I remember the days back in the 1970s and 1980s when ultrasonic friction welding , friction stir welding and it's tooling was practically top secret. It was exclusively used in the aerospace industry for making key rocket and stealth aircraft parts back in the 1970s and 1980s. Now anyone with $5000 can pick up such a tool used. First applications of ultrasonic welding was used on metals that couldn't be structurally welded such a titanium and Inconel steel in making small turbine blisks and one piece stator blade rings for small turbo engines. Once friction welded, the metal cooled very uniformly along the entire joint or seam and it was like there was no joint there in the first place. The friction welding was so flawless X-Ray diffraction could not detect microscopic flaws and stress points. I am not sure if it was Siemens or Rockwell that first invented this form of welding but it was not patented as the DoD wanted this technology transferable to other competing defense contractors at the time.

Hi Jason,thanks for your comment, the surface of the parts have been all checked after the parts molded, the parts was put on the ultrasonic welding machine for ultrasonic. the fixture was made to fix the part on the machine during the ultrasonic process. so the ultrasonic were doing correctly everytime to the parts.. Noticed under layment on fixture n operator not checking surface of part prior to packing. Several components bonding. Why underlayment on fixture?

can it use for PP type plastic
Yes, sure, PP is a very common plastic material and any plastics can have ultrasonic welding process.. ABS, PC, PP, POM etc..
