100% agree mate. Standout set of this year for me and I am not a horror fan at all. Really enjoy drafting this and opening it. The collector boxes were a real treat to open too
I love DuskMourn and would totally call it my favorite set of the year, but that's mostly for flavor reasons. This box was amazing, but just makes me wonder what will happen with 6 less packs? That's a lot less chances to hit the 80% box price for sure. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens, but I'm still disappointed in that move, as Play Boosters already seem kinda underwhelming with so few chances at really unique hits and SG being nothing like The List to help potentially recoup some of that money.
I am not happy about the reduction in packs. That feels like a huge rug pull. They justified the price point of Play Booster boxes with the addition of those six packs that were not in Set boxes.
Im a huge horror fan and while i wasnt a huge fan of the 80s glam style for the humans(feel like they couldve gone 80s punk to fit the set better, but, whatever) but the mechanics were really cool, tons of awesome cards, the artwork is amazing and for the most part the lore was pretty cool. So many auto includes into most of my decks, especially in red and black. Dusk has a solid land cycle, good power in the Commons and uncommons as well as the tares and mythics, lots of power crept stuff like Withering Torment(just a way better feed the swarm), I feel like there's just almost no negative in the set. I hate the secondary lands they printed. They were barely playable in limited and are just filler and when you hit it, it's really just a feel bad. I think that's my only complaint.
Agree, the “Survivors” were a bit of a miss on the art aesthetic. But that’s about it for me on nit picks for Duskmourn. I feel like they largely nailed the horror tropes.
I like your thought. OTJ feels really underrated for me. People kind of look at it as “better than expected” which is also fair but I think it’s also just good! Obviously I echo your thoughts on Duskmourn.
Duskmorun and OTJ are in the running for me. The Extra Sheets for OTJ are way strong. I really like both of them. Bloomborrow is my biggest disappointment. I wanted it to be awesome and it fell flat for me.
OTJ definitely gets some love from me. The bonus sheets were gold and also made limited really fun. It’s funny because I think a lot of people have Bloomburrow ranked high. I enjoyed it but I also had high expectations and I’m not sure my expectations were met…
Untimely Malfunction and Withering Torment are also high value uncommons that were glossed over in this opening...
I think I stopped in the showcase withering! But, yes, those are also $2-$3 uncommons!
Of the sets released this year, I think its pretty close between MH3 and Dusk. Honorable mention to outlaws. Nice box!
I like the honorable mention to Outlaws. I think that set gets a little overlooked but was actually pretty good.
OTJ was my favorite set this year, as far as an opening experience.
With the triple bonus sheet, OTJ definitely was a fun opening experience!

Duskmourn was one of the best limited environments I can remember.
this year had a lot of surprised sets outlaw and duskmourn foundation and fallout was way bigger then expected. hoping next year is just as good
Agree! We got some really strong sets this year and I hope 2025 is just as good.

@WildcatMTG That's exactly my thoughts on Bloomborrow. I expected it to be so much more than it was.
