Probably because somebody might’ve got hurt or they couldn’t get Insurance . It’s too dangerous. You would think they would figure that out before they built it.
Good morning, Doug! I'm going to drive down to Port Canaveral in a few weeks to see Utopia of the Seas in person. I wonder what happened with Park 19 aboard Sun Princess? "Permanently closed" has echoes of RCCL closing the Skypad on their ships due to an injury.
There was a medical emergency on board the Carnival Jubilee during my 7 Day cruise last week on day 3 of my cruise. We had to make an emergency stop to Cozumel. After that the captain hauled ass on the the Gulf to Honduras (about 24 kts) We made it on time though. I hope that person is alive and well.
Good morning Yuck delays leaving or arriving on your cruise can cause lots of headaches.that be cool to see from Port C.Ty for your updates .It's nice to go away but nice to get home. Have a wonderful Monday😊
They say ICON comes in at 248,663 gross tonnage, I just wonder if STAR of the Seas will actually reach the 250k mark, even though they said she won't be any bigger than ICON, just more or less a carbon copy? They all vary a little bit regardless if they are sister ships. Exciting times for Port Canaveral!.
Seems cruiselines have let their passengers down by retaining older ships or failing to put money in necessary maintenance. If so, step back and build to suit what the majority of cruisers want and cease building the huge, ugly troop carriers.
I am not surprise about princess The cruise line is trying to make the cruise line more towards younger crowd and it’s not working Princess is not carnival
Well.... technically it is. 😁 I get your point though. I've done ropes courses on MSC, Norwegian and Carnival. But it's not something I'd expect to see on Princess, HAL or Cunard. Different crowd. Probably wasn't getting used at all. They'd be better off taking it down and replacing it with a pickle ball court.
You want a ''' Cruise Ship '' Build one , You want a '''Disney Land ''Build One ... But just seems as way to much and I believe that Ship will be back in Drydock soon....Planning Your next get away let ?? Good am Doug.
I just finished a podcast on Spotify called Cruise Ship Wars (on Business Wars.) It’s a detailed history of the cruise ship industry from the beginning until now. Fascinating. Spotify or Wondery. It’s a must for cruisers
Good morning Doug! Was on the NCL Jade 3 weeks ago. Glad it held up while I was on it. Thanks for the updates and have a great Monday.
Thanks, you too!
Really curious on the reason for closing that activity space on the Sun Princess. Especially since the ship is only a few months old.
It's strange they closed the new activity area on the Sun Princess that never opened for guests.
Probably because somebody might’ve got hurt or they couldn’t get Insurance . It’s too dangerous. You would think they would figure that out before they built it.
@jellen7332 They never opened it for the public
??? Sad
Exactly to the point, can't ask for anything more...Kudos👍🏻
Kudos to you! 21 days on the road and you still delivered your daily cruise news 👏Much appreciated!
I appreciate you.
Welcome back!!! Happy Monday!! Thanks for sharing 🛳️🛳️
Thanks for watching.
Welcome home Doug. Very curious as to what happened on the Sun Princess to force the decision to permanently close the adventure park.
That’s the big mystery. Trying to figure out.

So they canceled all the elevated attractions. I’m no expert, but I’m going with WIND. 🤷♀️

Mornin' Doug! Welcome home! Having a cruise cut short a day would be drag. I hope NCL will do more than just pay hotel fees.
They did some prorating, OBC and a couple other things it looks like.
