Fun Fact: the novelization of the pokemon anime states that 10 year-olds are considered adults in the pokemon lore and that they are aloud to do all the things adults can do, so this series's jokes about that are accurate. Yeah, it is really weird, and gets more disturbing the more you think about it.

In fairness, Pokemon is presented as utopian both in location and societal health due to the discovery of infinity energy. Yeah you get your occasional cults, but for the most part, it’s an environmentally friendly, uncomplicated, and safe world.
