    I just made it. It’s delicious, but also very heavy. One slice and you’re full. 😀 The creme could be a little bit thicker, also be careful when you boil it, it’s easy to burn.
    Adjustment: the creme did become better, much more puddinglike overnight. So much so, that there was hardly any left by the time I got home. (Note to self: don’t leave husband alone with cake.)

    One of my favorite deserts! In the US we call it Eclair Cake. There are 2 versions, 1) Unbaked which is horrendous and 2) baked. Adding a little chocolate to the pudding is really good too. Top with whip cream and drizzle chocolate over the cream.
    Thank you!

    • @Lisa-hc3uq
      @Lisa-hc3uq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I make an eclair ring. Very similar.
      My filling is 2 pkgs of vanilla pudding, mixed with light cream instead of milk and I add vanilla extract..
      Chocolate is drizzled over it. It tastes exactly like an eclair.
      The dough part is tricky though. It's baked at a high oven temp and reduced after 25 minutes.
      My dough seems to collapse while cooling. Never found out why but no one complains..Its the most requested dessert for friends and family gatherings.
      Love it. 🙂

I thought how I cooled it I would be able to pull it off. And served mango slices with it. Tweaked the custard with 2 Vanilla Earl Grey Tea bags. Well lets just say...It was not her preference...texture was weird. REALLY NEEDS the 2 hours fully assembled in the fridge for the magic to happen...However I had a slice in the morning...amazing!!! Like cream puffs 😁 or profiteroles 😮 completely changed. So much so I took it to all the neighbors as I knew Id eat the entire thing🤣 They all LOVED it!!!

      @@sheilamiranda3840 Its been so long I cant remember? It could mean 1 of two things. What ever the flour amount was in the custard I added 1/2 that amount in corn starch I believe that is what I was saying. At that time I was also experimenting with coconut and almond flours. So it is possible I used 1/2 the amount of flour and compensated with coconut or almond flour. It turned out great BUT make it the day ahead!!! I rushed and it wasnt great that day...weird texture... the moisture from the custard needs to soak into the top and bottom layers. It was completely different and amazing the next morning. I also used vanilla earl grey tea to flavor the custard 😁

      @@xyrxy Known under the same name? Because Poland is the place of origin of this cake. Karpatka is a traditional Polish cream pie filled with vanilla milk pudding or custard. It is usually composed of two different types of pastry; the base layer made of shortcrust pastry is thinly covered with marmalade and thick cream, then topped with a sheet of choux pastry.[1] The dessert takes its name from the mountain-like pleated shape of the powdered choux pastry which resembled the snowy peaks of the Carpathian Mountains - Karpaty in Polish.[2] The dish is often dusted with icing sugar.[1]
