I'm born and raised in Charlotte and was at the game cheering on Charlotte FC! It was cool seeing Chelsea in the states though and seeing Pulisic get on the scoresheet. Proud of the Charlotte boys. We fired our coach less than halfway through this first season, have the second lowest wage bill in the MLS, and still punch above our weight. Then to have our 16 year old academy player win the pen for us! Good game!

The guy is simply proud of his MLS team playing well against a World Class team; something most MLS players never get to do. I just watched Bayern smack my DC United 6-2 yesterday but I was simply proud to see them get a couple against the best German club in the world. Friendly or not.

Sterling was fantastic, honestly looked a class above most players on the pitch and he did a lot within one half of football while lacking full fitness. Amazing ability in tight spaces and driving at opponents which we’ve lacked recently 💙

Good to see Raheem Sterling get his debut. As for Conor Gallagher lay off the young lad. This is what pre-season is partly about. Seeing where problems need to be resolved and assessing where players can individually improve.
He literally passed the ball to the goalkeeper. Not much to improve other than learning how to kick a ball.
His pen was worse than England’s in the euros final

Charlotte goalkeeper made some spectacular saves. He kept Chelsea from winning the game in regular time. Well done Charlotte for winning the penalty kicks .🇺🇸👍🏿

I lived in Charlotte for a few years and still root for a few of their sports teams. As a Chelsea fan it’s unfortunate to see us lose in preseason but as an American this gives me some sense of national pride lol.

@@josephbassey1501 there's nothing wrong with slow build up play, what we're lacking is a quick and clinical goal decision making amongst our attackers. man city utilizes same slow build up play and they're good at it becos of their clinical attackers.
A great work out for Chelsea and a super experience for the Charlotte fans. That looks a wonderful stadium with everything you want for a real match day atmosphere .... the stands are quite close to the pitch and I bet the views are terrific. Good luck guys and with good backing who knows ... 🙂👍
Bank of America Stadium has excellent sightlines, and it is located right downtown for great views of the city and easy accessibility. I don't live in North Carolina anymore, but I love going to games there.
I was at that game and it was electric. Loved seeing Captain America score, but seeing my Charlotte pull that off was even better. We fired our coach just two months into the season, and then had the lowest payroll in the MLS, yet still just missed the playoffs thanks to a late push by just four points in the standings. Not bad for a first year expansion club.
Chelsea attacks the whole game but lacks the person who is going to finish

In all seriousness I was impressed with sterling and his willingness to take players on, also scored a great pen.
CHO and Ziyech looked lively and Mount was a class above as usual. Don’t know why Gallagher tried that after having a quiet game but it’s only a friendly so whatever.

The second half was the worst football I’ve ever seen and ziyech and odoi were not impressive in the first half… mason mount (obviously he’s good) but was no where to be found in the second half

I think we played well in the first half with the players we had which wasn’t really a surprise because most were and are regular starters. We kept the ball and moved it around well and also pressed at times and won it back quickly and surprisingly we actually took a few shots when we got the chance which is something we need to do more of. However I still feel like we lacked something which in my opinion was being clinical and consistently being ruthless in front of goal.
I don’t know man, at times we looked wonderful and untouchable and in a matter of seconds because we don’t take our chances the flip switches and we can be on the verge of conceding and to be honest don’t even want to talk about the second half because it was pretty bad compared to the first. Nothing went out way and weren’t doing things right and I feel like we’re at a point where every player should know what’s asked of them and do what’s necessary or their not good enough. But maybe I’m getting to into it since it’s just a friendly. Love my team but seriously hope next season is different 🔵
100% agree with everything you said man. Especially when it comes to us not shooting enough and being ruthless in front of goal. I think this js something we still majorly need to rectify and work on as a team

Charlotte play was actually pretty easy on the eyes at times, especially second half. It was an entertaining match and a good test.
Charlotte's highest paid (designated player) makes $2.2 million. The 2nd highest paid is bellow $1 million a year. Chelsea's top paid player gets paid enough to have 2 if not 3 Charlotte teams. I love seeing MLS playing these teams. We almost always loose but the games are more competitive than what the payrolls would suggest.

Mount has gotten so good
He has improved his speed, dribbling, Ball IQ, and vision to mend well with the wing position
Him and James improve alot since last season....both are officially our key/crucial player now....

It’s a preseason game and a random handball in the 90th. Like this is to get fitness up and in the 90th min is when mistakes will be made.
You're right about Sarr, he is very mistake prone, it's scary without a veteran on with him, but Chalobah is much better. he's still young and makes mistakes every once in a while but you get exposed a lot at cb cuz so many 1v1 situations, so he's only gonna get better.

I wonder which club batshuayi will get booted to this year...
We created some good chances and defended well. One thing I noticed is our decision making in the final third, I feel in trying to fix our finishing problem, Tuchel has overfed them with tactics so much that they are second guessing themselves when facing the defense. They don’t seem to enjoy the game at all.
They seem a little afraid to take risks in the final third. They pass the ball back too much

we had no midfield in 2nd half, we couldnt even get the ball. We were dominated how was that attackers fault? We barely made any chances

You know what’s funny? Charlotte FC and Minnesota FC aren’t even the best teams in the MLS. I really want to see these premier league teams go against the teams that been here for years
They're both mid table MLS teams. Charlotte is ranked 17th and Minnesota is 8th.
Gallagher and Ampadu really stepped up imo, although this is only a preseason. Hope to see them at least in a rotation player role.
Broja and Colwill need to learn to cultivate patience like Mount, James, and Chalobah did.

Both preseason games Chelsea has looked awful, no two ways about it. Starting off at a low point this season, hopefully they show a quick rate of improvement
I love the team work that led to the first goal. That's is what we want and we expect more. Being able to trap the ball, keeping the short passes accurate to the front, and then clinical finishing. Sterling had a great game as that of Hazard's, looking sharp with the ball which we want all other attackers to display. Not slow pace and dull striking. Team work is the key to get dangerous in front of goal not just shooting from afar of always. Opponents 18 yard box must be torn apart with team work without losing possessions, giving away passes to opponent so easily. We need to look sharp and confident. And lastly, Chalobah is a great defender but he needs to learn how to keep his hands behind when opponent tried to play shot. He should get more experience on that.
