This week I noticed my brand new nukeproof horizons were coming off the spindles after a few rides. It turns out the axle caps were almost falling out of the pedals. Not exactly ride ready on delivery! Maybe something for the QA people to keep tabs on. This video was helpful in fixing the problem, so thanks for posting!
Nice one, what I wonder though is what kind of 9mm socket is used. Tried two and both where to thick to go deep enough to grab the nut. Anything special needed here?
End cap came of my neutron on the first ride. Tightening up the other side so this doesn’t happen. How will I know when to stop tightening the end cap because it seems to keep going. Is there a torque setting for it ?
@@Door_handle_cat if you still have those pedals, you can put some sort of oakum on that cap and put it back so there is much more friction. It worked with my ones
Its a bit unfortunate that we need specialty tools to service the pedals. By the time you get the tools and the service set, you might as well buy new pedals....
Hi Joao, if you google DU bushing removal tool you should find them, they should be pretty available. the bearing removal tool is a little more difficult
@@NukeProofBikes1 I have been able to remove the bearings using the axle with the nut on but I cannot find the DU bushing tool anywhere online. Could you provide a link please.
@@NukeProofBikes1 I also cannot find the bushing tool. Got my old bushings out but can't set the new ones at the correct depth. My pedals are useless without it.
Nukeproof I got these pedals recently and after only two rides some of the inside and outside pins have fallen out. Is this normal or should I be using something like threadlocker on them?
Hi Lucas, That's not usually an issue, they may just need tension checking on the grub screws to ensure that they are tight, but should not need thread lock on them

Exactly the same on mine! I must say I'm surprised the end caps pre-load the bearings. They are plastic... 😕
@@BillCarrIpswich they are aluminum

Just try different ones, some are thicker than others. They look similar but they are not exactly the same
So good, I was looking for this video for a long🤘🏼
Any torque settings

Even set to 2NM it just keeps tightening.. worried it will pull something through the plastic

can you tell me what the life span is on the bushing before need to replace

Don’t need the tools at all, it’s not that easy but you can use other tools
I did not use any special pedal tools either. You need just standard socket spanner and allan keys :)
how often whe need to service the pedals?
Any tips for removing ground in mud from the inside and outside pins that are middle of the pedal that need tightening to stay in?
Is the x2 DU bush (BM1010) meant to be MB1010?
Good video, but where do we buy the #8 Bearing removal tool and DU bushing removal tool ?

@@NukeProofBikes1 can you please tell me the correct size of the du bushing tool, so I don't buy a wrong one. Thank you very much.
@@NukeProofBikes1 Yeh whats the correct size NP?

What bearings are in the horizons?
Where do you get the removal tools,(got the allen keys)and spare parts,
Is the process the same for the regular Horizon Pro pedals without the titanium axle?
Yes, exactly the same for all our pedals :)

Nukeproof thanks I will do that.
Mine did the same after a couple of rides. Amazed the pins come out so easily on the inside and the outside of the pedal
Can anyone tell me where to to find the tool to remove the pedal bushings as i can't find one anywhere and i need to fix my Sam Hill pedals
Its a 9mm socket I'm pretty sure
