Absolutely amazing collection. Lots of talk about "identity" but I believe she kept it quite well within what Alexander McQueen would have done. A refreshing collection as well considering the restrictions from his past collections.

Spectacular and Breathtaking. I absolutely appreciate the fact that the Gucci group did not try to force another designer into the role as creative director; Sarah Burton seems to have a thorough understanding of the McQueen aesthetic and the ability to interpret it in her own perspective.
I love that while there is the tailoring element which had been a dominant trademark of McQueen, Burton managed to instill a fragility which makes the look much more feminine (like the jacket discussed). Th

what an incredible amount of pressure she must have been under. i think she did a beautiful job. mcqueens death means an inevitable change in the house, but sarah is showing us that it's in good hands. i really think she's taking it in the right direction.

You're right. Its rare that a designer is taped saying that, yet Mcqueen was, and they still didn't honor his wishes.
The collection shows tremendous skill, but the fashion world is still ruthless, all they care about are good designs, not a dead man's wish. The fact that she made it soft, earthy and added a woman's touch just eliminated all the work McQueen had done.
Anyway, while everyone is rejoicing at Sarah's success, I remain one of the few people saddened by this.

I agree it is a brilliant collection but about McQueen being happy? I dont know. If you search on youtube there is actually a video interview with Lee and he says that a house should die with a designer because somebody can never truely portray anothers vision. But good old (money grabbing) Gucci group.
