Timaru is a port city in the southern Canterbury region of New Zealand, located 157 km (98 mi) southwest of Christchurch and about 196 km (122 mi) northeast of Dunedin on the eastern Pacific coast of the South Island.
Could not get much closer to the beach especially the repaired section just south of Timaru. Should not the end be the Studholme. Do a bit of work at the factory which can be a good spot for train watching.

I presume you had your GoPro fixed to the side of the short hood with a suction mount?
Looking forward to the Stadler class DM arriving

Glenavy to Oamaru would be great to see.
What's the line speed on the line south of Timaru Geoff? Real sad to see a freight train passed by a truck hauling steel boxes with ICE engines :|
What country was this in? Also, will we get to see the rest of the trip after the red light?
