Carl said. 'cause they got the chicks with the boobs on there.
Forward facing Carl is cursed
Forward facing carl looks more pissed than sideways facing carl lol
0:19 BOO!
You're forward facing
Dude I swear 😅
And Expensive.
"You know what shake? Do go you'll have fun"
Savage Carl as always lol.
OMG I love when Carl lands on his roof, falls and groans in pain, he's still got his hands on his hips the entire time!
Another Early Episode of ATHF you can tell because the house looks different and the Aqua teens actually solve mysteries instead of doing random stuff.
@UrbanistBloomsHe wasn’t as pissed as he usually is.
@UrbanistBloomsReally they all kinda do, except for Shake. Frylock sounds a lot smoother. Meatwad, more childish.
Carl's reaction whenever something happens to his house. Oh Good.
The dry sarcasm is what makes him my favorite character.
@@CrabJock yes!!!
I miss when Carl was somewhat cool with Frylock. Made it funnier when there was trouble, Carl would warn them, but encourage Shake to go.

It was pretty awesome

Emery and Oglethorpe......
were not invited is the end of that sentence

That random front facing shot of Carl is an aesthetic
This episode was the start of the craziness in the later episodes
“Great hes alive”
“Dammit”

No wonder the half-Korean leprechaun has a Squid Game uniform hanging up at 3:15
This show aged better than anyone could've imagined
He's not a Leprechaun. He's half Korean and he's from Rhode Island, but Flargan said it didn't matter.
1:06 hahah frylocks face is so calm and relaxed and yet he sounds like shake killed 76 kittens and ate thier corpses and is absolutely terrified
Carl - YEA!! HERE COMES THE GOLD!! Ahh look at this now, i dont see crap in there!! 🤣🤣

Some treasure. A Bananarama tape with no case. Really hit the jackpot there, didn't we?
If I found one on the ground randomly I'd think that'd be pretty cool tbh 😊
“Ohhhhhhh good.”

Wonder why they couldnt just animate Carl's arms above his hesd when he's hurt.
Aww, you cut out Dr. Weird. He was always the best part.
