I used to see Ira riding his bike around Hoboken. Actually, one time I looked in the window, and saw him working out at this 24 hour fitness place at like 11 at night. YLT rocks. Such a great trio. Underground and amazing
So excited they're still at it! I can't imagine a band that has a deeper catalog of incredible albums and can't wait to hear the new one. Very grateful for what has been 30 years of music for me since I saw them on a rainy field in New Jersey in 1993. Thank you Ira, Georgia and James
love KEXP for putting us on to such great artists. YLT have a pretty big catalog, so you’re in for a treat. fav albums are Painful and And Then Nothing. cheers ~
So nice to hear new music from a wonderful band that's been with me for two-thirds of my life... I saw them in Chicago much too long ago and it was such a pleasure. All the best!
A friend of a friend saw them in Chicago a couple weekends ago, and Wilco got on stage with them! I saw them early March in Asheville, NC, but no Wilco.
No kick drums were harmed in the recording of this performance. Wow. I love the stripped down drums, it leaves so much space for the other instruments. Absolutely killer band.
Yeah, love those stripped down drums too. Last summer I got the opportunity to see both YLT and Low at a festival and was just amazed at the simple setup they both had, and how great they sounded. Mimi parker had a hi hat, a ride, a snare and a tom, and the tom sounded so bassy it made my whole body shake, it was amazing. RIP
Beach House is one of my favorite bands and Victoria always mentions Yo La Tengo as a big influence, I can see why now, amazing performance, coozy and chill. This Stupid World is GOLD
I saw them open for Beach House ten years ago at the Baltimore Opera House. Lower Dens also played. One of my best concert experiences and I've been to a LOT.
Sameeeeeeee n I feel so dumb for not having them and slowdive thru my whole childhood. Almost feel like I'd be a different person or something but they both clicked for me at the right time. And ughhhh swoon swoon for the house beach n queen vic
What a treat! Saw them last month and they were absolutely wonderful. YLT has been my favorite band for years and I don’t think that’ll change anytime soon:)
Discovered later in life, but very quickly took over as one of my all-time favorites. I hope this new live session means they are touring the new album and coming to a city near me.
Saw them at the Neptune theatre the first night. Ira and the band made my girlfriend and i cry because of the energy and passion they were giving. Beautiful
@@juanfranciscotorresguerra2483 girlfriend started crying when they played autumn sweater. I cried when they were playing “this stupid world”. We were late to the show and showed up at the second set.”This stupid world” was the first song of that set and It actually was pretty perfect to walk into. We didn’t mind and loved every minute.

Indie Rock Royalty... a chef's kiss to KEXP for getting Yo La Tengo on the show.
One of the most consistent bands ever. Keep it up YLT!

Georgia has easily one of my favorite singing voices. She also bears a striking resemblance to my dissertation supervisor... 😂
So much influence of the Velvet Underground & Nico in "Aselestine", it's wonderful

Yo La Tengo are such a unique band, their sound evolved over the years and around 2000 they really solidified into something really special.
I think it's basically when James joined, I love Ride The Tiger though!
Painful, I Can Hear The Heart Beating as One and Electro Pura are 3 fine albums from the 90s. Love all their music.

I always like YLT. Saw them live in NY in 1996.
I appreciate the band's remarks about the stage crew's investment of time. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. Every day.

From my introduction via Hal Hartley's Simple Men and Amateur to this KEXP performance, YLT has been the unwavering heartbeat of my indie soul.
