I remember this..i was so down and i thought of turning off tv….i thought this is impossible for Malaysian players..we are not like indonesians who are famous for capability of playing under huge pressure and make come backs…..but he kept on playing and remain calm so i felt of watching one last time just in case …and it was just amazing and remarkable… he became malaysian biggest hero…seriously..he was young Malaysians inspiration and to never give up even to the very last moment…whenever i felt anxious before exam i will remember LCW greatest comeback….and now im a doctor…
I watched this match live when I was outstation in Penang. It was the most impossible come back in the history of badminton as far as I can vouch. How was that possible? Trailing 13-20, Datuk Lee Chong Wei sealed the game with his giant killing 23-21 in the deciding game.
LD looks really upset after he loses the match. And from that point after, he's really determined to defeat LCW in every match and basically wins many major titles.
*Greatest comeback.... Context (if my memory is correct) it was the malaysia open a line judge made a bad call. It affected LD, who refused a token during the winners ceremony. He later refused to take part in the many malaysia open tournament until LCW was forced to retire due to cancer.
@@Slipperyslidin Yes. I failed to recall LD's win over LCW in 2017. But...the error by the line judge happened in the first set when it was 11-7 in the Malaysia Open 2006. I recalled watching on TV at the time. LD was very frustrated going as far as to rejecting the awards given at the podium with crowd boo-ing him.
@@slevingaius Doesn't change the fact he butchered final set... He's already on 20 point why would he kept thinking about line judge error on first set in championship points??? Your explanation doesn't makes any sense and more like headcanon stuff for me.... Young LD is also very much known as a rude player his behaviour not just appeared on this tournament but any other tournaments too and the most popular one was Korea Open 2008
@@jkjkjkssb270 true true.... No arguments... He did throw away the lead... LD doesnt like playing in Malaysia Open or Indonesia Open due to the crowd... Indeed when younger was prone to outburst... Just curious wasnt Korea open due to coach switch up? Its abit fuzzy but wasnt the the opponents coach also LD former coach?
Someone needs to remaster this entire legendary match
This one already looks remastered. The original quality was too bad

it's rare for a Malaysian to do that against any China player.
Great work saving this
Both of them should invite in the podcast.
LCW just activates his god mode 😂
i wish the quality was better i cant see anything
Yep, unfortunately this is the best version I could find. But considering it was a match 18 years ago, it should be good enough 😁
Lol this the best version because This match is 18 years ago
Yeah the first shot he hit out after his comeback looked in with the video being like 10 fps 💀

I hope that this is the Olympics.
How did the first match end 20-18
Throughout the video footage, why does the second game scoreline show as 20 - 18? Isn't it supposed to be 21 - 18
Then they made this match into big screen.
I think your new thumbnail is good that gaved you so many views keep Posting content with same type of thumbnail
Sure, thank you😎
Sorry to ask, but who's who in the video? I mean the resolution ...

Oh thanks for the info
Your memory sucks. There was no bad call. And also lindan won vs lcw in 2017 Malaysia open semifinal.

Was second match score really 20 18 instead of 21 18?
Sorry it was a mistake, Lin Dan won it 21-18 😉
But wouldn't it be 21-19 instead ?
Why did Lin Dan win the second game 20-18 and not 21-18?
It should be 21-18, it was a mistake, thanks for pointing it out
wow .. potato camera ! nice
😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😀😀😀🇲🇾🤗🤗🤗
And then he couldn't win any olympic gold or world champion gold lol 😆
