Great video, thank you. I spent almost 7 hours sitting in the airport in Tacloban because of a slight miscalculation by my Filipina on her return flight to Kuwait. What a big beautiful family Arlene has, both of you are truly blessed. Welcome to America Arlene. Moving to another country means you're prepared for changes and ready to assimilate the culture. Weather is a little harsh if you're going to North of the US during winter. There might be some adjustments in terms of food as not all states have many choices for Asian Market. I know you're resilient and would easily adapt to your environment. The most important thing, you're with your husband. Congratulations to both of you.
Reminds me of when I went to get my wife 13 years ago. Very emotional. I send her back home each year for 2 months and it's an emotional departure from me at the airport as well as for her and her family when she leaves to come back. We plan to go back next January to start our house build. My wife and I are both so excited for Arlene. I know the signal in parts of Leyte can be spotty, but we found a very reliable hotspot for her family. She's able to viber video call them every day. It really helps with her homesickness
@@Peter-td3yk Oh puleez, you don’t think I’ve done my homework after 15 years of visiting that part of the world? I see that same comment all the time. I can own the house, have electric and everything in my name, she can and will lease the land to me for 50 years, giving me complete control of the land while I’m alive. Reality
@ I know it happens. There are guys who visit for the first time and fall madly in love with a bar girl from Angeles City and next thing you know he’s buying a farm and building a mansion. In contrast, there are a lot of guys who have been in long lasting, happy marriages who have nothing to worry about. But just in case, there is that lease option. I just don’t get the negativity, for no reason in an otherwise nice thread. That’s all. You have a nice night
I enjoyed watching your vlog from the start of the video up to new upload.. keep posting videos… you both indeed lovely couple. Take care of each other 😌
Just right after we got out of the Airport in Washington I was already shivering 😂, and excited to experience a new environment, now I miss the Sun 🌞 😂
Good luck for you both. Life can be long, have challanges , and anybody develops differently. I do not know how it is in Canada, but here in Switzerland the husband is fully responsible. The women have even chatgroups were they give "advise" to each other. When to have a baby, when to go to a lawyer (after 3 years), which lawyer, what exactly to say to the judge. Divorce will come, she has full residence permit in the western country and you will pay. Here in Switzerland it is around 3.500 CHF/month - for the next 16 years until the kid is out of school. This ruins nearly anybody. She even can have other lovers, does not matter, you pay.
I wish both of you the best of luck but the United States is a tough environment especially Seattle Washington area. You might do better eventually moving to a state that has a climate similar to her province sometime down the road, this way, you can still keep your income going and she won't be in a mostly sunless area. I was married for 18 years after meeting her in Peru. We had 2 kids together and me, self employed. The beginning is always fun and exciting and If I had the chance to do it again, I would have stayed there in her country - culture because once she started mingling with the soccer moms and absorbing their toxic characteristics, watching TV and the messages that are embedded in both the shows and the commercials things started to change and no-one is immune from it. The 1st 5 years were great, the next few..ok but after about year 8, it was 10 years of "I'm not happy", walking on egg shells, arguments over nothing and keeping up with the Jones. We all say, "it won't happen with me" or "I'm not like that" but the majority of us that did it prove otherwise. I guess my message would be to both of you is to not become Americanized and not get complacent. If you say, the plan is to move back to the Philippines in 5 years, stick to the plan. Once again, good luck guys!
It comes down to who you married. Is she educated (college degreed) does she have a real career here in america. How was she raised? America is opportunities that are like no where else. So if you went to peru you also would change to the culture there or fail. 18 year now my asawa she works makes her own monies is humble uses parts of american culture she wants, like driving on empty roads, safety, and the ability to make good monies .. Her working gives her independence.
As soon as that first plane flight took off I started to cry because my Filipina and I have been waiting for longer than 5 years for her visa to be approved to come Downunder!.....but then came the "mile high" comment 🤣🤣🤣
Did you guys do a K1 Visa or a spousal Visa? I noticed you got married in the Philippines. I'm asking because my wife and I got married in the Philippines and was wondering how you did it.
@brandonandarlene Thanks for the clarity. I was thrown off when it said K1 as I thought you guys were married in the Philippines. Excellent approach. Absolutely no doubt you guys will celebrate silver and golden anniversary. You both made wise choices grasshopper. Congratulations. One piece of advice on children, ensure Arlene immediately obtain her dual citizenship or still be a Philippine citizen when they are born. If Arlene is only a US when they are born, they are not eligible to become Philippine citizen.
Hey brother , Signed up for the card . Will spend the $2K on it to build up the points . What’s the process for booking the rooms? Direct to Hilton Manila?
Awesome, I'm going to get arlene signed up now that I used my 2 nights. After you meet the requirements, the points will load on your hilton rewards website which you can book direct!

@ anytime. I’m in the process of finishing the k1 visa paperwork and getting ready to propose to my Filipina on my next trip soon. Looking forward to your guys next video content.
Congrats!, advice....soon as her I94 is available...go get her a SS number and a state ID, you can go back to SS and changer her name later. Get the AOS stuff done before her Medical expires :) Mine just got her residency card last week. She had aready got her work permit and a job LOL. She was getting too bored at home...can only clean the house so many times, she loves working now.
@ NP, get her on your health ins too, for proof on the AOS, we had a tough time getting her on bank accounts without an ID...SS was not enough. The ID expires when her 90 days are done. Get her a bank account with a CC or on yours soon and some utilitys otherwise she will not gain any credit scores. Just passing on things I learned on my own LOL...hope it helps
Sorry, I may have missed this in your video, but are you planning on living in the US going forward? K-1 to green card is about two years, and to maintain the green card requires being in the US most of the time.
No, we plan on being here 4 to 5 years. Will apply citizenship after 3 years and avoid the 2 year rule with green card. This is one of the main reason why we decided to go this route. Will allow us to travel whenever wherever without issue in the future.
@@brandonandarlene The TH-cam professional advice givers will always say not to bring your foreign girlfriend to the US, but I have found this not to be true. My Thai wife is doing great here. It took 14 months to get the K-1, then several months after arrival to get her SSN & work permit. She now has a job she likes. I did not know you could apply for citizenship without having a green card first. We are waiting on travel permission (15 months), then green card after two years. We have been told she needs to be here 5 years before being able to apply for citizenship. You are correct, citizenship gives you by far the most foreign living flexibility going forward. Anyway, congrats!
@@BerkshireB Really? I'll have to ask my immigration attorney. A quick Google search looks like it is 3 years after getting a green card, not arriving in US on K-1. Then about 12 months more for naturalization process.
Me id recommend an educated one college etc with a job in manilla. After a while talking to a fence post aint fun. (fillipino taught me that) Imagine college degree works great english wants to work thats a great start. Plus family educated the 3 sisters so the values are there its tough to do so there from a humble family. One a banker, other a doctor, mine is a degreed accountant works in america. Or a fence post, your choice..
@Peter-td3yk no one said "isolate", but she'll use it constantly and it will delay or stop her assimilation. It's probably the biggest reason that successful marriages to filipinas (brought west) fail now more than ever. Nonstop Instagram, Tiktok, Messenger.
@, when my wife first came to the US, she was a bit homesick. I found a pinoy community in my area and she made some new friends. Some were from near her hometown and others knew some of her friends. It was so nice seeing her interact. It made her assimilation easier and comfortable. We were happily married for 36 years. Unfortunately, I lost her to Covid 4 years ago on January 2. I miss her dearly. She was my whole world. I wish the best for both of you. Make and enjoy lots of memories.❤️
Why in the world anyone would want to move to America in these times is beyond me.... sorry, I think this is a huge mistake. You live in a MUCH better part of the world.
Hello you are beyond wrong, the only way you live better in PI is if you are wealthy, same goes for asia as a whole. I know i lived there as an expat in 2 countries, spoiled in high end flats. A free car flat and other perks business class flights. Yea I visited other countries but I went back to my flat in luxury you would not believe. Asia is a tough place. My guess your life is not grand, thats on you. To just run to asia you better have wealth and a permanent income stream. My asawa doesnt want to go back to PI she loves it here in san jose. No bugs, great weather, traffic she can easily drive. Makes over 65 per hour with paid overtime try that in pi never happen. America has great medical pi doesnt. Why Im alive and why she works for medical. As life has taught me wealth makes any place a great place to be. It always behoves one to attain it. America is a great place to live. Id live like a king there but!!!!!! I know what it would really be like. And my asawa is reluctant to go back. I realize america aint so bad as one ages. Remember is a tough place to live. Monies makes it great, poverty there is horrible and unacceptable.. But I would be in the pent house and i know what thats like, been there done that.. Poverty really gets under ones soul. But in doses it can be interesting. Remember it takes 1 year or so to acclimate to a new country to where you accept and thrive. Like a bell shaped curve, some thrive some dont. Only way to know is to do it. Life aint always better in another country. But monies income stream makes it great. Anyone who tells you its not is a lier.
@@Peter-td3yk I have lived outside the US for 28 years on a retired teachers check… not much! But there is not enough money in the world to get me to move back to the USA!!!
@Arleneshortvideos well, we're 20 minutes south of Vancouver Canada, similar weather to Seattle, rain 🤮 and gray winters. Been fairly mild this year. Summer is awesome and the seasonal changes I imagine will be an bit dramatic for you, in a good way during spring. Dont let western culture affect you, its kinda in sad state of debauchery for now, but change may be coming soon. Hopefully you guys go back soon, beautiful home you guys have!
Depends on what part of the Philippines you will be. we have the Philippine Cobra it's one of the venomous snake 🥲 just gotta be careful! this one on the video it's not but it will scare you bcoz it will jump on you😅.
Brandon, How is the weather in Seattle? We are in southern California. Next to burning the wild fires. Ha Ha .. Another family that made to USA from PH is of "Dustin Backpacks". In Oct 2024, they came on K1, got married within 90 days, and now filling up Green Card (CR) paperwork. I think Arlene will need Medical insurance soon. O Man, you can't fall sick in USA unless your pockets are deep and full.
@brandonandarlene not a Karen but I see it everyday dude yes I go the phone twice a year and yes I have a girl there but I see both sides the girl becomes like the American girl and the dude sometimes abuse the girls which I will be you two it's bound to fail sorry the truth hurts

That's amazing, good luck with the house build!
You mean your wifes home, you can own the home she will own the land. reality
Reality
@@gordonb1737 so if you keep seeing it then maybe one should realize its a thing. Ive seen so many insanities in asia having lived there 2 times..
Don’t loose yourself in the west, Remember what you have and what you are working for a comfortable home in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Thanks for watching!
Congrats but she is for a temperature shock when she lands state side safe travels 🎉
Same thing in the US…The Asian women always “westernize” within 3 to 5 years..
Good video loved it
Thank you!
Congratulations.
Thank you!
Bro went and got him a baddie. Treat her right you hit gold with her..good luck
😂 We have one of those little duel cab Suzukis they are great very handy/versatile little cars 😊
We plan on being back in the Philippines permanently in 5 years. Thanks for watching!
Hilak pod kog apil, I know how that feel leaving family behind.
As soon as that first plane flight took off I started to cry because my Filipina and I have been waiting for longer than 5 years for her visa to be approved to come Downunder!.....but then came the "mile high" comment 🤣🤣🤣
It's one of the best moment when you are in a LDR , the long wait is over❤🥹
I couldn't imagine waiting 5 years for the visa, we got really lucky. Approved in 7 months. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Did you guys do a K1 Visa or a spousal Visa? I noticed you got married in the Philippines. I'm asking because my wife and I got married in the Philippines and was wondering how you did it.
K1, we never signed paperwork just had a ceremony.
@@texroy1644wouldn't think that would be a problem

Signed up for the card . Will spend the $2K on it to build up the points . What’s the process for booking the rooms? Direct to Hilton Manila?
Awesome, I'm going to get arlene signed up now that I used my 2 nights. After you meet the requirements, the points will load on your hilton rewards website which you can book direct!

Thank you for your advice!❤
Thanks for the tips, we'll definitely keep that in mind!
@@ericsherman4181 thank you for sharing! That'll definitely help us! ☺️🫰
@@Nordic_SkyCitizenship after 3 years if she arrived on k1.
@@BerkshireB Really? I'll have to ask my immigration attorney. A quick Google search looks like it is 3 years after getting a green card, not arriving in US on K-1. Then about 12 months more for naturalization process.
Brandon where was your family to welcome your new bride merry Christmas 🎅
His parents live a bit far from my husband's place, but we went there to celebrate the new year with them and their friends!🥳
She is so cute
Thank you po!🤭
Me id recommend an educated one college etc with a job in manilla. After a while talking to a fence post aint fun. (fillipino taught me that) Imagine college degree works great english wants to work thats a great start. Plus family educated the 3 sisters so the values are there its tough to do so there from a humble family. One a banker, other a doctor, mine is a degreed accountant works in america. Or a fence post, your choice..
Congratulations on your safe trip

Number 1 issue will be that smartphone connection directly to Filipino people back home. Just being honest. Makes assimilation more difficult.
nope it keeps them in contact their family units, stronger then here in america. to isolate her is not good. she needs family
@Peter-td3yk no one said "isolate", but she'll use it constantly and it will delay or stop her assimilation. It's probably the biggest reason that successful marriages to filipinas (brought west) fail now more than ever. Nonstop Instagram, Tiktok, Messenger.
the beginning of the end in America
Thank you!
You're fine. As long as you are healthy. The secret is if you bring them to the US, you have to give them a family of their own, with you.
Agree! Thank you so much! 😁🫰
Thanks for watching!
@ Good luck guys, my wife and I have been here in the US together for almost 6 years now. She's citizen already and we have 2 kids.
Awesome, glad it worked out for you!!
Try to find some Filipinos in your area so Arlene won’t be so homesick.
No worries po, I'm okay I'm not really good at socializing, 😅🫰

I agree, but we are young and have some stuff we need to do before we move permanently to the Philippines.

Yes! and I like it! 😁🫰
Going to be a disaster
