  • In this video, Pinoy Plantito shares some of the most confusing similar looking or identical looking plants. He first discussed the importance of proper identification of plants in plant care and in buying plants especially online.
    He then ategorized the plants to be compared into:
    1. easy - those which are commonly mistaken plants but with apparent or obvious distinctions.
    2. Those identical or similar looking only at some point in their growth
    3. Difficult - those plants whose non apparent distinctions need to be closely scrutinized.
    The varieties of plants compared inlclude monstera deliciosa, monstera borsgiana, dragontails, tetrasperma, dieffenbachias, syngoniums, anthuriums, pothos etc.

    Super interesting, the different species looking so similar and mimicking in the juvenile forms. Despite your small space, the philodendron maximum would look amazing growing up on a vertical support and not take away any of your floor space. Please be aware of the toxins in the dumb cane ( Dieffenbachia) , as you have a young child. Great content as usual !

    Hi sir, would like to ask about the pothos in your last part. So what's the proper nomenclature of N'Joy, Pearls and Jade, Glacier, and Manjula? Would it go like this? 👇🏼
    E. aureum 'Marble Queen' cv. Pearls and Jade

    • @PinoyPlantito
      @PinoyPlantito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. From what I know names of cultivars are prescribed by a certain intwrnational body for preservation of species of plants. The general rule however is to the botanical name + the vernacular name of the cultivar. For example yhe botanival name of pothos is Epipremnum aureum + Pearls and Jade. So E. aureum pearls and jade.

    Hi Neil how to you spray your organic anti-pest spray? On the whole plant, just the roots or leaves only? And is late afternoon the best time?

    • @PinoyPlantito
      @PinoyPlantito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi spray them on the stems, undersides of the leaves and even on the soil specially when there are ants.

    • @PinoyPlantito
      @PinoyPlantito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Word of caution tho...havent tried it on every plant only to alocasias, syngoniums and caladiums...some plants may be too sensitive for this.
