Every video I see makes it crystal clear to me that I somehow played through this game backwards on my first run, rough. Went to subterranean and filtration system first, then reverse through the leg. Hoping I can get to what's his face up through the leg or I will cry.
i believe the other song is some variation of the james bond theme. however, turtle has provided a handy link, which is good since i couldnt find a mashup of the two on youtube before checking the replies.

You can do them on command with some practice, definitely try it a bit. Backfipping is a very useful move to learn! What I would suggest doing is going into a flat arena like nest and practicing turning from a run and jumping simultaneously.
Having only recently started playing this game and playing through survivor I followed the overseer's directions and having to go through the overhand and up the way you came down cost me many a dead slug cat and many tears. Is it easier to get to pebbles the backwards way? Is there even any point to visiting moon or is it just that the games story essentially drove me those ways?

the trick is to do a backflip, then press down and throw at the same time
i know this is from 4 years ago but if you still happen to have this problem you can roll then pounce to the low hanging pole without using a spear
