I'm glad the price fell through the floor. At 35,000 yen new, it was an autobuy, but at RRP of 85,000 I always balked. I do feel sorry for the Pre-orderers and earlybirds, considering how prices tanked and stock piled up. :(

@@nostalgicforthe70s18 That’s what most overseas sites are charging(around $160-$200 US) for shipping. $799 I think is pushing it, add on the shipping and it’s overboard. Although I will add that a lot of overseas sites have listed at $650 US.
lack of weapons and accessories is the draw back on this one. bandai will be milking fans thru pbandai and later on price of this gx-100 will continue to go up. thats the sad part.

I do agree that the price is too high for what you get but since I am a Force Five Fan from a kid this is the SOC Gaiking to get as I don't know if Bandai will release the Gaiking figure separately. It would have been nice if it had some sound effects but if I am wrong I believe this was to be a DX release than changed to a GX release so maybe they cut out a lot of gimmicks. I still haven't taken it out of the box as I need to add more shelf space as this thing is pretty big.
Like the video. Have to agree on not buying it from lack of die cast. I've been debating on buying it since it's release. Also, typical bandai move in selling the weapon accessories as web exclusive. The Gx-05 had them included. I'm getting Grendizer Gx-76 flashback. With shipping, this figure will be over $1,000 when fully complete. Bandai should have included Gaiking in their F.A. line & enlarged the gx05 version a few inches and make it the Gx 100.
If gaikumaryu is diecast the price would have been justified but Bandai decided to make it plastic. I like the way they treated DX voltes V where the majority of the parts are diecast and it came with a complete accessories and it was way cheaper than this GX100 plastic. I hope if ever they will release DX daimos it would be the same treatment as voltes v not like this plastic gx100.
I missed out on that one. I'm hoping they'll complete the trilogy with DX Grendizer. Love Daimos and it needs to be re-issued. Still wish I should have bought the godaikin of him instead of bio man.

This is so titanic, so is the tag price which I don't think is justifiable even if they put those posters. The add-ons should have been included in the price and not a separate set.
Have been looking forward to this beauty for two years now. But the lack in diecast is really disappointing. I can’t spend $900 for a sandbox toy sized plastic piece..
$900 is too much. $250 extra. But yea, the only pure die cast is Gaiking here. I mean, DX voltes V which tons of die cast and complete set is way more cheaper retail.
If you have access to japan stores they are selling it now for 40,000 yen plus and plus shipping fee. It’s like 30% to 40% off from retail price. Try Mandarake.

It went down. I think this is the only soul of chogokin that the price went down. I guess not too popular compared to grendizer, voltron and voltes v.

I believe GX-27 was the Gaiking single release. Not sure if it’s the same mold as this one.

That shoulder joint is very fragile. I have a copy that I'm trying to fix where that stem has snapped.
I suggest getting a plastic cement and pinning it.
