Grey hound don't have bad or nasty people I love grey hound and the things you have said I have never experienced it's not too cold it's not too hot there is nice people on the bus the charging outlet works.i don't like the grey hound station in Atlanta I don't like using any public bathrooms I have never experienced late boarding more than 15 minutes .some of the things you said I have never experienced.
@@princessbunny4522so after months and months is Greyhound still all good? If so keep on living, sooner or later, you'll have a forgettable experience.
I've had nothing but bad experiences riding in a greyhound bus, the last time I rode in one, it was going to be a six hour trip and I stayed out very late the night before and got very little sleep. I sat towards the end and was going to try to sleep the rest of the trip until the very last minute before departure, some lady and a bunch of her kids got onboard and sat a row ahead of me and the lady's youngest child cried almost the entire trip and wouldn't shut up, the lady really made no effort to quiet that kid. And another time some weirdo sat behind me and was breathing real hard and seemed to be talking to himself since he had no cellphone, I moved to a different seat the first chance I got.
I worked for old greyhound from 1961 to 1985. Under old Greyhound, there were drivers standing by to drive if there was a no-show. I did not drive but worked in the terminal.
I'm a driver for greyhound and I have to tell you that you are 100%accurate about that driver for some reason did not want to drive. If the passengers don't complain about the bus and it runs with no issues your good to go. He was up to something. Sad. Poor customer service skills on his part. I hope you reported this.
The Greyhound drivers back in the 80s were really cool back in the day when I was riding greyhound as a kid & teenager. And the buses were Better looking coaches,?the driver’s put the sign on where the bus is going to, final destination point, nowadays the bus drivers don’t change the signs where they going. Some of them don’t. Jus a whole different set up then what it used to be. Closing all the bus stations, leaving people stranded at gas stations because greyhound to sorry to release the original stations they had. Knoxville tn and other places. Greyhound Never used to be that way. Dam a gas station get bus stations like the past. Just a hot mess. Probably not American owned I wouldn’t be surprised
Greyhound does this because they absorbed their only competition, Trailways, long ago. My uncle, who used to use the bus while in the Army in the 1980s, said that Trailways was 10x better than Greyhound, if a bit slower typically, but far more comfortable.
Because I'm a greyhound driver for the city of Los Angeles. Great video by the way 👍 I believe a major problem with Greyhound is there dispatch system called OSC. For some reason they're continuing this business with this dispatch system that doesn't work. I've been with Greyhound for almost 2 years now and I'm at the verge of calling it quits myself.
I took the Greyhound for the first time in over twenty years recently. I still have my return trip and I'm dreading it. The greyhound is like a trailer park or housing project on wheels. Some of their stations felt like correctional facilities with the way passengers were herded and shouted at by greyhound employees. In addition to fights between passengers on the bus, fights between passengers and drivers at the bus station and the overall seedy feel, buses were up to 1.5 hours late. I hope I never have to travel on greyhound again.
Randy You speek the truth! Just sit in the passenger lobby of a Grayhound depo, and youd think there filming Hill st. blues! iTS NO SHAME TO BE POOR, IM NOT KNOCKING IT. but to get on a bus with no shoes and pants with poop in the back!
I was coming back from a trip and this lady was sitting diagonally from me and, all she did was have a shouting match with a boyfriend or someone on the other end, and, she had no respect for the guy sitting next to her or the other passengers. And, every so often she would get to the point of shouting at this person. No one wanted to hear all that drama. I thought the driver would say something to her, but, the driver said, not one word to her.
You remind me of my worst Greyhound trip. From NYC to Chicago, we stopped in Gary, IN and I had to go to the bathroom REALLY bad. I asked the driver how long the stop was. He quickly walked past me and said, "as long as it takes me to do my paperwork." I went to the bathroom and was in there maybe 15 minutes. I came out and the bus was gone. 😡 I remember that helpless, empty feeling of seeing nothing but sunlight where this huge bus used to be. It was spooky. I called Chicago and told them that my stuff was on the bus and asked if someone could get my stuff and hold it while I wait about 2 hours for the next bus to come trough Gary. When I got to Chicago, they had my stuff. One item was humidor full of cigars. I looked inside and someone had stolen more than half of the cigars. I don't know if a passenger stole the cigars, the driver, or someone at the Chicago station. But I also didn't appreciate the driver's abrupt response about how much time we had. That's when I swore I'd walk before I take another Greyhound trip. That was 1997 and I haven't been on a Greyhound since then.
Thats sounds like classic Greyhound. Some of the drivers are great folks but some of them just don't care about passengers at all. And they don't seem to get into any trouble.
Hey Tim I don't know if you will see this or not but I live in Tallahassee and just took a 26 hour trip on Greyhound to the midwest. I'm glad I didn't see this video before the trip. I hope I never have to do that again. With that being said, I must say that the trip wasn't bad. Mostly because I knew what to expect from watching your videos. I was like an old pro. Thank you for the info, your videos made the trip much better due to the fact that I knew what was going to happen and what to do. Thanks again.
I got home from my Ocala, FL to Liverpool, PA. Best word to describe it was "interesting." And I understand why so many people say "Never Again!" I was expecting a lot of rude staff, but only ran into 2 -- the young woman who NEVER answered the phone at the "station" (a cubicle in the back of a truck stop) who didn't even answer the phone while I was standing in the truck stop, watching her surf Facebook on her phone. And the other one was a woman who most of the passengers came to call "The Prison Bus Driver." She was great at yelling at passengers, and her favorite line was "Life's not fair?" Seriously, she should be a prison bus driver! But I also had many helpful & courteous staff & drivers. Next time, I'll take Amtrak. LOL. I'm subscribing to your channel & looking forward to seeing more of your adventures.
Driver here. I don't know the real reason, but sometimes drivers know 'inside' things about a bus that they rather not express to passengers. And sometimes, we do call family members to check with them to get advice from a person that cares about your safety. The company maybe telling you, '"oh don't worry we fixed the problem, just go" but your gut is telling you something else. He might have gotten off to check with that family member, to let them know he got another bus. In this hypothetical, he just might have been thinking about his safety, his family, and then your safety, and really did not care if you were going to be late or not. This could have been a possibility. It is possible that this driver might have saved your life, and you just don't know it. Greyhound will not send you another bus just because the AC is bad. There was a real problem with that bus and it was not the AC.
guy this doesn't make any sense. They would be sued for millions if they knowingly put a bus full of people on the road that was unsafe to drive, so what on earth kind of info does the driver need to get on the downlow? come on....
Oh man I just came to your channel and started subbing. Excellent content. I come from the heyday of Greyhound bus service and it's sad to see how it's declined. In Canada we've lost most of our inter-city, inter-province bus service - it's all just disappeared. That leaves just flying or train.
sorry you had a bad experience. it's totally understandable that you got angry and frustrated. don't beat yourself up. there's probably other things in your life that's stressing you out. hope they all work out nicely for you!
Greyhound has bad customer service, employees are unprofessional, buses are late, losing luggage, I had a bad experience with Greyhound, sitting on a bus for hours, changing buses, I rather take Amtrak
I took a trip earlier this year on Greyhound....IT WILL BE MY LAST!!! There was a lay over that was supposed to last about an hour...it was over 6 hours, because they couldn't get any drivers to come in to work!!! People were sitting on the floor, some elderly people were lying on the floor to sleep! They offered no apology, gave no vouchers for food (which they could've done), and gave no explanations as to how much longer we would be stranded! Greyhound USED TO BE a reliable mode of transportation, but those days are Long Gone!!!!! BTW the service dog barking to express his disapproval of changing buses was hilarious!!!😂
I did the "minor circle" on Amtrak. LOVED it. from Chi to Sacramento to Seattle to Chi. California Zephyr to Coast Starlight to Empire Builder.... fabulous trip. and the vacation was for the journey, not the destination. invested in a roomette and was treated to first class service from the time I walked into Union Station. I've ridden Greyhound for years and I had good experiences, but there were some serious issues. It needs to improve its customer service, especially the drivers. I'm glad to see you making a firm point about them. Also, over the last year or so, I've pointed my friends and FB readers to your videos for information. I think you are right about spreading your wings. Many of your videos as greyhound guru did sound like an advocate and not a reviewer or critic...and that is what folks need - a balanced critic for making frugal travel choices. I personally detest air-travel. I hate the restrictions, nasty TSA bullying, cramped seating...especially since when I first began traveling it was a pleasure (1975) with food and drink and comfortable seating in coach. Thank you ever so much. If you ever get the chance, do an Amtrak "minor circle" trip, or the major circle. It is feasible if you alternate between coach and first class (any sleeping accommodation, 3 meals included). The folks are truly wonderful, the food is good to very good (but costly if you go coach, so don't for get snacks.) I look forward to viewing your Amtrak video. Like you I've always been full of wander-lust making my way through Vagabondia, and almost always with an eye on frugality.
Excited to see other travel videos that don't include greyhound. I take greyhound sometimes because I have to, but I don't like it. Definitely looking forward to your Amtrak video, I adore traveling by Amtrak!
Thank you. It's crazy for me to hear that someone is looking forward to one of my videos lol but it definitely keeps me motivated. I appreciate the kind words!
I'm on the Greyhound right now. Originally was supposed to take Amtrak from Chicago to Salt Lake City. With all the trail cancelations, I needed an alternative. I'm only about 12 hours in to a 3+ day trip and I'm ready to get a room in Dallas for the night and then fly back the next day. I was hoping to enjoy the experience more but it's turning out to be harder than I expected. Constant delays and setbacks, which just keep adding up the more changeovers you have.
Don't fret. Greyhound breaks everybody. Greyhound has 2 uses: Moving homeless people from one city to another, and the transportation choice of drug mules. It would be more efficient and possibly more enjoyable to ride an actual greyhound dog from Florida to Vegas than to ride a Greyhound bus.
Just had to take a bus from Houston to Dallas Ft Worth attempting to make it to OKC. They had the rudest and nastiest employees I have experienced in my life. Asking a simple question gets you snapped at or being told to sit down and wait. Customer service counters in the middle of the day unstaffed. Nasty bathrooms. Dude threatening others on the bus right before the bus left and the driver warned the white victim that she wouldn't do nuffin if the guy jumped on him. One would think a violent nut job would have been tossed off the bus. Last leg was canceled with zero warning and no one at the station knew anything other than the bus was canceled. Finished the trip on Amtrak.
Greyhound for the few times, I've taken it has provided me mixed emotions. One summer, I took them from Milwaukee to the Twin Cities, that trip was pretty good. The primary thing that bothered me was when the bathroom on board was nailed shut. Then when you have a quick break to go in McDonald's, I was always paranoid that the driver would leave without me. Then another time, I took the greyhound bus from Milwaukee to Madison to visit a friend. That trip bothered me because I got dropped off on the outskirts of Madison so I got stuck paying for a cab. Then another summer, I took greyhound from New York City to Washington DC that trip was pretty good. However, everything went down from there. Around Spring of 2014, I took a greyhound from Washington DC to Baltimore. The trip there wasn't bad but coming back I was upset. I went to the station in Baltimore, my bus didn't show up and was told that I missed the bus. Then while they rebook me, the bus finally shows up like an hour late. The bus driver while driving to Washington DC has never been to the city before. He doesn't know where he's going as they don't have a GPS. One of the passengers the whole way there had to tell the driver in where to drive and how to get to Washington DC from Baltimore, Maryland. Then before the bus arrived at union station, it went in the wrong direction and went up some curbs on the road. I remember I called Greyhound and complained about that trip but no one called me back. Instead, I got a frequent travel card for Greyhound because I made a few trips with them in the past year. Long story short, I should have took the Marc Train because it's more reliable and cheaper than greyhound. Perhaps I was a bit addicted to their road rewards program as I was trying to score a free round trip ticket as I think you can get one after like 10 or 15 one way trips. Another time, I think it was in 2015, where I planned to take greyhound from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eau Claire for a conference. I went ahead and bought a refundable ticket. I then find out that my Dad was able to take me so I call them to request a refund on my ticket. I was told that I had to come down to the station in Milwaukee to get my refund despite purchasing my ticket online. I was quite upset because how hard is it to refund a ticket online, especially when I purchased it by using a credit card. Then I show up to the station and they didn't want to initially refund me as they assumed that I bought a non-refundable ticket. It was not fun. Greyhound you hope to have a good experience as it's always been hit or miss the few times I've taken it. The better experiences I've had with greyhound is when it's an overnight trip as less can go wrong. If I travel with greyhound during the day, more can go wrong. Often, I prefer taking the bus over a train when it's cheaper with less stops. Also busses can go more places than trains. But with my experience with greyhound, I generally prefer to avoid them. In bigger cities where there's more competitors, I prefer traveling with another bus company unless greyhound is the only provider. For instance, in Wisconsin, popular routes from Milwaukee to Madison or in between you can take Badger Bus. At least Badger Bus dropped me off directly downtown Madison and their seats are more comfortable. From Milwaukee to Chicago you can take mega bus or Amtrak. Washington DC, I can take the Marc Train, I can take Best Bus etc. I've taken Best Bus out twice from Washington DC to get to the beach, very good experience and they include bottled water.
@corey Babcock I actually worked in Rockville, Maryland for a few months when I had an internship back in summer of 2012. I also went to graduate school on weekends at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I personally liked both areas better than I do for Milwaukee, WI. But my family is from and lives in Milwaukee. When I lived out in the Washington D.C. area I really started to miss my family. Often I felt pretty lonely. The city of D.C and the outskirts was a perfect size for me and I liked the amenities that it had to offer. One, it's big but not like New York and for most major places you could take the metro to get around in a reasonable amount of time versus having to rely on others to drive me (as I don't drive). Meanwhile, another thing that kept bringing me back to Wisconsin was cost. For what I wanted out of Washington D.C., the cost of living there I felt was too high. So now when I crave the taste of Washington D.C., I try to visit my friend at least every other year on a holiday weekend. That way I'm not having to spend money on room and board. As for Appleton, I've looked for jobs out there in my field as the quality of life living out there would be better for me but unfortunately there's more job opportunities in Milwaukee, especially when I want to remain working for the federal government. Maybe eventually once Covid is over, it might be official or changed that then I'd only have to physically come into the office maybe one or two days a week. Then if I wanted to, something like this would allow me to explore moving further outside of the city where a 1 hour commute or so wouldn't be as bad especially if I were carpooling.
I feel you dude. I lived in a rural Alaskan village for several years and the only transportation in or out was by tiny plane- AND only 1 airline. That airline stucknit to us royally: not showing up, regular delays with "dont know, call back in an hour", lost luggage, and employees stealing shipped items. Your greyhound experience sounds similar.
I ain't surprised. First time I tried it, got there 10 min before departure and bus wasn't there. Rescheduled, and the bus didn't even arrive at my location. I waited until 7:30, which is 2 hours past my departure time. Needless to say, I got a refund and never used greyhound ever again.
You were lucky to get a refund. We had a ticket for a bus in Ogden Utah, about 10pm. It didn't show. The customer lines were not manned. The computer showed a breakdown in Casper. About 2am, the bus just disappeared. When Customer service opened about 5am we were told the route was cancelled for the day and we would have to wait until 10pm again. We told them that would not fit our schedule, cancel and refund our tickets. They did not refund. We called every 2 weeks for 6 months and never got a refund. We had our credit card reverse the charge.
Okay I seen your videos and they are great to learn anything you want to know this is my problem I am going home to Buffalo NY form Winston Salem the price online was 76 dollars cheapest no return ticket then the next 155 returnable and 270 all tickets were posted round so I called greyhound they said the 76 cost was one way so why is it posted online as round trip
Greyhound is taking on the same attitude that the airlines have taken (well frankly many businesses that serve people). That is the, we don't need you, you need us , mentality. We need to put our money where our mouth is (like you have) and let them go the out of business or start treating customers like customers.
I just don't think enough people could ever band together to hurt Greyhound by not riding since for a lot of people the bus is their only option. Plus it's so cheap...
Have you been to Seattle? They have a monorail too, plus the Space Needle. Take the elevator up to the restaurant, you can go up on the observation area above the restaurant.
I just wanted to say thank you for being done with Greyhound. Me too! I was going from Tacoma, WA to Vallejo, CA. All went well EXCEPT they missed my stop. Ye, they drove right by Vallejo and went to Oakland. After 24 hours on the bus, I had to wait 3 hours for the next bus, and 2 more hours until arrival in Vallejo. Still pissed!
@@DrewMIATL They really needed to step up there game. Bad drivers, bad customer service, sometimes no customer service. Late buses, no.bus, delays, lost luggage, refusing to stop for designated rest stops. Prices kept going up and service was only getting worse. That's what I experienced up here in Canada anyway and I heard similar complaints in the states. Then we got low coast air lines in the early 2000's and they were on there way out
I had two very uncomfortable experiences on Greyhound. One when I was on my 8th grade trip to Washington DC. They bus driver yelled and screamed at us the entire time and then pulled the bus over and started running down the highway and cried. One of the teachers had to calm her down. Once we got to a stop, I think someone must have called the company and she was turned into Miss Sunshine. The other was a driver who greeted the passengers by saying "if you think you are going to assault me I'll drop kick you...it will hurt...and I have an escape hatch!". As soon as we were about to get off the highway to get to the station she pulled the bus over, sniffed every passenger....then locked us all in and left the bus. After an uncomfortable few minutes she got back on and said "oh I thought I smelled burning plastic". We were less than 2 minutes from the station. I expected crazy passengers...but crazy drivers? No more Greyhound for me.
Lol, that’s crazy! If she smelled burning plastic and she locked up the bus with you all in it, that was very wrong. She should have called all her passengers to get off and, think of theirs and your safety. She definitely should have been reported for that and, she should have been fired immediately.
To be honest it's part of the game. I only use Greyhounds for short trips 3-6 hours tops. Any other time I usually fly. But with flying you have the same issues. I can speak of several occasions where my plane was delay beyond a hour. One time a flight was delayed so long they ended up canceling it. They didn't tell me nothing until I finally ask. At that point they was transferring ppl to another plane and luckily I got the last seat.
I work for a regional carrier that is attached to greyhound. Weather greyhound or my company, they don't give a shit. For me, I can get on or off anywhere but they completely fuck passengers. Problem is, no one complains enough. It's all bullshit
If I don't drive most often take Amtrak I've only ridden Greyhound once recently to Georgia to visit my sister and I wrote it from Charleston to Georgia and and back the reason why I didn't take Amtrak at that time because the tickets were much more expensive that I could afford at the time but again anytime I do travel without driving I don't fight as much I normally take Amtrak
Frugal Travel Guru greyhound sucks. I will take a plane to Buffalo next time. I don't know why they delayed me as a paying customer for 2 hrs in NYC. We were suppose to leave at 12:35 am today. All of a sudden we left NYC at 2:30am. What the hell?
It's nice that you didn't give up on making videos. I bet it was gonna be costly had you went with your plans to travel constantly for video. It is good that you are expanding to other cheap ways to travel. My boyfriend and I are college students and would like to travel on the cheap while building our careers and having kids. I am learning a tone from you. Basically don't stop traveling and making videos.
I plan on keeping going with the budget travel videos. Maybe the bad experience with Greyhound was a good thing since now it's making me expand my horizons lol.
Hey man, I recently made trip on this bus for two nights on different bus connections from different bus stops. Before starting my trip I watched couple of your videos and I was so scared before starting my trip. I will personally and strongly suggest you to stop making people scared by giving them your so called bad experience, everyday and every personality is different! Along with that main thing is how an individual person looks at the things and situations. My trip with grey haund was fantastic, all the buses were on time and clean(including bathrooms). Drivers were very skillful and you won’t feel anything when they are driving on road. Plenty of comfort and plenty of information they shared with passengers on mic while driving. One driver even sang song for passengers and everyone was like “once more once more !” I will strongly recommend people to jump on these buses and enjoy ride like me. People need to stop spreading negativity. Don’t worry these video series are not going to help you.
Love your postings! Loaded with lots of great info! Use your info on the bus trips here in 🇪🇨 Ecuador. It's not all the same, but many times it's very close. Thanks.
The Atlanta greyhound station is messed up. One guy got muggedand came back bleeding. I know it isnt the staffs fault because they guy left the premises and went a block over but man that area is a hub for crime
Yeah that station is sketch af. I try to avoid that station whenever I can and if I do go there I never leave the station! I know a guy who got robber there too.
My son is having a horrible experience on Greyhound right now..2 of 4 buses have broke down adding to what is already a 48 hr. trip... Funny you mentioned Fort Worth because that's where he was stuck at
40 years ago every small town was serviced by greyhound or trailways; now hardly any at all. What happened? Does everyone have a car now, or has air travel replace the bus? I was shocked when I saw the lack of terminals nowadays.
As a Retire coach driver From a company out of Philadelphia Normally during the Christmas rush greyhound would Contract us to Do some of their runs And of course our coaches were I'll just wear much newer and cleaner. It threw some of the passengers off whenWe pulled into a greyhound station. They would assign us to go one place and then add Other cities. It was such a nerve racking job, The greyhound connections were always A 1/2 an hour to an hour late. Which may you late. So our company decided not to help out Is greyhound again. Man was I glad.
The dog was like, "Let's go, dog." And I grin and completely understand this gentleman's perspective and it does sound like the driver was dealing with a personal issue and wanted a little more time to chat about it. But who knows and it'd be interesting to know if Greyhound reached out with an explanation. And over the years I've taken just over ten big rides on Greyhound and some were better than others but all in all, each was its own adventure and you just have to be attentive and watchful to make the most of it.
Greyhound truly is the type of company that takes your money and royally does you wrong. I have ridden them 30+ times in the past 4 years. My most recent one being Houston to Los Angeles round trip on DEC 2019. They never compensate you if things go wrong, you have to call their customer service number to try to plea your case. Most of their seats are falling apart, fights, power tripping employees, and even arrests. Even their newer Prevost bus fleet have seats with tattered armrests and cushion falling off the seat support. The worst thing is, as your video described, their drivers abuse their authority. If you irritate them in the slightest, they might kick you off, there is no sense of urgency during delays as if people don't have connections. Some of them insulted passengers over the intercom, and they even lost my baggage. When I called the stations, no one answers or they act clueless. And although their call center attendants (who are clearly outsourced to the Philippines) can be pretty sweet, their ability to resolve issues is very limited. The only truly truly humane and reasonable experience I had with them was with their subsidy, VTC Valley Transit Company, when I rode with them down to the Rio Grande Valley, those employees are much nicer. But even most of those Van Hool buses are in horrible condition as well. I will definitely try to stick more to Megabus or Flixbus, both of which have proven to me decent. I did try to be loyal to Greyhound due to their Road Rewards program but at this point, its not worth it. They are rarely ever the chepest option on routes competing with Megabus or Flixbus Of course there are a few amazing drivers who prove that even when working with difficult passengers, they do not let it ruin their good character. But at the end of the day, it is simply not worth it anymore.
My husband and I were looking into taking a trip to TN . The woman on the line told us that you pay extra the the use of the toilet! IS this true ? I never heard of this.
thank you for the video, I see you may have a name Tim, may I say you make it an art of travel, as some do shows on other things and there journey to show others it is safe, and not always the t.v. news like we see, keep up the good work.
I've probably ridden with Greyhound a 100 times with a 1000 complaints. The only reason I put up with them was for Greyhound Road Rewards. I just learned that is no longer a thing. So adios Greyhound. I hope Flix is even a fraction better. I've missed several connecting rides with having to sit in their filthy stations for hours. Laughing at the way they claim to be clean during COVID. You are right they don't give a damn about their customers and have no explanation for their service.
i see and hear so many greyhound horror stories like this. im sad becuz greyhound is the only option i have that goes from west coast to texas where i need to go ;(
Used to love traveling on those classic MCI buses in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid but as I got older the excitement waned and I started noticing the filth, and low class service. I took my last ride in 1995 from Charlotte to NYC round trip. Change the name to the Guru Traveler.
i took it, had a dude swinging the guard poles at the station and police and ambulance had to come, dude smoking meth in the station, delays, no bathrooms in the stations, homeless kid who wouldn’t stop mouthing incoherent noises, tweakers, people acting very strange and some dude asking people to play and talk beef on their phone.
Suggestion tell the bus company you are available to solve the problems and work as a publication relations person for them. Good luck Evans w robinson
Gee, I JUST started watching your channel (a couple of videos ago) and was looking forward to doing a lot of catching up. I should have known the above result would eventually happen. Ride GH long and frequent enough you will reach a breaking point. I haven't given up entirely though. I will never use them east of the Mississippi. Nashville and much of the east is a frenzied cattle and zombie call. I limit my trips to less than a day. I could go longer if no transfer takes place. I do take Amtrak trains and buses, but one option you may be overlooking is rental cars. If you're on an adventure only trip you can do your own timing, as well as going to places inaccessible by bus or rail. You can even "boondock" (sleep in the car) in a pinch on the highway if you have to avoid a high hotel bill. Anyway I'll still check out your other videos anyway.
The last time I took Greyhound my fellow passengers and I had to take a collection to pay a toll on the New York Thruway.
@@tluns810 Sadly yes. And that was actually not the worse part of that trip either.
WTH that sounds like something Spirit Airlines would do
He said the service dog even said let’s get home 💀🤣

Some of them don’t. Jus a whole different set up then what it used to be. Closing all the bus stations, leaving people stranded at gas stations because greyhound to sorry to release the original stations they had. Knoxville tn and other places. Greyhound Never used to be that way. Dam a gas station get bus stations like the past. Just a hot mess. Probably not American owned I wouldn’t be surprised
@@ericmcbroom7825 it is american
They are trying run thr system out Dallas. No local management. This will not work.
This is great! Gave me a smile. Ty
Im going on the greyhound
He quickly walked past me and said, "as long as it takes me to do my paperwork."
I went to the bathroom and was in there maybe 15 minutes. I came out and the bus was gone. 😡
I remember that helpless, empty feeling of seeing nothing but sunlight where this huge bus used to be.
And they don't seem to get into any trouble.
sorry that happen worst day. when on a bus don't eat just drink so don't get in rr to long
What happened to the toilet on the bus bro
Amtrak is great
Excel On Fire
Who takes 15 minutes to go?
The dog barked "arf" LOL
no matter what you do, im gonna watch. im a big fan, and you have a great personality.
Thank you! That means alot to me. :) I'm going to try and keep providing good content, even if it isn't all about Greyhound.
Moral of the story; forget the bus, take the train
Let us all support Amtrak .
Greyhound has been around for over 100 years and you’d expect them to be like the number one bus company America
Tim.......please continue to provide budget based travel trips. The information that you provide is very helpful.😊
I'm going to keep making videos. Just going to expand beyond Greyhound.

Also on hotels as well.
Please make a video.
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkjjjkkkkkkkkkkkjjkkkkjkkkkkkkkjjjjjkkjkjkjjjkj(((73asseea7733
guy this doesn't make any sense. They would be sued for millions if they knowingly put a bus full of people on the road that was unsafe to drive, so what on earth kind of info does the driver need to get on the downlow? come on....
I love your sense of humor. You slip some funny jokes into every video and have me cracking up every time.
Oh man I just came to your channel and started subbing. Excellent content. I come from the heyday of Greyhound bus service and it's sad to see how it's declined. In Canada we've lost most of our inter-city, inter-province bus service - it's all just disappeared. That leaves just flying or train.
I just started watching these after my long Nj to Arizona and back trip. The patience you have to do this all the time is amazing.
Hahahaha, so even the service dog agreed that no issues were present with the bus you were riding, you made my day brother
sorry you had a bad experience. it's totally understandable that you got angry and frustrated. don't beat yourself up. there's probably other things in your life that's stressing you out. hope they all work out nicely for you!
The folks are truly wonderful, the food is good to very good (but costly if you go coach, so don't for get snacks.)
I look forward to viewing your Amtrak video.
Amtrak is the only way to fly .
Amtrak is my favorite way to travel.
Would love to see more of your travel vlogs and where you are visiting and tips and tricks other than just transportation
I want to expand into all that in the future. I've got to get better at vlogging in public lol
Hysterical!
I found your channel this week. You’re so funny and entertaining along with informative. Great work. I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
budget traveling with Tim or travelin with Tim sounds good too
Hey beautiful
WHATS THE MEGA BUS........ IS IT CHEAPER IN PRICE OR MORE LAID BACK LIKE THE CHAIR LAYS BACK GOING DOWN THE RDS.,....?????
What was the name of the village.
I'd be interested in budget travel trip tip suggestions from you, including budget hotels and hostels.
I want to stay in some hostels and review them. Thats on my list
Frugal Travel Guru Thank you that would be nice.
As a former driver he doesn't want to go you don't want to go with him. Count your blessings he knew his limitations.
Greyhound does not have passengers , it has victims.
Yep. They lost so much business in Canada they ended up going out of business.
They deserve it
@@DrewMIATL They really needed to step up there game. Then we got low coast air lines in the early 2000's and they were on there way out
DISGUSTANG!!!!!
If she is screaming and crying obviously the problem was you.
It happens alot less frequently on planes though lol
@@fundyourlifestyle About a good one third of my flights been delayed. Like I said it's part of the game. I always leave myself some time cushion.
That one driver found out Jody was bangin' his woman and he needed to get home ASAP!!!
Long bus rides can get rough for example that long bus ride from New York to Atlanta Georgia which can take anywhere between 18 hours to over one day.
"NotTheGreyhoundGuru"
LOL!!!
I work for a regional carrier that is attached to greyhound. Weather greyhound or my company, they don't give a shit. For me, I can get on or off anywhere but they completely fuck passengers. Problem is, no one complains enough. It's all bullshit
I've quit riding Greyhound 20 times.
So out of the 20 times, when did you really quit? #logic
@@KalBearMusic thats the joke.
@@KalBearMusic greyhound is actually not that bad
You are very articulate..a good speaker!
You seem to come to Tallahassee a lot! I have family there. What do you think of the town?
If I don't drive most often take Amtrak I've only ridden Greyhound once recently to Georgia to visit my sister and I wrote it from Charleston to Georgia and and back the reason why I didn't take Amtrak at that time because the tickets were much more expensive that I could afford at the time but again anytime I do travel without driving I don't fight as much I normally take Amtrak
Sounds like the driver made excuses. I hope everyone wrote letters to the head office to have the driver fired
The Frugal Travel Channel?
I like that!
I think it shows a lot of courage and knowledge of self to know when to quit. Usually there are better things waiting for you.
One driver even sang song for passengers and everyone was like “once more once more !”
I will strongly recommend people to jump on these buses and enjoy ride like me. People need to stop spreading negativity. Don’t worry these video series are not going to help you.
you are a brave and determined young man. tusen.
I'll ride Greyhound for short haul trips when it's not practical to drive/fly but not long haul
Thomas House That’s exactly what I do with them.
A new name for your channel could be: Tim's travels
If Greyhound has any brains they'll find a way to right their wrongs with you,but I wouldn't hold my breath!

Did you ever consider reviewing Brightline?
My son is having a horrible experience on Greyhound right now..2 of 4 buses have broke down adding to what is already a 48 hr. trip... Funny you mentioned Fort Worth because that's where he was stuck at
I live in Tallahassee and I'm 99.99% sure I know which motel you were staying at. It's notorious for bad lighting.
So what were your suspensions, about the driver & bus?
Coast to Coast Guru , Greyhound has always been a trip , Maybe if we bring back TrailWays
40 years ago every small town was serviced by greyhound or trailways; now hardly any at all. What happened? Does everyone have a car now, or has air travel replace the bus? I was shocked when I saw the lack of terminals nowadays.
To go to Las Vegas,NV on the Amtrak you have to choose the McCarran Airport destination.
I'm looking at Greyhound for a trip to Orlando. Would like to hear your opinion of Megabus as I just discovered it's an option.
I just took my first Megabus trip from Orlando. I really enjoyed it. Better than the same trip on Greyhound and a little but cheaper.
It's as if the government was running the company
❤😂 Show us a video of you driving the work dump truck! Love your travel videos!
Is the Amtrak train more expensive and how much more than the Greyhound?
Grayhound is cheaper
Something I've never said , I'm in a cheap hotel room. I've had some lower priced hotels but they were never cheap , most hotels cost $10 just in tax.
Love the vids man! I'm about to take my first trip on the greyhound Monday. Wish me luck.
Good luck!
You have so much great information to share I'm glad you have deiced to expand outside of the greyhound label. Keep it up! :)
The Best Greyhound Station I've been @ was Chattanooga, Tenn a smaller Depot. .✅ it was clean & stocked...
They are rarely ever the chepest option on routes competing with Megabus or Flixbus
Of course there are a few amazing drivers who prove that even when working with difficult passengers, they do not let it ruin their good character. But at the end of the day, it is simply not worth it anymore.
Ditch the name honestly, what about @itstraveltim
It's ditched, just gotta find a new one lol. Kinda don't want to use my name in the new one though. Not sure why, just don't.

I live in Amarillo. We have an airport and all that, it has around 200,000 people. It ain’t like Fort Worth, but it ain’t that bad.
I took a Greyhound bus once, but they made me put it back!
thank you for the video, I see you may have a name Tim, may I say you make it an art of travel, as some do shows on other things and there journey to show others it is safe, and not always the t.v. news like we see, keep up the good work.
You are right they don't give a damn about their customers and have no explanation for their service.
i got stuck from amarillo to bismark a3 day turnd in to a week
i see and hear so many greyhound horror stories like this. im sad becuz greyhound is the only option i have that goes from west coast to texas where i need to go ;(
Used to love traveling on those classic MCI buses in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid but as I got older the excitement waned and I started noticing the filth, and low class service.
I took my last ride in 1995 from Charlotte to NYC round trip.
Change the name to the Guru Traveler.
I really enjoy your reviews so keep up the good work. But please, slow down on the hand clapping
I just said the same thing, but my language was more ‘colourful’ and a bit more Anglo-Saxon.
i took it, had a dude swinging the guard poles at the station and police and ambulance had to come, dude smoking meth in the station, delays, no bathrooms in the stations, homeless kid who wouldn’t stop mouthing incoherent noises, tweakers, people acting very strange and some dude asking people to play and talk beef on their phone.
Of all the buses that greyhound owns in its fleet, which one is your favorite and why?
Lol your laugh sounds like an electric grill starter
