I remember when playing through Kengo 2 fully, the final boss could be made selectable both for story and for versus, in the latter having both available loadouts for him, and that was the coolest thing ever. Really wish that same thing could have be done in this game.
As NOT mentioned earlier... Actually *_HOW_* to play as this character. Been a very LONG time, but I recall when I first made it to him (after not playing like a mad person and showing some decorum with a sword) and his sword freaked me out! I ran and ran, but Red Shadow wasn't moving fast enough against the wind-blowing stage and he struck me in the back. The End.
According to a comment on Mad Mans Café (which I am not a member of) Kindachi is "the spirit of Akino Jûrôta, contained in the Yûgiri". I have no idea how true this is, because I have yet to find official statements that this is true. I do not own Bushido Blade 2 (which Kindachi doesn't appear in anyway) so I don't know if he is mentioned, and as you know he is not properly playable, so I have no idea of his backstory. At least with Hongou, you can make a guess as to why he was there, due to him actually being in Bushido Blade 2 (he was most likely making an early attempt to reclaim the Yûgiri, but failed).
I know I'm two years late, but the idea is it's supposed to be relatively realistic - I mean, you can't cut of heads or limbs or anything, but the idea is if a character is sliced or stabbed in a place that would kill a person in real life, they die.

Tsubame
