Thank you, that was a very clear and informative video. While I still have every intention of running my Stam Arcanist solo, I have two Wardens that would be easy to change over for Duo's.
@@Nightharrow it does! I seriously put off using it until I decided what to do with that character. I still try not to use the Beam much when other players are around. As much as I like the graphics, I DO wish they would turn it down some! It's now 2nd on my wish list, 1st is dying the summon pets. LoL..
9:47 blocking with ice staves spends magicka, not stamina. Unless you do not put skill points into Tri Focus, but then you loose on important shields from heavy attacks
Yep, I would definitely recommend not putting points into tri focus. The shield is nice, but it’s not worth it in a mag dps build. And most of the time you won’t be heavy attacking so it won’t matter.
Bear, like sorc pets, just die over and over again later on. I also prefer ele susc, as it will guarantee status effects. Had up to 4x focused efforts, status effect damage is silly on my arc tank.
I'd honestly prefer dawnbreaker and either ele rage or northen storm. With constant deaths, it doesn't really contribute much. I also love pearls there. Running pearls, and azureblight in my final form. If my partner dies, I gain mitigation. 40k health and 33k resists anywhere after arc 5, before that I am more hybrid. AB is just a tad broken on arcanists.
i've always known to just keep bear slotted for the crit damage passive, and slot whatever ult you wanna actually use on back bar. never ran the numbers to know if the db passive is better than the animal companions passive
Hmm, you know I didn’t take into account that this is small group content and so there are not as many crit damage buffs, so it could be that the bear is better. Likely they are pretty close though. Also realize that you can use the bear now that they fixed it.
@@Nightharrowfixed it how? I've been gone a while and just catching up on the game. Love the content by the way, stumbled on you while researching what I've missed
Thank CAniniAC! There was an issue where pets just died so fast, even at the early stages of the IA that they were not worth running. It’s better now but still not perfect. Just be ready to swap it out if you Mr bear can’t stay alive.
yea so much diversity, basically 2 real builds are good the rest are trash, I wanna say this build here is not high tier, I got to 6 and I am not a EA spammer, I can weave but I don't do the crazy animation canceling that makes the game look like complete garbage, so the fact that he HAD A DUO and barely got to 6 makes me doubt this build. Also almost 0 buffs to HA or anything you would think is cool, like frost/fire/magic damage. So EA is shit and not diverse at all. My build was the status effect build, that's the one out of 2 builds, when you think about it having status effect be your dmg in EA means it's a complete clown shithole fest. But then again, 2000% bonus status effect damage, while anything else gets 3% bonus at most, fuck zenimax.
Yeah, I’m aware, just misspoke and missed it in editing. I think a few others have pointed this out as well. Missile shields proc it as well, so wall & shimmering. It’s a sweaty tank strat for trials, we are just adapting it here.
I should be more clear. Since our ice wall gives us a missile shield we can use that 6 seconds to give us extra block mitigation. It’s a trick you can use with shimmering shield as well.
Thank you so much for this! Think Breton could benefit this build somehow? I see myself having sustain issues outside of EA, and I'd like to use this build for general solo purposes, not only EA.
Breton would definitely make the sustain better. You will loose a bit of damage, but well worth it for having sustain while solo if that’s your main purpose (same goes for the archive).
Correct, or you could go mag shaulks. If solo I would consider swapping out either trap or swarm, situation depending. Edit: This is assuming you are pretty far in, and have the status effect buff. Otherwise winters revenge is fine to swap out.
No, generally speaking I wouldn’t use any EA build in a trial, one is built entirely for damage and the other ends up basically a tank by the end. A trials Dps build is a good place to start for the endless archive though. Here is my brottleden build, I think it’s what you are looking for. ESO Magicka Warden Build: Brittle-den DPS Build For Solo & Trial Content U36 Firesong th-cam.com/video/gT1DXHrt4eI/w-d-xo.html I have plans to update this build but they are minor.
Oh I don’t have any plans to grind out solo. The run in the background was arc 6 with no tank, so you should be good to there at least. I was at like 27k resistance, Dps cp, missing some passives, no engine guardian, and probably a few other differences.
Bar space is just at such a premium in the archive. I think it would be fine to run, it’s just the opportunity cost that’s the issue to me. Since making this I have also started running shimmering shield for the major heroism. With the buffs you can get, it can have 100% uptime in trash. So lots of good options, and I would definitely encourage trying stuff out and seeing what works for you.

Ward master is in effect when we block AND have a damage shield active. A damage shield needs to be on
Yeah, I’m aware, just misspoke and missed it in editing. I think a few others have pointed this out as well. Missile shields proc it as well, so wall & shimmering. It’s a sweaty tank strat for trials, we are just adapting it here.
Doesn't Ward Master only give you damage mitigation if you're blocking WHILE you have a damage shield active?
Yep, but it works with missile shields, so you will have it up 60% of the time ideally.
I should be more clear. Since our ice wall gives us a missile shield we can use that 6 seconds to give us extra block mitigation. It’s a trick you can use with shimmering shield as well.
Good build, have you tried running pulsar with the Frost Staff? I like to run pulsar with a heavy attack weave against trash.
Yeah it works well but just not sustainable typically is all.
