This is my reaction, analysis and breakdown of Gabriel Henrique singing Cynthia Erivo’s “Stand up,” from the movie Harriet. This is such a wonderful performance, featuring some amazing belts, great riffs & runs, and beautiful interpretations of this melody. There’s lots of great things we could learn here, how he uses his breath, where he chooses to clip notes, which he chooses to leave long. Overall a very tasteful interpretation of this song and yet another one that Gabriel has destroyed.
I am a jazz/R&B vocalist, baritone saxophone player, music educator, and vocal coach local to New Orleans. I have two degrees in jazz/music education and work professionally playing music. I think you may already know his story but just in case: he's never had formal singing lessons, he sang at the church and at singing shows on TV since he was 7 y.o, an incredible self taught talent 💚

honestly though church is an amazing teacher for singing

Your Portuguese pronunciation is really good, I’ve seen many videos of non native speakers trying to imitate what they translate on google and, oh gosh, they mess a lot, but you have such good ears that you sound way more natural than Google’s voice. I know it’s a robot, but google translate has become so refined that it sounds close to how people speak, only the speed is a bit weird, but you do a 10/10 job with Portuguese.

I'd to give you a tip: To sound more natural in Portuguese pronounce the letter "r" in the nickname of Gabriel as a "H". Like "EnHik" Your pronounce is almost correct except by the R sound.
