I can't seem to shake the feeling that Dave Chappelle doesn't even realize how much the world truly loves him. I feel like he thinks fans just see him as any other celebrity. Dave is literally the only comedian that can bring people together, make light out negativity, and have people feeling better about life. His level of seriousness, humor, and humility in comedy is perfect. We love you Dave! Never Change!
Theo It might be a confidence thing...also when you see people write that you're a clone or not funny anymore it might as a comedian wear on your spirit.
Theo I think he has a healthy balance and understanding of the situation. People are people. I don't think that he forgot that everyone called him a crackhead when he went to Africa, at the same time, it doesn't seem like he holds it over people's heads.
I love Chappelle. My brother and I used to watch Chappelle's show and cry with laughter. He introduced me to Chappelle. When my brother passed when I was 14, watching things like that made me feel better. Gave me a way to laugh and think about good times.
I genuinely think Dave appreciated that comment. When you have to step back from success for your own mental health you have to get to second guessing yourself.
Agree. I respect kimmel for having this perspective on him. He just left the world of fame, not dead drowning in drugs for fame, like many other celebs.
I 2nd that, Patrice O'Neal is one of the greatest of all time because of the unique perspectives he brought to the table. Dave Chappelle is still in the same tier. They both sit neatly on the Mt Rushmore of Comedy
Micah Jodhan I actually respected that, sometimes you can tell the interviewer has no clue who they're interviewing and it is awkward but this was great.
Micah Jodhan I most definitely agree; it was like he was in awe of him while still trying to contain his excitement! You can tell he IS A HUGE FAN like the rest of us.

I hope Dave is happy. Just deep down happy. I don't wish anything less for this guy. He has only made me happy. I don't know if others think this or hope others this way. Just be happy guys.
100% always wishing that for all human beings. If we all felt this way there wouldnt be so much pain in this world. Unfortunately we all do not. As long as i am here i will love everyone in spite of their differences and when i see my fellow man down further than i am i will do what i can to help. Ive spent my life this way its how God made my heart. It did not always work but for the times it did it was glorious. I love to see people smile and i cry when they cry. Could never help any of that and even in spite of some very dark people my heart still feels the same and will never falter. Its how my heart has always beaten. Everyone be happy. Find your bliss.

I’m new to the comic scene in the US but I can tell that Dave’s intellectual prowess is extraordinary. Possibly one of the most intelligent person in show business.
The best part about these specials is there's no virtue signaling or political party pandering. Instead of leaning right or left he slices right down the middle on social commentary and it's so refreshing.
I've watched the one where he talks about meeting OJ. So funny. A lot of times these things disappoint, like the Amy Schumer special. Dave is one of a kind.
I don't think Dave Chappelle realizes just how funny and influential his show really was! It very quickly became one of the greatest comedy programs of all time and represented and embraced real hip hop. I knew he was great from all the movies he did and previous comedy specials and stand ups, but I think the Chappelle show success happened way to quick for him to analyze and truly feel the epicness of what he created. Thank you Dave. You are truly one of the GOAT's!! Top 3
Jimmy Kimmel does such an awesome job in interviewing here! The approach, questions, vibe and flow keep the entertainment levels cruising on a high level. Dave Chappelle does a great job in jiving with it in a way that is just pure class.
