So sorry you had that experience on NCL. We cruised on the NCL for the first time and they had so many things for the kids to do it felt like we needed more than a week to enjoy everything. Based on your video, I'll be sticking to the newer NCL ships
So glad that was your experience! I don’t want anyone miserable on vacation. My mom is a big NCL fan and started paying attention when she is on cruises to what it would be like to bring my kids-she agreed that NCL had a lot of challenges that make it not a good fit for us for now.
Thank you for this video, my kiddos are 2 & 5. They have a hard time waiting and are Always hungry on a cruise. They never wanna eat when it’s time to eat so food being ready and available for a quick pickup is so nice. Thanks!!
Royal Caribbean has a lot of things really oriented towards little kids. My kids LOVED the carousel on RCL Oasis of the Seas. I think all of the Oasis class had them.
Did you do any research regrading the Epic before you booked this cruise? We have sailed on Epic twice before and will sail again in one week. We have always had a great time with great food and great entertainment. Full disclosure...we would never consider a cruise with kids under 12.
I did plenty of research! That was what surprised me so much. Other parents also commented that the pictures, videos, and descriptions of kids programming online was extremely misleading. Maybe they had and did those things 10 years ago, but none of those materials were current/accurate.
Only an american would complain that there are not enough food options between 3 and 5 pm... (beside the sit down restaurant, the snack bar, the coffee bar, the other bars etc) and why would you go cruising if you stay on board on port days? Why don't you take your holiday in a supermarket than?
For the sake of my small children and other adults trying to enjoy their vacations, I try to keep my kids out of places kids don’t do well in (sitting still in restaurants for long periods of time) or aren’t allowed in (bars focused on drinking alcohol). Supermarkets in the U.S. don’t have lots of fun things to do like water slides, pools, beaches, novel activities to share time together as a family, etc. Also, being from MN where it is often cold, we really enjoy warm weather! Thanks for asking!
Only an American wouldn't be happy with so many things on vacation, just enjoy what it is,no trip is ever perfect no matter where you go.complaining it is not as good as Royal Caribbean, compare the price you get what you pay for. Ncl epic is middle class ship, nothing more nothing less.
Yes, last time I went on Royal Carribean I paid less than on NCL Epic, and we had more fun! I was specifically reviewing the experience as a family with young kids for other families that might find it helpful. We will indeed plan to return to RC for more fun at a lower cost!
RC is def better, especially for kids. The caliber of free quality entertainment is vast compared to ncl. But ncl is cheap, even w drink package. So we do a nice royal cruise, then do a couple cheap ncl cruises in between (we retired). I’d like to try Celebrity and Carnival and even msc
The sink was the least of my worries. For now I’ll be sticking with Carnival, Royal, or trying MSC, as I’ve heard great things from other parents about MSC.

The sink is in the room that is terrible for the amount of money you pay ITS TOO SMALL!!

So nothing for 1 year old?
From what I remember, just an hour a day they could use a playroom with you? Look into Royal Caribbean, maybe Carnival?
