This is my favorite Bond movie, and the part that sticks out for me the most is when the Russian reports to Kleb and the camera pans to show Red Grant on the edge of the frame, shadowing her.

The Standout Sequence in this Movie is the Fight onboard the Train between Bond and Red Grant. It was So Violent that it was Cut when From Russia With Love was shown on Network Television.
A triumph of screenwriting, direction, and casting that holds up incredibly well. The fight on the Orient Express chills your blood even today. Sean Connery was great in “Dr No,” but is even better here! “From Russia With Love” remained the favourite of both Connery and co-producer Harry Saltzman. One of the best espionage thrillers of all time!
This could've been the first Bond film I would've seen at the movies. But the title seemed boring to me (well, I was only 13 years old and the family never saw Dr No when first out!!!) But the weekend it was playing at Bankstown (NSW, Aust) I saw a trailer on tv (helicopter chasing 007) and I thought, I should've gone to see it at the 4pm session on Saturday!!!! Didn't have a chance (no movies on Sunday then), so when Goldfinger came out, I was ready willing and able. That was the first Bond film for me.....and my name is Bond too.... often there after, I wished my parents had called me, James, a very common name... oh, well.... And God knows, how many times I have seen all the Bond films now... including DVD and now Blue Ray... projected with cinema quality onto an 8ft wide movie screen via a Benq video projector...... Yes, the affendios call this the best, but my personal favourite is On Her Majesty's Secret Service... there is just something about that movie......
time to bust out the box set. I love this movie. My buddy Jacob Patterson did a pair of custom Nike dunks based on the From Russia With Love poster art.

If the only two Bond movies ever made had been FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and THUNDERBALL, I still would have been happy.

One scene I'll never forget was the catfight where a dispute over a man was settled in the "gypsy way".
The finest ensemble of villains in a Bond movie by far. Kronsteen alone is one of most memorable Bond villains.

Fascinating hearing about all the problems with the film. Never one of my fave Bond films, it's still interesting and worth seeing again.
Top 5 Bond's easily. And on a more objective scale, it IS the most slick and efficient of the lot from a storytelling perspective.
