I've been of the opinion for a week or two now that Gvardiol is not essential and the community shield backs that. Gives me confidence that such a good FPL manager agrees with my conclusion. 💪
This is the big dilemma for me, too. Muniz has been my preference for weeks, but there's that nagging doubt that Wood has the fixtures to outscore him early on
Wood had 2 seoson bad 2020/21 and 2021/22.. he is maybe old, but he had 20 starts and 14 goals and muniz 18 starts and 9 goals.. but i think fulam is stronger now.. dunno.. only wood have better start

Henderson (Valdimarson) Trent - Quansah - Barco (Johnson - bednarek) Salah - Eze - Nkunku - Smith rowe (Sangare) Håland - Isak - Solanke 1million in the bank from the start to spend wherever I need it to, rather than having it in like a Munoz instead of Bednarek. I do intend to rotate Barco, johnson and bednarek in the start, I don't really feel like I've solved it yet on what to do, but I think Salah and håland from the start is the right play, and dropping Saka, as I'm not going to captain him, and I can not defend it to spend 10m on him , when there's others players that's not that worse to less price. Tbh i think that Kamada is a better option for 5.5 mil than Eze is for 7. Kamada had his best seasons in frankfurt under Glasner so he knows how to get the best out of him. Also those transfer rumors with Eze are a little bit concerning

@@thomasnielsen5580 True but last year Forest on paper were number 4 and Palace 5 in terms of expected goals conceded. So the data says they are comparable and Forest were very unlucky. Sels will not be my long term guy but with great fixtures and not investing double in Palace defense its worth the risk for me
As far as value goes, how do you factor that? I personally multiply a price by 20 and decide if I think they’ll be above that. If they are that’s good value. I take Captaincy into effect as well. A lot of good players exceed the score without Captaincy, but Haaland and Salah require Captaincy to meet their 300 and 250 point value marks. Nkunku for example though at 6.5 only needs to get 130 to be good value. I can see him getting 150+ if he stays healthy so he looks like great value. But this is making me rethink Haaland and Salah. Obviously it will require a deeper Captaincy strategy than set and forget, but I think it will pay off realizing Haaland and Salah just don’t meet the points per price target like so many others do.
By having three 4.0s (Faes, Harwood-Bellis and Barco) in my defense along with TAA and Saliba, I can field almost the same starting lineup as the above, except I can afford Solanke instead of Wood. Might this be worth it? My lineup would look like this: Henderson (Lis) Saliba - TAA - Barco (Faes - Harwood-Bellis) Saka - Jota - Eze - Nkunku (Winks) Haaland - Isak - Solanke This would mean I'd have to play a 4.0 defender every week, which is the biggest downside, but the upside of owning Solanke over Wood might outweigh that? What do you think?
This new team looks *very* like mine. I just moved from Sangare/Muniz to Brereton Diaz/Joao Pedro, which I feel is more flexible, helping to save transfers and early wildcards.

Munoz had 4 assists in his 8 games I believe at back end of last season, has good xGi for a Def and Anderson has been linked with a move + little attacking threat
Timber normally plays on the right and not the left side. Don’t think he will take a lot of minutes from Saliba but he has to play somewhere. I would see him as more of a threat to White’s minutes.

Interested in your view on Lisandro Martinez at 4.5? United were strong defensively season before last without their injuries so it seems potentially like a cheap way into that backline.
If you want a way into the United defense, Mazroui will likely start the first 4 games of the season (maybe more, but nailed until then). He has solid attacking potential.

I wouldn't tie up 5m on a crystal palace defender personally. With Hojlund out injured too at utd and him having a rest from the England squad, I can see rashford having a much improved season at only 7.0. I've also doubled up with Fernandes as he's guaranteed goals, assists and on pens. He only got around 40 points less than saka last season and utd will be stronger this season without doubt. Liverpool look good too but hard to pick their attackers with any confidence outside of Salah. Gone with Gabriel over saliba as they're both going to offer similar returns but again frees up funds to strengthen elsewhere. My take on it for what it's worth 😅
I like Munoz as a pick but unless it's a very strong cleansheet predictions, I'm not a fan of doubling up defensive players and prefer to diversify at the start of the season. Constructively speaking, if you could fork out 5.0 for him and don't mind doubling up, you might as well go for Zinchenko.

The reason gvardiol was much deeper was simply because Rico was playing,nothing too deep although I still think his attacking output is overated,had a great spell but that's it

If anything the chance is significantly higher now that Gvardiol will play that higher role because: - The center-backs are back - Grealish/Foden will rotate on the left, not Savinho - Savinho/Doku will rotate on the right because of Bobb's injury

One warning I'd give with double palace defense is if u take a closer look at their fixtures they only face one or 2 teams which have a bad attack

But quality of the team also matters considering price. Nottingham is worse overall than Crystal Palace.

No Rodri in the CS Match should have also had an impact on Gvardiol's positioning in that match.

No one mentions Pope. Newcastle had a great record with him, it only went downhill when he got injured

what about szoboszlai as an option , could be more nailed than any other attacker other than salah. Thoughts?

The reason gvardiol was much deeper was simply because Rico was playing,nothing too deep although I still think his attacking output is overated,had a great spell but that's it

Even if CS is gone you can take points from saves and attacking returns
If Henderson is the best 4.5 GK doesnt make sense to sell him because you have Palace defender,you will get a worse one so avoid the double up?
@@georgeeffraimidis5610 fair point. I’m one of those managers who likes to diversify in defence, only exception was the insane arsenal defence last year. I’ve gone with Henderson and Aina.

Get Haaland, at least for gw2 onwards
If anything the chance is significantly higher now that Gvardiol will play that higher role because:
- The center-backs are back
- Grealish/Foden will rotate on the left, not Savinho
- Savinho/Doku will rotate on the right because of Bobb's injury
